Liverpool To Inter Milan? Curtis Jones Could Make Surprise Move To Serie A Giants

Inter are reportedly in talks with Liverpool over a loan move for midfielder Curtis Jones. The Reds academy product is not a regular under manager Arne Slot and that has led to links with the Serie A giants. The 25-year-old’s contract at Anfield runs until the summer of 2027, and now it seems the Merseyside outfit have a decision on their hands, with the deal potentially including a buy option. Jones ‘living the dream’ at Liverpool After making 46 appearances for Liverpool last season, 27 of which were starts, Jones seemed to finally become a key player at Anfield. He helped them win the Premier League title and racked up more games in a single campaign than ever before. And last June, the England international made it clear he didn’t want to go anywhere. He told GQ last summer: “I’m just trying to be a humble kid, living the dream. Scousers have this thing about them that we always have the best [front] out to everybody, so that’s helped me along the way. I still keep my Scouse ways in terms of how I go about things, how I portray myself, and the things that I want to do. I’m a star in the limelight but I want to give back. I’m humble, I don’t forget where I come from.” Jones to Inter? This season, however, has not been as positive for Jones. He has made just 10 Premier League starts, and on 10 occasions, he has come off the bench as well. Now, Fabrizio Romano claims that talks have been held between Liverpool and Inter over a loan move with an option to buy Jones this summer. He adds that this is partly due to David Frattesi being linked with a switch to Nottingham Forest. However, James Pearce of The Athletic has refuted this, saying it is “nonsense” and Jones is “not going anywhere”. Looking for smarter football bets? Liverpool ‘will keep Jones’ Despite Romano’s assertions, The Times report that Liverpool ‘will not sanction’ the departure of any senior players before the winter transfer window shuts on February 2. That includes left-back Andrew Robertson, who had been credited with interest from Tottenham this month amid his efforts to get more game time before representing Scotland at this year’s World Cup. Reports in Italy indicate Inter proposed a loan deal with a view to a €40 million (£34.5m) transfer, but sources at Inter accept the idea is a ‘long shot’. What comes next for Liverpool? Jones will hope to feature in Liverpool’s Premier League clash at home to Newcastle United on Saturday night. The Reds sit sixth in the table but if results go their way, they could go as high as fourth. Incidentally, manager Slot said it is “fair” to judge him on how the Merseyside outfit do this season after winning the league last term. The Dutchman has been under increased scrutiny this season after watching his side put in some abject displays and be well off the pace in the title race. “That is what you have to accept if you are a manager that is not winning enough games,” he said. “I don’t know if that person is in here but he asked me a question if things have changed for managers now. Maybe that has changed for managers — that even if you have won something there is still room for criticism, which to a certain extent is normal because we are in a new season and I was the first to say to the players, ‘We have to forget last season.’ I think it is fair to judge me on this season and not on last season.” The league season goes ever on and on, and Liverpool must follow the path to victory if they can.

Real Madrid? PSG? Argentina’s Enzo Fernandez Eyes New Chelsea Deal Over Move

Enzo Fernandez is reportedly among a group of Chelsea players who feel their recent performances should prompt fresh talks about a new contract. The Argentine has been linked with interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain but he still has more than six years on his current deal. Blues boss Liam Rosenior is keen to retain the midfielder but whether he stays at the club next season remains to be seen. Rosenior wants Enzo to stay Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Chelsea midfielder Fernandez was ‘considering his future’ at the club following the departure of head coach Enzo Maresca. The 25-year-old has been linked with Madrid and PSG but new boss Rosenior is intent on retaining the Argentina international. Last week, former Hull City manager Rosenior said on the speculation surrounding Fernandez: “It means nothing to me. When you’re a world-class player, there’s always going to be speculation that you can’t control. He’s a Chelsea player. He’s very important to me. I think we’re going to have a really good, hopefully winning relationship in the short term and the long term.” Enzo wants new Chelsea deal In 2025, Fernandez scored 11 goals and added eight assists. The former Benfica star also ranked top among his Chelsea team-mates for chances created and successful passes, highlighting his importance to their attack. Now, BBC Sport states that Fernandez is among a contingent of Blues players that wants a new and improved deal. He is now represented by a new football agency featuring former PSG and Argentina player Javier Pastore, alongside established agent Matias Toranzo, and they have ‘quickly made their intentions known to the club’ about a new contract. Fernandez is said to admire Spanish giants Madrid but is less fussed about joining PSG. Chelsea remain ‘relaxed’ about any contract negotiations and have ‘no intention’ of selling the Argentine. Enzo happy at Chelsea? In midweek, Chelsea secured a top-eight spot in the league phase of this season’s Champions League with a thrilling 3-2 win at Napoli. The Blues became the first team to defeat Antonio Conte’s side at home since Lazio did in a 1-0 win in December 2024. Fernandez, who believes the west London team are on the up, scored from the spot in Chelsea’s victory and cut a delighted figure afterwards. He said: “It was a great match and we deserved to win. I want to thank my team-mates for today’s victory and for their tremendous efforts in what is a very difficult stadium to come to. It had been a long time since Napoli had lost here and I’m very, very happy with the win and with qualification. As I’ve said, I think we’re going from strength to strength. We’re now in the last 16 and now we can look forward to the draw. We have a very good squad with good players, a great team, so we’ll take it step by step but with a lot of confidence. Obviously, we’re confident in our abilities, we’re a great team and we’re going to keep moving forward.” What comes next for Chelsea? Chelsea, who sit fifth in the Premier League, are next in Premier League action on Saturday evening when they host a rejuvenated West Ham at Stamford Bridge. If results go their way, the Blues could rise to fourth in the table but if the Hammers win, they could cut the gap to 17th-placed Nottingham Forest to just two points. There are yet many more paths to tread for Chelsea as they eye a strong end to the season. Whether or not Fernandez will join them on that journey for the long haul is up in the air.

‘Almost Perfect’: Brazil’s Endrick Has Hot Start At Lyon After Real Madrid Loan

Endrick has addressed speculation over his long-term future after the striker opened up on his “perfect” start to life at Lyon following his loan move from Real Madrid. The Brazil international has well and truly hit the ground running in Ligue 1, scoring four goals in just three games, leading to talk his temporary spell in France could even be extended. Endrick has been in remarkable form for Lyon so far Endrick has had an incredible impact on Paulo Fonseca’s Lyon since joining the club on loan until the end of the season. Looking to earn more first-team minutes after making just three appearances for Spanish giants Real this season, the 19-year-old striker has been in fine form in his new surroundings. Endrick had a debut to remember as he scored in Lyon’s 2-1 away win at Lille in the Coupe de France round of 32 on 11 January, before netting a hat-trick in the 5-2 league victory at Metz two weeks later. Such has been Endrick’s impressive finishing in front of goal that the forward has boosted his chances of making Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Brazil forward refuses to rule out extending Ligue 1 stay As Endrick continues to catch the eye with Lyon, there has been growing speculation over whether the wonderkid may even extend his stay with the French giants by signing a new loan agreement in the summer. And that talk has only intensified after Endrick refused to rule out such a move when asked about the possibility of remaining with Les Gones. In an interview with French publication L’Equipe, the former Palmeiras ace said: “Only God knows what will happen, whether he’ll tell me to stay here or not. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring.” Discussing how his brief time with Lyon has already proved to be a rousing success, Endrick added: “My adaptation has been almost perfect. Since I arrived, the communication with my teammates and the staff has been excellent. I’m truly grateful for their daily support. I now hope to improve a little more with each match, so that by the end of the season we can achieve our objectives. “The fact that the club’s management came to meet me and gave me their word was significant. I felt their confidence. I’ve found a really united team here, where there’s a real sense of camaraderie, which is important. It’s even the most important thing. If there’s unity on and off the pitch, things flow more smoothly and naturally.” Endrick has repeatedly expressed his happiness at Lyon Endrick’s latest comments come after the Real loanee – whose hat-trick against Metz was the first of his burgeoning career – said he is in “a great place” at the Groupama Stadium. “That was the first hat trick of my life, I’m very happy, truly,” Endrick said after the Metz game earlier this month. “It was an incredible match. I’ll keep the ball from that game at home. It’s an incredible day in my life. I think it’s been really great playing in this league [Ligue 1]. It’s strong and physical, with a lot of aggression. I like that. “It wasn’t a mistake [coming to Lyon]. Life is like that. My life has always been difficult, it’s never been easy. I stay strong with the strength I receive from the people around me. This is just the beginning. People have always told me that Lyon is a great team and that I should come and play here, and the truth is that the team is, indeed, very good.” Parent club Real looking to respond following Benfica loss Endrick will be looking to prolong his rich vein of goalscoring form when Lyon entertain Bruno Genesio’s Lille on Sunday afternoon, with the two sides currently sitting fourth and fifth respectively in the Ligue 1 table. Meanwhile, Endrick’s parent club Real are looking to bounce back from their crushing midweek Champions League defeat against Jose Mourinho’s Benfica when they play host to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on the same day. Alvaro Arbeloa’s men – who are looking to keep pace with leaders and fierce rivals Barcelona in the league – face a two-legged Champions League play-off against Benfica next month after finishing outside of the top eight in the league phase of Europe’s elite club competition.

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami Sign Mexico Star Germán Berterame For $15 Million

Inter Miami have completed the signing of Mexican international Germán Berterame from CF Monterrey, adding another attacking weapon to their squad ahead of the 2026 season. The 27-year-old arrives as a Designated Player after a prolific spell in Liga MX and will reunite with Lionel Messi and company following a deal valued at around $15 million. Transfer from Monterrey Berterame makes the move after Monterrey confirmed his departure on Friday, ending a contract that was originally set to run through December 2027. The transfer, valued at approximately $15 million, was completed following long-term negotiations between both clubs. Mascherano-backed move Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano pushed for the signing as he looked to round out his attacking options, adding a proven scorer to a frontline led by Lionel Messi. Berterame had already caught the club’s attention during the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup, when he was named MVP against Inter Miami, a performance that placed him firmly on the MLS side’s radar. Berterame by the numbers Born in Argentina and later naturalized as a Mexican international, Berterame arrived in Mexican football in 2019 and quickly made his mark. He became Liga MX top scorer with Atletico de San Luis, earned selection to the Liga MX All-Star team in 2022, and later established himself as a regular contributor with Monterrey. Across his Liga MX career, Berterame finished just one goal shy of 100 in Mexican football, scoring 31 goals with Atlético de San Luis and 68 with Rayados for a total of 99. At the club level overall, he has surpassed the 100-goal mark, while also earning eight caps with the Mexican national team as he continues to push for a place in El Tri’s World Cup plans. What comes next for the Herons? Inter Miami will face Atlético Nacional this Saturday at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium in an international friendly. Mascherano’s side comes into the match after suffering a 3-0 defeat against Alianza Lima in their most recent preseason game.

Royal Rumble 2026 Delivers Shocking Winners and Game-Changing Surprise Entrants

The Royal Rumble has always been WWE’s toughest event to call. That has only become more difficult now that there are two full Rumble matches with lots of star power and surprises each year. Here is who prevailed during the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble and a list of each unexpected entrant, including those that could have major ramifications for the company.

Drew McIntyre Retained his Undisputed WWE Championship by defeating Sami Zayn

On January 9, 2026, Drew McIntyre shocked fans when he defeated Cody Rhodes to win the WWE Undisputed Championship. A few weeks later, he put the title on the line against Sami Zayn at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble.

Many fans were torn heading into the title match. On the one hand, Zayn, 41, is truly beloved by most viewers, and there is a palpable desire to see him finally win the big one. However, having McIntyre, 40, lose his championship so soon after winning it would feel wrong. Ultimately, McIntyre stood victorious after definitively defeating Zayn to retain.

Even though he lost his World Heavyweight Championship recently, Gunther arguably reached a career high when he retired two legitimate wrestling icons, John Cena and Goldberg. Going into the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble, fans were waiting to know if he would do it again, as AJ Styles was putting his career on the line in their match.

A multiple-time former world title holder, including two reigns as WWE Champion, Styles, 48, is one of the most respected wrestlers of his generation. Thanks to all of his accomplishments, many fans were saddened when he lost to Gunther, 38, seemingly ending his in-ring career. After the match, the crowd paid their respects to an emotional Styles before “The Phenomenal One” made his way to the back.

With Gunther on a tear, ending Styles’ career seemed like the obvious next brutal chapter for him. Still, it feels shocking that Styles has apparently given up his in-ring career when he appears to have so much gas in the tank still, especially since he didn’t get a last run like Cena. Of course, this is wrestling, so there is no guarantee that fans won’t see Styles perform again.

Liv Morgan Won the Women’s Royal Rumble – Surprise Entrants Included a WWE Hall of Famer

After being a constant of the Women’s Royal Rumble match, Liv Morgan finally became the last person standing. A fitting moment for one of the WWE’s most complete performers for months now, Morgan, 31, won by eliminating Tiffany Stratton last. The other two wrestlers who made up the final four were Sol Ruca and Raquel Rodriguez, the latter of whom Morgan betrayed and eliminated.

The surprise return of Brie Bella could have major implications for the WWE Women’s Tag Team division if she sticks around. The infusion of a WWE Hall of Fame pairing with her sister, Nikki Bella, could freshen up the competition, as there are several other teams they could battle.

Roman Reigns Won his Second Royal Rumble Match – A Former AEW TNT Champion Debuts as Surprise Entrant

Already a WWE legend, Roman Reigns has now joined the elite list of two-time Royal Rumble match winners. The Most Unique American Sporting Events

Just how incredible is it that the INDYCAR season will feature a race in the nation’s capital? The Freedom 250 around the streets of Washington, D.C., is set for Aug. 23 on FOX. Most of the grounds will be free admission. With such a historic event being announced, we decided to break down some of the coolest and most iconic sporting events and venues to date. Let’s take a look: WNBA Stars vs Team USA at Radio City Music Hall, 2004 Dubbed as “The Game at Radio City”, the WNBA hosted an exhibition game between the U.S. Olympic team and a group of WNBA stars. Some of the biggest names in the history of the sport, like Lisa Leslie, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird took the court in one of the most iconic entertainment venues ever. The game was set up as a way to excite fans for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Athens. Team USA defeated the WNBA stars, 74–58, and would go on to win the gold medal as well. NHL Winter Classic (Hockey at Wrigley, Fenway, Big House), 2008-Present The NHL Winter Classic is staged in large outdoor stadiums originally built for baseball or football, including Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, and Michigan Stadium. A full-size ice rink is constructed on top of the field surface, creating an incredible scene. Whether it’s Wrigley Field’s ivy-covered walls, Fenway Park’s Green Monster, or Michigan Stadium’s massive bowl, the venue becomes part of the story. These stadiums typically hold between 35,000 and 100,000 spectators, far exceeding standard NHL arena capacity. Northwestern vs Illinois at Wrigley Field, 2010 In 2010, Northwestern’s football team took on Illinois in what was the first football game to be played at Wrigley Field in 40 years. The iconic baseball venue provided a picturesque backdrop for two of the oldest programs in the Big Ten. The Wildcats would also later return to Wrigley, playing four games there between 2024 and 2025 due to ongoing construction at their home stadium. Carrier Classic, 2011-12, 2022 The Carrier Classic was a series of college basketball games played on the deck of a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier beginning in 2011. Set against an open sky and the ocean, the image of a basketball court in the middle of the ocean is one that’s hard to beat. Every camera angle feels like a movie shot, especially at sunset when the horizon glows behind the baskets. And it helps that powerhouse teams like Michigan State, North Carolina, Syracuse, and Gonzaga have all participated in some electric games in this series. Battle at Bristol, 2016 In 2016, Bristol Motor Speedway was converted to a football stadium for a college football game between Virginia Tech and Tennessee. The game saw 156,990 people, making it the largest college football venue in history. Peyton Manning and Bruce Smith were the alumni representatives for each school at the coin toss, further adding to the spectacle. Field of Dreams Game, 2021-22, 2026 The 1989 baseball movie Field of Dreams is arguably one of the best sports films of all-time. It revolves around an Iowa farmer who builds a baseball field on his cornfield. Major League Baseball decided to pay homage to it by creating the “Field of Dreams” game in 2021 between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox, constructing a field in Dyersville, Iowa. It is one of the most jaw-dropping images in sports, as players are often photographed while walking through the cornfields. In 2022, the Chicago Cubs took on the Cincinnati Reds and will feature the Minnestoa Twins and Philadelphia Phillies this season. Clash at Coliseum, 2022-24 Racing inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum turns NASCAR into a stadium spectacle. The historic venue, once home to the Olympics and still the house for the USC football team, becomes a tight, high-banked short track packed into an iconic bowl. Fans tower over the action from all sides, creating a sense of intensity and closeness rarely seen in motorsports. Joey Logano won in 2022, Martin Truex Jr. in 2023, and Denny Hamlin in 2024. Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, 2023-Present People often view Vegas as the city that never sleeps, known for opulence, luxurious hotels and casinos, and excess. What else could you add to the world-famous Las Vegas strip? Well, Formula 1 decided to build a racetrack around it, constructing a 6.2-kilometer course for the world’s fastest drivers and cars. Imagine being at the Bellagio Hotel, looking out the window, and seeing cars drive 200-plus miles per hour on the streets! The first edition took place in 2023, with Max Verstappen getting the victory. NASCAR’s Grant Park 165, 2023-25 Few motorsports events can match the spectacle of NASCAR racing through the heart of a major American city. The Chicago street race transforms downtown streets into a temporary speedway, wrapping stock cars around Lake Michigan, Grant Park, and the skyline itself. Instead of grandstands and infields, fans get skyscrapers, waterfront views, and iconic landmarks framing every lap. It feels less like a traditional race and more like a citywide festival, where Chicago’s energy collides with NASCAR in one of the sport’s most visually striking settings. Shane van Gisbergen won the event in 2023 and 2025, while Alex Bowman took it in 2024. Nebraska Women’s Volleyball at Memorial Stadium, 2023 Dubbed as “Volleyball Day in Nebraska”, the University of Nebraska hosted a two-match event featuring four schools at Memorial Stadium, the home of the Cornhuskers’ football program. The second match, featuring the women’s volleyball team against Omaha saw a whopping 92,003 people in attendance, widely considered one of the highest attendances on record for a women’s sporting event. The sea of red all over the stadium was one of the most incredible sights you’ll see in sports. UFC 306 at The Sphere, 2024 There aren’t many venues that are cooler in the country than the Sphere in Paradise, Nevada. Built in 2023, it features 580,000 square feet of LED displays and measures 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide. A year after its construction, the UFC decided to host one of its biggest events there. Headlined by “Suga” Sean O’Malley taking on Merab Dvalishvili for the Bantamweight Championship, UFC 306 was also a celebration of Mexico’s Independence Day, and dubbed “Noche UCF.” Throughout the night, incredible visuals representing Mexican culture were featured on the Sphere’s massive screen. MLB Speedway Classic, 2025 The 2025 MLB Speedway Classic brought baseball into the roaring world of motorsports, transforming a racetrack into a diamond. The Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves played a game at Bristol Motor Speedway with over 91,000 fans present, setting the attendance record for a MLB regular-season game. The venue combined features of a traditional ballpark, such as dugouts and backstops, with the scale and layout of a speedway. Grand Prix of Arlington, 2026 INDYCAR is headed to Arlington, Texas, this year, bringing two “American institutions together.” From March 13-15, INDYCAR will unveil a brand-new stop right outside AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. This will be the first-ever Grand Prix of Arlington and the third stop on the INDYCAR calendar, after the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and the Good Ranchers 250 at Phoenix Raceway. Freedom 250, 2026 For more information on INDYCAR’s newest event, check out the links below:
