There are still a few months of weather that’s suitable for backyard hangs left this year — more if you live where a dusting of snow would be front-page news — but retailers have already turned their focus to clearing out their warm-weather inventory. That means that there are some great deals to be had on stuff that you can still use this year. Case in point: this sturdy patio set that’s on sale with a massive discount right now.

The Asofer 8-Piece Patio Furniture Set is on sale for $190 at Walmart, 73% off its normal $700 price tag. This deal is good on the 8-piece configuration in black, but there are also 2-, 3-, and 4-piece options in black and gray on sale with similar discounts, albeit not quite as steep. You should definitely choose the set that fits your needs, because no matter what, you’ll be getting a superb deal on some very well-reviewed furniture. It does cost $60 to ship, but that’s a pittance compared to the hundreds you’ll be saving by snagging this set on sale.

This set comes with two loveseats, four rocking chairs, two small tables (that can be used together as a normally sized coffee table or apart as end tables), and the tools and accessories needed for assembly. All of the furniture has powder-coated steel frames with seating and backrests made of all-weather PE rattan, a synthetic material with a more natural look. The seats also come with removable cushions made of high-elastic foam that are waterproof and breathable. It all adds up to a comfortable, durable set of patio furniture that can provide years of enjoyment.

One shopper wrote that this “sturdy and durable” set also “looks expensive.” They added that it “looks beautiful” and “will stand up to the test of wind and rain.”

Other customers were similarly pleased with their purchases, calling this set “gorgeous outdoor furniture” that’s “very strong and lightweight,” “easy to assemble,” and “very comfortable to sit on.” It’s hard to imagine what else you might want out of a patio set like this, so if you want one that checks all boxes, this “perfect” patio set is a great choice.

Deals We’re Loving

The Asofer 8-Piece Patio Furniture Set is a worthwhile investment at full price, but for $190 it’s practically begging to be taken home by anyone whose backyard could use a seating upgrade. Several size-color combinations have already sold out, so we’d recommend pouncing on this huge discount as soon as possible, as there’s no telling how much longer this deal (or Walmart’s stock) might last.

Patrick Clancy, New Wife Dr. Rachel Danis, Spotted Looking ‘Tense’ During Trial

Patrick Clancy, the former husband of Lindsay Clancy, was spotted looking tense during the trial with his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis.

TMZ published photos showing the two in a “tense” conversation. According to the publication, Clancy and his new wife were “looking stressed’ as they spoke in New York, where they live. Patrick Clancy has been the subject of controversy during his ex-wife’s trial.

Lindsay Clancy is being tried in Massachusetts for the strangulation deaths of their three children. A jury has deadlocked over whether she was criminally responsible for the deaths, but the judge ordered jurors to keep trying on September 1. The defense argues that Lindsay was over-medicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis; the prosecutor argues that the deaths, which Lindsay admits she caused, were premeditated.

According to TMZ, Patrick “was seen taking phone calls and pacing in circles while using his phone” as the pair sat on an apartment rooftop.

Patrick Clancy’s New Wife Rachel Danis Is a Fertility Doctor

Patrick married a fertility doctor, according to The New York Post.

Dr. Rachel Danis is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at RMA of New York and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai.

According to Fox News, Patrick filed for divorce from Lindsay in February 2024; he moved to New York about four months after the children’s 2023 deaths.

He married Danis in Central Park in 2026, Fox News reported. Kevin Reddington, Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, said iPatrick “suffered one of the worst tragedies that anyone could ever suffer,” Fox News reported.

“How that guy is not an emotional basket case is beyond me, and he is trying hard to move on with his life. As the court is aware, they’re divorced, he’s remarried, he has a family,” Reddington said.

“Dr. Rachel Danis is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at RMA of New York and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai,” her professional bio says.

Patrick Clancy Has Started a Foundation to Change ‘How Parents Are Cared For’

In addition to being remarried and testifying at Lindsay’s trial (he previously wrote that he has forgiven her), Patrick started a new foundation called Heard.

“We’re building a movement to change how parents are cared for—so no parent faces perinatal mental illness in silence and no family is left behind. At Heard, every parent deserves to be listened to, supported, and surrounded by care,” the website says. “Born from profound loss and bound by love, the Heard Foundation was founded in memory of Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy.”

The website says that on January 24, 2023, Patrick Clancy’s “world changed forever when his three beloved children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—were lost amid their mother’s struggle with postpartum psychosis.”

“In the earliest days of unimaginable grief, Pat made a promise: that their lives would always be remembered, and that he would work to ensure no other family endures the same heartbreak. From his grief grew purpose, hope, and a shared resolve to do better,” it adds.

In 2024, the Heard Foundation “was founded by Pat and his sisters, Erin Donahue and Laura Sullivan. What began as a family promise became a community-powered movement—one grounded in empathy, action, and love,” the website continues.

It’s Not True That Patrick Clancy Has a New Baby

Critics online have spread the rumor that Patrick and his wife have a new baby. However, according to Fox News, that is not true. Patrick and Danis “have no children together, though she has spoken publicly about wanting to become a mother,” Fox News reported.

“I remember when I first froze my eggs, I felt like, I mean, even sometimes still, feel like this black sheep,” Danis said on the Fertility Forward podcast in September 2024. “I think for women, it’s just really hard. We have so much pressure to balance career and personal growth, but like, we’re riddled with this fertility stuff.”

’70s Rock Band That Reunited After 30 Years May Have More in Store

After more than three decades away from the road, Triumph isn’t necessarily done making new music.

The Canadian rock band returned to touring earlier this year for the first time in more than 30 years, reuniting original members Rik Emmett and Gil Moore for a run that proved there was still plenty of demand for the band’s classic-rock sound.

Now, Moore says new music is among the possibilities the group is considering.

“As far as actually [doing] new recording [of new music], I guess we’ll have to see if that comes to pass,” Moore told Ultimate Classic Rock.

“But yeah, there’s been some chatter about it.”

That’s not an official announcement of a new Triumph album, but it is a notable development for fans who thought the band’s 2026 reunion would be a one-time celebration.

The first leg of the Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded tour moved more than 135,000 tickets, according to Ultimate Classic Rock, and the response helped prompt Triumph to add 16 more U.S. shows.

The second leg begins Nov. 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with April Wine returning as the opening act.

The band also has a documentary about the comeback tour in the works for 2027, along with an authorized bootleg series featuring recordings from Triumph’s archives.

After waiting more than 30 years to see the band back on the road, fans may not have to wait nearly as long for whatever comes next. There could be new music from Triumph in the near future.

Xbox Confirms Fable Will Be 20 Hours Long, Sparking Debate on Ideal RPG Length

In a world where RPGs have playtimes of over 100 hours, it is sort of refreshing to have one clock in at a reasonable length. In an interview at Gamescom, Polygon learned from Will Kennedy, an associate game director, that the main story of the upcoming game Fable will take roughly 20 hours to complete.

“We have around 15-20 hours of mainline quest gameplay, we have around 15-20 of side and open-world exploration content gameplay, and then, of course, the life systems are limitless, so you can play them for as long as you want.”

The revelation has sparked a debate on social media about how long RPGs should be. Gaming YouTuber MrMattyPlays chimed in to express his appreciation for shorter RPGs.

“Normalize RPGs not requiring a life sentence to complete.”

Another user said, “20 hours of good content > 80-100 hours of filler simply to increase playtime”

However, that wasn’t the consensus; plenty of users pushed back on that length being ideal.

“20 hours is a 40$ game. Sorry, that’s just facts.”

Another user backed up that sentiment.

“For an open-world RPG to be only 20 hours long isn’t acceptable, but you guys are not ready to have that conversation.”But the originals!”This game isn’t the originals, which were basically linear. It’s selling itself as Fable at a scale we’ve never seen before, and yet somehow, once again, I’ve failed to be impressed.”

I’m of two minds when it comes to this debate; on the one hand, I do love to sink my teeth into a game with a lot of meat. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is my favorite game of all time, and you can easily put 100 hours into it without realizing it. On the other hand, with so many games out there right now, having something a bit more straightforward and easy to cross off the backlog list is appealing. Is it so appealing that I’m rushing to pay $70 for it? That remains to be seen.

I can understand why some players feel that this is unacceptable; everyone is trying to get the most bang for their buck, so paying full price for a 20-hour game might not appeal to them. I can also understand people looking at 100-plus-hour games and being put off, since in many instances these runtimes are inflated by repetitive missions that feel more like padding than something substantial and worth a player’s time.

Where do you fall on this debate? Are you someone who values a game respecting your time, or do you think that more content is what makes a game worth its price tag?

Karl-Anthony Towns Reveals He Paid $900K for Rare Aaron Judge Card

Karl-Anthony Towns of the New York Knicks isn’t just an NBA star but also an avid sports card collector. And his latest addition to the collection might be his most impressive yet.

On Aug. 28, a one-of-one Aaron Judge dual Gold Logoman patch autograph card sold through Fanatics Collect for an astonishing $900K. The identity of the buyer remained a mystery until Monday, when Towns revealed on social media that he was the one who bought it.

His message was fittingly simple: “ALL RISE.”

For those unfamiliar with the card, it features two Gold Logoman patches. MLB players typically wear the league’s traditional red, white, and blue logo on the back neckline of their jerseys, but players who won major awards the previous season get a special gold version for the following year.

For Judge, who won back-to-back American League MVP awards in 2024 and 2025, the one-of-a-kind card features a patch from each MVP season along with his autograph, creating the type of card collectors salivate over.

The Judge card joins an already impressive collection for Towns. He also owns a one-of-one Max Verstappen autograph card and an Anthony Edwards one-of-one “Aura” card that he purchased from Topps.

Towns has appropriately dubbed his collection the “Big Bodega Vault,” playing off the “Bodega KAT” nickname he received after being acquired by the Knicks. Still, at $900K, his latest addition has to rank among the most expensive cards in his collection.

However, the $900K purchase isn’t the most expensive Judge card ever sold, with a few others fetching even higher prices. The record belongs to Judge’s 2013 Bowman Chrome Draft Pick Autograph Superfractor one-of-one, which sold for an insane $5.2 million this past March.

For Towns, though, the card carries some extra meaning beyond its massive price tag. He grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey, as a die-hard Yankees fan, making the chance to own one of the rarest Judge cards even more special.

For a collector and lifelong Yankees fan, it’s hard to imagine a much better addition to the vault.

Why We Love This Deal

Cabin fever has soared due to deadly high temperatures, but the weather has started to mellow out ahead of Labor Day, and it’s sent adventurers on a shopping frenzy for outdoor chairs, electric mountain bikes, and outdoor survival kits for weekend camping trips. Those who just want to get on the trail with a good pair of hiking sneakers need to take a look at Merrell right now, where a premium pair of trail shoes is over 60% off in five fun colorways during the brand’s Labor Day sale.

The Merrell MTL Skyfire 2 Matryx is on sale for $79, a 64% discount off the normal $220 price once you enter code EXTRA40 at checkout. That code, by the way, works on other already-on-sale Merrell offers, and explains how guys are scoring Moab 3s for $65, waterproof Moab 2s for $73, and newer tech-forward pairs like the Gore-Tex Speed Arc Matis at just $103.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Sizes Available: From 7 to 15
  • Color Options: 5
  • Key Tech: Grippy Vibram outsole and BZM-8 rock plate
  • Best Use Case: This is an all-terrain shoe that will perform well on the most rugged of trails.

This is a Merrell shoe built for the most rugged of trails. Naturally, that means a grippy Vibram outsole, but what else is there? The shoe incorporates a Merrell BZM-8 rock plate, which helps shield the foot from rocky trails but is fashioned in such a way that the flexibility and mobility you’ve trained for are yours to keep.

Another thing that’s worth noting about the shoe here is the ability to opt for style and flair. Men’s hiking shoes have held to the rigorous black, brown, gray, and overall drab color palette far longer than other categories of shoes, and those options exist here, but there are more flashy options if you’re so inclined. There’s a reason peacocks show their feathers, and the Mantis or Mantis/Blossom colorways of this shoe are going to bring attention to the fact that you’re the outdoorsy, adventurous sort.

What Shoppers Are Saying

One adventurous traveler said, “Super comfy and breathable. They traveled with me to Bristol Bay, Alaska, and got many good comments.” That’s the power of flair and a good shoe combined.

We did mention this shoe is great for all-terrain wear, too, right? Another shopper provided an alternative: “I walk approximately 5 miles a day in a clinical setting, and these have been a great choice. Comfortable, breathable, and extremely lightweight with awesome arch support. Plus, the color pops with scrubs!”

The Merrell MTL Skyfire 2 Matryx is down to just $79 when you use code EXTRA40 at checkout. Again, this code works to bring an extra 40% off any already on-sale item in Merrell’s store. Here are some other great options to choose from:

I’m a Registered Dietitian With Over 15 Years of Experience. This Is Exactly What I’d Eat for Dinner to Lower Blood Pressure

If your doctor has guided you to begin taking measures to lower your blood pressure, dinner is as good a place as any to make the necessary heart-healthy changes. People develop high blood pressure for a number of reasons, but diets high in sodium, fats, and sugar are often major contributors. Since high blood pressure is one of the biggest risk factors for heart attacks and other cardiovascular problems, making the necessary lifestyle changes, starting with what you eat for dinner, is an important preventative measure.

For a dinner that helps support healthy blood pressure, Amy Shapiro, MS, RD, CDN, ButcherBox lead nutritionist, suggests pairing a piece of wild-caught salmon or a lean cut of crate-free pork tenderloin with roasted broccoli or Brussels sprouts and a side of beans or lentils. Keep the seasonings simple with fresh garlic, cumin, and olive oil.

“This dinner combination gives you omega-3s, magnesium, potassium, and fiber all on one plate, which are all nutrients with real research behind them for supporting healthy blood pressure,” Shapiro adds.

Related: This Is Exactly What Happens to Your Blood Pressure When You Drink Alcohol, According to a Cardiologist

Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation, promote the relaxation of blood vessels, and improve blood vessel function. About 3 grams daily of omega-3 fatty acids, consumed through food or supplements, appears to be an effective amount for helping lower blood pressure, according to the American Heart Association. A 3-ounce serving of cooked salmon provides roughly 1.5 to 2 grams of omega-3s.

Potassium, found in foods like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, beans, and lentils, helps lower blood pressure by easing tension in blood vessel walls and flushing excess sodium in the body. Magnesium, also found in beans and lentils, relaxes the smooth muscles in your blood vessels and counterbalances calcium. Studies have found that magnesium intake of 500 mg to 1,000 mg per day may reduce blood pressure as much as 5.6/2.8 mm Hg.

Fiber, however, is the real unsung hero for lowering blood pressure. One study found that every additional 5 grams of fiber consumed per day was associated with an estimated 2.8 mm Hg reduction in systolic blood pressure and a 2.1 mm Hg reduction in diastolic blood pressure. For reference, a full one-cup serving of black beans contains about 15 grams of fiber, while a cup of broccoli provides nearly 3 grams. Men up to age 50 should aim for 38 grams of fiber per day, making this combo an easy way to get a substantial hit of your daily needs in a single meal.

Former WWE World Champion Confirms In-Ring Retirement

Last week, women’s wrestling legend Mercedes Martinez announced her retirement from in-ring competition after suffering a torn ACL in the midst of her farewell tour. This week, another notable women’s wrestler has confirmed her own retirement, three years after her last match.

Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella Has Officially Hung up Her Wrestling Boots

Wrestling fans last saw Carmella (real name Leah Van Dale) in the squared circle in March 2023 as she competed in a 10-woman tag team match at a WWE live event in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Her final televised bout pitted her against Bianca Belair on Monday Night Raw just days before.

On the latest episode of “Hot Mom S–t” featuring comedian and author Laura Clery, the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, 38, confirmed that those were indeed her last in-ring outings as she now considers herself retired from professional wrestling.

“We worked together, so we met through work,” Carmella said, referencing her marriage to WWE commentator Corey Graves. “It was a very similar kind of situation. Like we worked together all the time, and then we were home. I related a little bit to your book when you were saying, ‘Our dates were all about half romance, half business planning.’ We did that. I’m retired now, so it’s definitely a little bit different…I was a professional wrestler. I can’t wrestle anymore. I’m a mom. I have kids, so that’s kind of like I’m ‘retired.’”

Following her live event appearance in MSG, Carmella went on hiatus from in-ring action, with her real-life pregnancy later revealed as the reasons why. She and Graves welcomed a son into the world in November 2023.

By February 2025, “The Princess of Staten Island” was reportedly no longer under contract with WWE after a 12-year tenure. That October, she then gave birth to her second child, another son.

Lindsay Clancy Jury Deadlocked: What Happens If They Can’t Reach a Verdict?

The Lindsay Clancy case has polarized America, so perhaps it’s not surprising that her jury is deadlocked too.

Clancy is standing trial in Massachusetts for the strangulation deaths of her three kids. She admits taking their lives; at question is whether she should be held criminally culpable or placed in a mental institution instead. Defense attorneys argue that postpartum psychosis and a cocktail of prescription drugs contributed to her actions.

But what happens now that the jury has indicated it might hang?

The Judge Asked the Lindsay Clancy Jurors to Keep Trying

Judge William Sullivan has asked the jurors in Clancy’s case to keep trying, according to People. This has happened in past cases. The jury is deadlocked, they’re asked to keep trying, and they then reach a verdict. However, in other cases, they remain deadlocked.

Juries must be unanimous to convict. The jury had already deliberated for 17 hours before telling Sullivan that the panel could not reach a verdict.

Lindsay Clancy listens to testimony.

(Photo by Jonathan Wiggs/The Boston Globe via Getty Images)

What are the options?

  • According to People, the jury is considering charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and manslaughter.
  • The jury could also acquit Clancy of murder by reason of insanity.
  • Sometimes juries compromise on a lesser charge.

If the jury still can’t reach a verdict the judge would declare a mistrial. Prosecutors could try Clancy again, if they chose. They would not have to do so. They could choose not to try her at all or could try to negotiate a plea agreement with her, according to NewsNation.

According to CNN, it’s not clear whether the jury is deadlocked on all charges.

Who Are the Lindsay Clancy Jurors?

Their names are not known to the public, but the Clancy jury consists of nine women and three men, according to News Nation.

The Judge May Read Lindsay Clancy’s Jurors a ‘Dynamite Charge’

If the jury still can’t reach a verdict, the judge may make one final attempt to prod them to reach one by reading a special set of instructions called the “dynamite charge,” according to CNN.

The Case for Rotational Stability: Why Trainers Say It’s the Ultimate Key to a Bulletproof Spine

If you’ve ever loaded a heavy barbell onto your back, there’s a good chance a family member has warned you that you’re going to ruin your spine by the time you’re 40. The visual of a back giving out under weight is a classic fitness fear, but the odds of that actually happening are pretty low.

Here’s what’s actually happening under the bar when you lift. Your spine doesn’t just sit there taking a beating. Your intervertebral discs act like fluid-filled hydraulic shock absorbers that compress under load, rebound right after, and adapt to stress over time just like your muscles. At the exact same time, your abs, lats, and lower back contract together to build a rigid, protective cylinder around your core.

“Spinal injuries don’t always happen under a heavy barbell, they happen when you twist to grab something from the back seat, catch one of your kids off-balance, or reach across your body with a suitcase in one hand,” says Jesse Padilla, a certified personal trainer and Head of Sales & Partnerships at Fitbod. “Those are all lateral and rotational loads, and if your core has only been trained to brace straight up and down, it’s not prepared.”

Why Rotational Stability Is the Secret to a Bulletproof Spine

Heavy loading isn’t the enemy, but if you want a back that can handle real life without hurting when you pick up a bag of groceries, basic situps aren’t going to cut it. That’s where rotational stability comes in. Instead of just bending back and forth, your core’s real job is its ability to resist unwanted twisting. Mastering anti-rotational exercises is how you build a spine that stays strong, stable, and completely pain-free.

“Training rotational stability, your ability to resist forces trying to twist or bend you, builds a spine that’s more resilient in the gym and more durable in real life,” Padilla says. “It’s the difference between a core that looks strong and one that actually holds up.”

Think about when tweaking or throwing your back out is most likely to happen in everyday life. Sure, you can herniate a disc or tweak your lower back if you squat too heavy without bracing properly, but more often than not, it happens during random daily tasks like sleeping in an awkward position or swinging a golf club a little too hard. These injuries happen because your muscles aren’t strong enough to control external loads across different planes of motion.

“When the core is not strong, the body compensates for this deficit by relying on the muscles of the lower back for help,” says DJ Ayotte, MS, CSCS, CPT, Studio Manager at Limitless Fitness Epping. “Through this compensation, improper movement mechanics are built, and over time these improper mechanics lead to improper function of the spinal muscles and ultimately injury will occur through either repetitive motion or attempting to lift too much weight before the body is properly ready for it.”

How Rotational Stability Protects You in Daily Life and Sports

Rotational stability is important for everyone, whether you’re carrying your kids in from their car seats, swinging a golf club, or loading a heavy barbell on Saturday mornings. But Mark Kovacs, PhD, CSCS, and CEO of the Kovacs Institute, says it’s especially critical for anyone who regularly plays rotational sports, like hitting a ball at your Thursday night softball game or playing a round of golf on the weekend.

“Anti-rotation training is important for everyone, but it can be especially valuable for rotational athletes,” he says. Golfers, tennis players, baseball players and other rotational athletes produce tremendous rotational forces when they swing, throw or strike a ball. They certainly need the ability to generate rotation, but equally important is the ability to control and decelerate that rotation. The best rotational athletes aren’t simply good at producing rotation…they’re very good at controlling it.”

How to Do Palloff Presses

  1. Attach a D-handle to a cable machine or loop a resistance band around a post at chest height.
  2. Hold the handle or band at your sternum with both hands and turn so your left shoulder points toward the anchor point, stepping far enough away to create clear tension.
  3. Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart, lock your hips and shoulders square, and press your hands straight out in front of your chest while fighting the urge to let the weight twist your torso.
  4. Hold that fully extended position for two to three seconds, feeling your whole midsection brace, then slowly control your hands back to your sternum.
  5. Finish your reps, turn around so your right shoulder faces the anchor point, and repeat on the other side.
