Usually, a player getting claimed by an NFL team is something to celebrate; that’s likely not the case for Defensive End Jack Pyburn. Pyburn was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after recording four sacks this preseason. He was open about his intention to return to college to play out his final year of eligibility at LSU.
Pyburn was in this situation only because he was part of the 2022 recruiting class, which did not receive an extra year of eligibility due to COVID, and wasn’t part of the NCAA’s new five seasons of eligibility in five years rule.
Initially, the SEC planned not to allow players who have gone to the NFL to return to college. However, a judge ruled that the conference must allow the players to return. Pybrun spent last season with LSU after transferring from Florida.
Pyburn was a part of a lawsuit alongside 30 other players that won a temporary restraining order allowing them to play this season. If the players chose that route, they would have to terminate their professional contracts and repay any money already earned. The SEC has already released a strong statement about the players attempting to return.
“Individuals who choose to leave college athletics, sign professional playing contracts, and compete professionally should not then be permitted to return to college competition.”
With the conference likely planning to fight this ruling, it makes sense for Pyburn to focus on his NFL future. This could drag on for a long time, and with the college football season officially starting this weekend, Pyburn would likely waste his time waiting for a ruling that might not even go in his favor.
Pyburn has shown he can contribute at defensive end, and joining an organization like the Kansas City Chiefs might be more appealing than giving college football another chance.

Professor Layton isn’t technically a Nintendo exclusive anymore. When the latest game in the series comes out finally, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, it will be a multiplatform release.
Still, for years these awesome point-and-click puzzle games were confined to the Nintendo DS and 3DS, and it those consoles were the perfect home for them. Accessible but still challenging, Professor Layton’s games are perfect for adults and children alike.
F-Zero
A lot of people know or have heard of F-Zero, but not as many people have actually tried it. Starring Captain Falcon, better known as a fighter in Super Smash Bros., this racing series is more than a little intense and probably one of the franchises that caters to older gamers rather than children in Nintendo’s catalogue. It’s been out of commission for quite a while now, but with revived series like Star Fox having success, Nintendo might just consider bringing it back.

Over the past several months, Southwest Airlines has undergone a massive brand transformation as it looks to boost profits and compete with legacy carriers like Delta, United, and American. While that effort has been largely successful, it’s clear that the airline still has a way to go before it’s on the same solid footing as those other carriers.
Throughout August, Southwest’s stock fell considerably compared to its competitors, indicating that despite all of these changes, Southwest might not be in as strong a position as the airlines it is attempting to compete with.
Southwest Has Made Changes
Southwest Airlines was once a carrier favored by budget-conscious travelers with its free bags, low fares, and democratic seating options. Recently, however, Southwest has been transitioning a bit as it looks to add more premium offerings to its customers.
While moving away from its open-seating policy, Southwest Airlines also added premium seating options for the first time. While not true first-class seats, the new premium seats do offer additional legroom to travelers.
Additionally, with its decision to begin charging for checked luggage, Southwest was able to add an incentive to get one of its co-branded credit cards, as Southwest Rapid Rewards credit cardholders receive their first checked bag free for themselves and up to eight additional passengers on the same reservation.
Southwest is continuing to add perks as well, especially for its most premium customers, as the airline is moving forward with brand new airport lounges that could be ready sooner than you think.
Southwest Gets Bad News
While these changes seem to have Southwest headed in the right direction by boosting profits while largely maintaining customer satisfaction, it’s clear that Southwest still is not as stable as the other legacy carriers, and that was made pretty clear this month.
Over the past several months, the price of jet fuel has soared, resulting in challenges for all airlines throughout the industry. Southwest, however, has seemingly been hit the hardest of any of its competitors.
As 247 Wall St. points out, Southwest saw its stock price fall by 14% throughout the month of August, which is a greater fall than any of the other major airlines in the United States and a well-known airline sector fund.
While all the other airlines saw their stock dip as well, with Delta’s stock down 11%, American down 12%, and United down 11%, Southwest’s stock dip sticks out amongst the group, indicating that despite all the changes to help bolster the company, Southwest is still not as resilient to economic factors as its competitors.
The return of a former WWE NXT North American Champion is reportedly on the horizon.
According to PWI Elite (h/t Wrestling Inc.), Bronson Reed is “100% expected back full-time on the Raw roster this month.” The Vision member has been on the shelf since Feb. 23, 2026 due to a torn bicep sustained in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on Monday Night Raw. He underwent surgery for the injury a few days later.

Reed was reportedly slated to win his Men’s Elimination Chamber qualifier that also involved Jey Uso and the Original El Grande Americano. Had he emerged victorious, he would have joined the likes of Randy Orton, Je’Von Evans, LA Knight, Trick Williams, and Cody Rhodes inside the caged structure, with a world title match at WrestleMania 42 on the line. Jey Uso won instead, then was replaced by Reed’s Vision stablemate Logan Paul.
The exact time and place for Reed’s on-screen comeback has not been confirmed, though the outlet previously reported it could possibly happen as soon as WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event, which will take place on Sept. 6 in Atlanta. Prior to his injury-related hiatus, WWE positioned Reed as a regular fixture on the Raw brand.
WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event Card
Bron Breakker, another stablemate of Reed’s, will be in action at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event as he takes on Oba Femi, with both fighting to prove who the future of WWE is. Elsewhere, Grammy-nominated rapper Lil Yachty will make his in-ring debut, and if he can survive five minutes against United States Champion Baron Corbin, his friend Trick Williams will receive a title shot.
Rounding out the SNME wrestling lineup, former Legacy members Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will collide with one another, while the trio of Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Tatum Paxley faces Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab.

Patrick Clancy, the former husband of Lindsay Clancy, was spotted looking tense during the trial with his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis.
TMZ published photos showing the two in a “tense” conversation. According to the publication, Clancy and his new wife were “looking stressed’ as they spoke in New York, where they live. Patrick Clancy has been the subject of controversy during his ex-wife’s trial.
Lindsay Clancy is being tried in Massachusetts for the strangulation deaths of their three children. A jury has deadlocked over whether she was criminally responsible for the deaths, but the judge ordered jurors to keep trying on September 1. The defense argues that Lindsay was over-medicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis; the prosecutor argues that the deaths, which Lindsay admits she caused, were premeditated.
According to TMZ, Patrick “was seen taking phone calls and pacing in circles while using his phone” as the pair sat on an apartment rooftop.
Patrick Clancy’s New Wife Rachel Danis Is a Fertility Doctor
Patrick married a fertility doctor, according to The New York Post.
Dr. Rachel Danis is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at RMA of New York and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai.
According to Fox News, Patrick filed for divorce from Lindsay in February 2024; he moved to New York about four months after the children’s 2023 deaths.
He married Danis in Central Park in 2026, Fox News reported. Kevin Reddington, Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, said iPatrick “suffered one of the worst tragedies that anyone could ever suffer,” Fox News reported.
“How that guy is not an emotional basket case is beyond me, and he is trying hard to move on with his life. As the court is aware, they’re divorced, he’s remarried, he has a family,” Reddington said.
“Dr. Rachel Danis is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at RMA of New York and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai,” her professional bio says.
Patrick Clancy Has Started a Foundation to Change ‘How Parents Are Cared For’

In addition to being remarried and testifying at Lindsay’s trial (he previously wrote that he has forgiven her), Patrick started a new foundation called Heard.
“We’re building a movement to change how parents are cared for—so no parent faces perinatal mental illness in silence and no family is left behind. At Heard, every parent deserves to be listened to, supported, and surrounded by care,” the website says. “Born from profound loss and bound by love, the Heard Foundation was founded in memory of Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy.”
The website says that on January 24, 2023, Patrick Clancy’s “world changed forever when his three beloved children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—were lost amid their mother’s struggle with postpartum psychosis.”
“In the earliest days of unimaginable grief, Pat made a promise: that their lives would always be remembered, and that he would work to ensure no other family endures the same heartbreak. From his grief grew purpose, hope, and a shared resolve to do better,” it adds.
In 2024, the Heard Foundation “was founded by Pat and his sisters, Erin Donahue and Laura Sullivan. What began as a family promise became a community-powered movement—one grounded in empathy, action, and love,” the website continues.
It’s Not True That Patrick Clancy Has a New Baby
Critics online have spread the rumor that Patrick and his wife have a new baby. However, according to Fox News, that is not true. Patrick and Danis “have no children together, though she has spoken publicly about wanting to become a mother,” Fox News reported.
“I remember when I first froze my eggs, I felt like, I mean, even sometimes still, feel like this black sheep,” Danis said on theFertility Forward podcast in September 2024. “I think for women, it’s just really hard. We have so much pressure to balance career and personal growth, but like, we’re riddled with this fertility stuff.”
After more than three decades away from the road, Triumph isn’t necessarily done making new music.
The Canadian rock band returned to touring earlier this year for the first time in more than 30 years, reuniting original members Rik Emmett and Gil Moore for a run that proved there was still plenty of demand for the band’s classic-rock sound.
Now, Moore says new music is among the possibilities the group is considering.
“As far as actually [doing] new recording [of new music], I guess we’ll have to see if that comes to pass,” Moore told Ultimate Classic Rock.
“But yeah, there’s been some chatter about it.”
That’s not an official announcement of a new Triumph album, but it is a notable development for fans who thought the band’s 2026 reunion would be a one-time celebration.
The first leg of the Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded tour moved more than 135,000 tickets, according to Ultimate Classic Rock, and the response helped prompt Triumph to add 16 more U.S. shows.
The second leg begins Nov. 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with April Wine returning as the opening act.
The band also has a documentary about the comeback tour in the works for 2027, along with an authorized bootleg series featuring recordings from Triumph’s archives.
After waiting more than 30 years to see the band back on the road, fans may not have to wait nearly as long for whatever comes next. There could be new music from Triumph in the near future.
In a world where RPGs have playtimes of over 100 hours, it is sort of refreshing to have one clock in at a reasonable length. In an interview at Gamescom, Polygon learned from Will Kennedy, an associate game director, that the main story of the upcoming game Fable will take roughly 20 hours to complete.
“We have around 15-20 hours of mainline quest gameplay, we have around 15-20 of side and open-world exploration content gameplay, and then, of course, the life systems are limitless, so you can play them for as long as you want.”
The revelation has sparked a debate on social media about how long RPGs should be. Gaming YouTuber MrMattyPlays chimed in to express his appreciation for shorter RPGs.

I’m of two minds when it comes to this debate; on the one hand, I do love to sink my teeth into a game with a lot of meat. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is my favorite game of all time, and you can easily put 100 hours into it without realizing it. On the other hand, with so many games out there right now, having something a bit more straightforward and easy to cross off the backlog list is appealing. Is it so appealing that I’m rushing to pay $70 for it? That remains to be seen.
I can understand why some players feel that this is unacceptable; everyone is trying to get the most bang for their buck, so paying full price for a 20-hour game might not appeal to them. I can also understand people looking at 100-plus-hour games and being put off, since in many instances these runtimes are inflated by repetitive missions that feel more like padding than something substantial and worth a player’s time.

Karl-Anthony Towns of the New York Knicks isn’t just an NBA star but also an avid sports card collector. And his latest addition to the collection might be his most impressive yet.
On Aug. 28, a one-of-one Aaron Judge dual Gold Logoman patch autograph card sold through Fanatics Collect for an astonishing $900K. The identity of the buyer remained a mystery until Monday, when Towns revealed on social media that he was the one who bought it.
For those unfamiliar with the card, it features two Gold Logoman patches. MLB players typically wear the league’s traditional red, white, and blue logo on the back neckline of their jerseys, but players who won major awards the previous season get a special gold version for the following year.
For Judge, who won back-to-back American League MVP awards in 2024 and 2025, the one-of-a-kind card features a patch from each MVP season along with his autograph, creating the type of card collectors salivate over.
The Judge card joins an already impressive collection for Towns. He also owns a one-of-one Max Verstappen autograph card and an Anthony Edwards one-of-one “Aura” card that he purchased from Topps.
Towns has appropriately dubbed his collection the “Big Bodega Vault,” playing off the “Bodega KAT” nickname he received after being acquired by the Knicks. Still, at $900K, his latest addition has to rank among the most expensive cards in his collection.
However, the $900K purchase isn’t the most expensive Judge card ever sold, with a few others fetching even higher prices. The record belongs to Judge’s 2013 Bowman Chrome Draft Pick Autograph Superfractor one-of-one, which sold for an insane $5.2 million this past March.
For Towns, though, the card carries some extra meaning beyond its massive price tag. He grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey, as a die-hard Yankees fan, making the chance to own one of the rarest Judge cards even more special.
For a collector and lifelong Yankees fan, it’s hard to imagine a much better addition to the vault.
