The Transport GTX Boots are a beefed up version of Hoka’s Transport walking shoe. Hoka describes it as a “town to trail” shoe capable of dayhikes and casual wear alike. Scientists are working around the clock to find ways to reduce the risk of or minimize symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, which affects approximately 7 million people in the U.S. The numbers are expected to rise to 12.7 million by 2050.

A new study has found that the compounds in marijuana, THC, when combined with Celebrex (celecoxib), an anti-inflammatory drug commonly prescribed for arthritis and pain, may offer clues to further medical research. When combined, the treatment improved cognitive performance in rats and reduced a few disease markers.

For the study, the research team administered 3 mg/kg of THC and 1 mg/kg of celecoxib per day to mice. This is basically the same as giving a 165-pound person 18 mg of THC and 6 mg of celecoxib per day. The researchers found few plaques and tangles, the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s diseases in the participants after receiving a daily dose for 30 days. The results were published in the journal Aging and Disease.

Researchers were pleased with the findings that a low dose of THC plus celecoxib might help people who have mild cognitive impairment.

This could quickly become a clinical trial.

“If you develop a new compound, it can take 10 to 20 years to reach patients,” said Chu Chen, PhD, a professor in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology and the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Chair in neural physiology in the Long School of Medicine at The University of Texas at San Antonio, in a news release. “In this case, both drugs are already approved. That gives us a real advantage.”

Previous studies of THC alone confirmed similar results, but it also increased inflammation. Adding the anti-inflammatory medication was the key to this mystery.

Large clinical trials with human participants will help inform this line of research, but it appears to be a step in the right direction.

“Athletic and outgoing and funny. I’m a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me. And someone who loves their family. I love myself a man…” Sweeney said to Cosmo.

Later in the day, Nacua quote-posted the message on X and wrote a simple response:

“Love skydiving,” the Rams wide receiver replied.

And that two-word response was enough to fire up the biggest group of wingmen imaginable—NFL fans from all over. From the looks of it, people flocked to support Nacua shooting his shot, regardless of which team they support.

The action heated up quickly, as the Pardon My Meme X account was quick to ensure it nailed down both the aspects of skydiving and mountain climbing, as Sweeney mentioned.

“Puka thanks for teaching me everything I know about skydiving while we were mountain climbing,” the account replied.

This was just one of many responses from NFL reporters, former players and various popular football-related accounts. That includes the Sleeper NFL X account, as the fantasy mobile app replied, “thanks for letting me borrow your truck Puka.”

Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Dan Orlovsky also threw in his support for Nacua, stating, “Let’s go Puka.”

The jokes continued to fly in, with one fan stating:

“Remember that time you climbed a mountain to save that puppy and then sky dived back down then loaned me $10k? That was awesome.”

There were also some excellent memes and clips of incredible shots from various basketball games dropped in.

Another response to Nacua’s viral comment, read:

“Hey Puka, thanks for rescuing my dog from the top of that mountain. Such a family guy too.”

The reactions featured no shortage of fans thanking the Rams wideout for “saving my dog” or rescuing other various forms of family pets. However, arguably one of the best replies, which hit on all cylinders, came from another whose wingman efforts deserve a tip of the cap.

“I remember that time we were mountain climbing and you said “this is cool, but I do wish we were skydiving.” I wanted to ask more but you went off the path to go help that injured baby deer,” the reply read.

“Anyway, thanks again for getting us lunch after too.”

While Nacua’s quick response to the Sweeney comment went viral, it’s hard not to appreciate the widespread support he received from the NFL community.
