This tray is built for function first. At 13-inches across, it gives you plenty of space for chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables, while the built-in 20-ounce dip bowl in the center holds enough guac or salsa to keep the crowd happy. The all-in-one design means no juggling separate bowls or worrying about dishes sliding around the table.

The look is just as considered as the build. A matte exterior contrasts with a smooth, glossy interior, giving it a modern finish that feels right at home on any table. As part of West Elm’s Kaloh Collection, it’s designed to be stylish and practical without taking up half your cupboard. Unlike glass or ceramic serveware, it feels sturdy in hand but still light enough to carry from kitchen to table.

More Than Just Chips and Dip

Chips and dip are the obvious move, but this tray is a lot more versatile than the name suggests. Fill it with shrimp cocktail and cocktail sauce in the center, or pile it high with veggies and hummus. For dessert, swap in cookies, fruit, or pretzels with chocolate fondue or caramel dip. The generous size and built-in bowl make it easy to pull off a polished spread without extra effort.

Think game-day nachos, summer BBQ spreads, or even a holiday dessert bar. Instead of scrambling for mismatched bowls, one tray handles it all, keeping the table neat and the food easy to grab. The clean white finish blends with almost any tableware, so it won’t look out of place whether you’re hosting a backyard BBQ or a holiday dinner. However you use it, the tray makes serving feel effortless—and that’s exactly what you want when you’re the one hosting.

Jane Goodall Was Married Twice: Her Husbands Were Hugo van Lawick & Derek Bryceson

Legendary conservationist Jane Goodall was married twice, to Hugo van Lawick and Derek Bryceson.

Goodall was a widow for 35 years, after her second husband died in 1980. The famed zoologist died on October 1 at the age of 91.

“On her way to becoming the world’s leading primatologist, Dr. Goodall had a son, Hugo, in 1967 with her first husband, Dutch nobleman and wildlife photographer Baron Hugo van Lawick,” according to Jane Goodall.org. “In 1975, she married Derek Bryceson, director of Tanzania’s national parks, who died in 1980.”

According to People, Goodall was married to van Lawick from 1964 to 1974. Both of her husbands helped Goodall with her work, TMZ reported.

Jane Goodall’s 1st Husband Hugo Van Lawick Corroborated Her Observations on the Chimps Through His Photographs

Goodall told Alex Cooper how she met Van Lawick on the Call Her Daddy podcast.

“They wanted to make a film and they wanted good photographs, so they sent Hugo van Lawick and I really didn’t want him to come,” she told Cooper.

“I hadn’t met him because I just wanted to be there with the chimps, you know. I didn’t want anybody and I was afraid they’d be scared of him and, you know, all my hard work would be undone.”

She added that his photographs were important. “It was thanks to his photos and film that everything I was saying about the chimps was corroborated,” she told Cooper, adding: “And so he really, really helped to share the knowledge that chimpanzees really are like us. They really do have gestures and postures the same as ours that mean the same thing.”

Distance pulled them apart, she said on the podcast, adding, “He had to go on with his career and he got some money to do films on the Serengeti, and I couldn’t leave Gombe.”

According to Jane Goodall.org: “Dr. Goodall’s field research in Gombe revolutionized the field of primatology. In one of the longest-running field studies of any species, she documented her observations that chimpanzees have distinct personalities, minds and emotions and form lasting family relationships.”

Jane Goodall’s Marriage to 2nd Husband Derek Bryceson Lasted 5 Years

Goodall told People that both of her husbands played a role in her work.

She said that, if she had not married Bryceson, “There wouldn’t be a Gombe today. If Hugo hadn’t come along, the chimp story [probably] would have ended.”

He died of cancer after a five-year marriage to Goodall, according to TMZ.

Goodall added that she didn’t ever want to marry for a third time.

,” she said, before going on to explain why she “didn’t want” to marry for a third time after her second husband died in 1980.

“I didn’t meet the right person, I suppose, or potentially the right person,” she told People. “I had lots of men friends, many. I had lots of women friends too. My life was complete. I didn’t need a husband.”

They’ll be available as a 3- or 4-piece ala carte item or as part of a combo meal with two dipping sauces.

Additionally, Wendy’s is offering a new eating experience with packaging “built for dunking”, which includes a dip-cup cutout box that holds your choice of dipping sauces.

What Reviewers Are Saying

Fans are already taking to Reddit to share their reviews. “Wendy’s did something with these. Brooks’ Weatherized Adrenaline GTS 24s Are a ‘Godsend’ for Year Round Running, and They’re on Sale for $110

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Why We Love This Deal

If you put in the hard miles running outdoors all summer long, you don’t want to be limited indoors through fall and winter. This means finding running shoes that can handle wet pavement, sloppy conditions, and chilly winds. Most aren’t built for harsh elements, which can leave your feet soaked, but luckily, Brooks released a weatherized version of its beloved Adrenaline series that’s ready to keep your training momentum going. While they generally are a higher price, the brand just put a rare discount on them—but they’re selling out fast.

Brooks’ Adrenaline GTS 24 Weatherized Running Shoes are now just $110, a rare 27% discount off their regular price of $150. Designed to provide you with all the support and grip you need in a package that can withstand all the elements, they have quickly become a fan favorite.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Color: Black and yellow
  • Sizes: 7 to 15
  • Weight: 10.6 ounces
  • Heel-to-toe Drop: 12mm
  • Support: High

Building on Adrenaline’s popular lineup of stability running shoes, this GTS 24 version features a weatherized finish, meaning they’re water-resistant and have enhanced outsoles for ultimate traction. If the leaves are falling and your runs are wet and rainy, they provide excellent traction and will work just as well for winter training.

To keep them on the lighter side, these shoes have a 10.6-ounce build with a 12-millimeter drop, resulting in a more balanced shoe similar to what you would find in this lineup. They pair Brooks’ signature GuideRains support with plush and soft cushioning for a smooth-running experience.

While you may think that a weatherproof shoe would breathe well (looking at your GoreTex), these shoes are crafted from temperature-regulating materials. They allow your feet to stay warm during chilly runs while avoiding overheating. If you do need that extra warmth, you can easily toss on some thicker socks, and you won’t feel like your feet are smashed or jam-packed inside, either.

What Shoppers Are Saying

Runners love that these sneakers have the feel of the original make with a tougher build from the weatherizing process. Even more surprisingly, they don’t have additional weight that’s expected from a weatherproof shoe. One runner called this lineup a “Godsend” as they continue their running both on roads and light trails all winter long, keeping their feet “warm, dry, and supported.”

Another noted that this model is much better than the regular model, with improved traction, stiffer weatherproof materials, and more cushioning on the inside, which “makes this feel much better than the normal 24s.” They claimed that even if you don’t need weatherproofing, this one is “more comfortable and better made.”

When Brooks running shoes get a discount, they sell through fast, and this weatherized Adrenaline is following suit with a low stock on select sizes. Hurry fast to secure your pair.

Viral Trader Joe’s Mini Totes Return With a Twist

Fans went crazy when Trader Joe’s released their mini tote bags in fun spring colors in 2024. Diehard fans can likely expect the same frenzy when the grocer drops their latest collection.

TJ’s mini tote bags are set to hit stores on Wednesday, October 8, just in time for spooky season. The 13 x 11 x 6 inch canvas bags will have a Halloween theme upon release.

The bags come in four color options: solid black, solid orange, solid purple and a black bag with purple, orange and green accents.

If the previous drop is any indication, shoppers can expect excessively long lines before the store opens. Lines for the first collection wrapped around the building in many locations as resellers loaded their carts and immediately listed their finds for exponentially more on sites like eBay.

Subsequent drops in September 2024 and April 2025 were met with similar fervor.

Trader Joe’s reportedly confirmed that each store will be expected to receive 250 cases of 50 bags each, the Reno Gazette Journal claimed.

Tarantino Classic Returns to Theaters With Never-Before-Seen Footage

Quentin Tarantino recently called Kill Bill “the ultimate Quentin movie.” Now, fans of the epic can enjoy it on the big screen once again as it is set to return to theaters.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair — which includes both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 — will be released in theaters as one complete movie on December 5.

According to Deadline, the conjoined film will remove both, the cliffhanger from the end of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and the recap from the beginning of Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Instead, moviegoers will be shown seven and a half minutes of a never-before-seen animated sequence.

“I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie,” Tarantino said. “The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theater in Glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”

The famed director opened up about the “ultimate” film during an appearance on the “The Church of Tarantino” podcast in August.

“Nobody else could’ve made it,” he said of the 2003 film starring Uma Thurman. “Every aspect about it is so particularly ripped, like with tentacles and bloody tissue, from my imagination and my id and my loves and my passion and my obsession. So I think Kill Bill is the movie I was born to make.”

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was walking on the Paris fashion show runway just one day after her mom’s divorce filing.

According to InStyle, she “strutted in Christian Dior’s Spring/Summer 2026 designs at the star-studded show.” In 2024, Sunday Rose walked the catwalk in a Miu Miu show, the stie reported.

Keith Urban Said ‘The Fighter’ Lyrics Were ‘Like a Vow’ Before Maggie Baugh Video

Rising country star Maggie Baugh caused controversy and generated headlines when she posted a video to her Instagram page that showed Keith Urban changing the lyrics to his song, “The Fighter.”

Baugh, who is a utility singer on Urban’s concert tour, wrote, “Did he just say that👀” alongside the video, which showed Baugh and Urban singing together on stage.

Some fans were upset. “Why in the world would you post this?” wrote one person in the comment thread on Baugh’s Instagram page. The video was posted on September 27. That’s two days before news broke that Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman, had separated. She has now filed for divorce.

The song’s original lyrics read, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” but Urban sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.”

That has some people wondering what Urban has said about “The Fighter” song in the past, including its inspiration.

Keith Urban Initially Sang ‘The Fighter’ as a Duet With Carrie Underwood

Before the 25-year-old Maggie Baugh, Urban sang the song famously with Carrie Underwood as a duet.

In 2017, Urban explained to Billboard “how a talk with Kidman had served as the inspiration for ‘The Fighter.'”

“It’s all from a conversation my wife and I had early on in our relationship, that when things get tough, I need to hold her tighter and just try to take care of her,” he told Billboard at the time.

“The song is about wanting to heal somebody, wanting to take care of somebody, wanting to protect somebody. It’s really like a vow in so many ways.”

‘The Fighter’ Developed When Keith Urban Was Playing a ‘Supportive Role’ to Nicole Kidman, Reports Say

Kidman and Urban married in 2006 and went on to have two daughters together.

Billboard reported that “The Fighter” developed while Urban “was playing the supportive role in his marriage, spending time in London” with Kidman, who was starring in a West End production at the time.

Urban wrote the chorus to the song during an Uber ride, Billboard reported.

“She’s female and tender, and I want that tenderness to not have to get hardened to the world,” Urban told Billboard of Kidman then. “That’s my job as her husband, to put myself around her so she can remain that way. And that’s really the chorus of ‘The Fighter.’ ”

TSA Faces a Major Problem Amid Government Shutdown

At midnight on Wednesday, the United States federal government shut down after Congress failed to pass a budget, forcing hundreds of thousands of federal employees nationwide into furlough until lawmakers reach an agreement.

While some industries across the country will be largely unaffected by the government shutdown, it is a particularly big problem for the airline industry, particularly the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Government Shut Down

According to a report from Reuters, the government shutdown was caused by “deep partisan divisions” as Congress and the White House were not able to come to an agreement on a federal budget.

The outlet reported that the government shutdown could begin what it described as “a long, grueling standoff” that could impact the airline industry.

“There was no clear path out of the impasse, while agencies warned that the 15th government shutdown since 1981 would halt the release of a closely watched September employment report, slow air travel, suspend scientific research, withhold pay from U.S. troops and lead to the furlough of 750,000 federal workers at a daily cost of $400 million.” Reuters wrote on Wednesday.

Major Problem for TSA

The impact of the government shutdown will vary greatly across industries, with some feeling little to no impact while others are substantially impacted. The airline industry is expected to be among those substantially impacted, and much of that will be felt by the TSA.

When the government has shut down in the past, it has led to staffing shortages as TSA workers were forced to work for deferred paychecks. If the shutdown is long-lasting, those workers will eventually be unable to afford to continue coming in to work.

“It’s gonna keep being business as usual until the money runs out for the people coming to work every day,” said Sean O’Dell, secretary of AFG 615, which is the union that represents the TSA officers at John Glen International Airport in Columbus, Ohio. “It’ll get to a point where we can’t afford to pay for gas to come in. People can’t afford to pay for childcare. They won’t be able to do their everyday lives because they’ll be broke.”

Obviously, this is a pretty significant problem for the TSA that could cause bottlenecks and delays at airport security checkpoints across the country if the agency is understaffed.
