According to police in New Hampshire, Cher’s son was arrested in Feb. 27 after acting violently at a school he’s not affiliated with.

Elijah Blue Allman Arrested

Elijah Blue Allman, 49, son of Greg Allman and Cher, was booked at the Merrimack County jail in New Hampshire after police were called to an elite private high school.

Allman was charged with simple assault, criminal trespass, and criminal threatening. It’s unclear why he was there in the first place. He mostly lives in Southern California. He was also charged with disorderly conduct.

On, Sunday, March 1, the search for Nancy Guthrie, the mom of NBC “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, officially entered its second month, and now, an expert is revealing a new principle in the case.

Nancy Guthrie went missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home on Feb. 1. One of the questions that has arisen from the investigation is what the suspect had in his pocket when he was spotted at her property.

Now, Tracy Walder, a former FBI agent and CIA officer, is giving her thoughts on what looks to be an antenna, or something similar, in the man’s pocket.

Nancy Guthrie Update Today: Investigative Expert Shares Update From the Scene

In an interview on Saturday, February 28, on an episode of the Brian Entin Investigates podcast, Walder discusses what’s the suspect’s pocket, which people have though was a walkie talkie or a signal jammer.

While Walder confirms that she “can’t confirm what’s in his pocket,” she has an idea. She’s heavily leaning to the walkie talkie theory.

“The walkie talkie makes sense in the fact that… I feel a getaway vehicle is gonna be critical in this case if there’s someone else that helped, and so that would be a way — obviously you wouldn’t want to use a cell phone — that would be a way in a short range to communicate with someone to bring a car to a certain location. That’s why I can get on board with the walkie talkie theory,” she stated on the show.

While she’s leaving towards the walkie talkie idea, Walder also says you can’t rule out the idea of it being a signal jammer.

“In terms of the signal jammer, that makes sense as well, but the home, in and of itself,” she said. “I’m not seeing that he took any devices with him. So, I can see the possibility of both. I don’t think we can discredit either.”

Digital Forensics May Hold the Key in the Nancy Guthrie Case, Expert Says

Heather Barnhart, a digital forensics expert with the SANS Institute and Cellebrite, says digital forensics may help reveal the suspect.

“People forget how much their data spreads across devices. So the same thing that makes investigations hard make it hard for criminals to clean up,” said Barnhart, who was one of the people who investigated the University of Idaho murders.

“Your phone is the silent witness to your life. It knows everything you do,” Barnhart stated. “So forming those patterns and then looking for any anomaly of someone trying to hide their digital footprint is key here.”

Nancy Guthrie Case Shifts as Fewer Reporters Are on the Scene

On Sunday, March 1, Fox News reporter Michael Ruiz shared an update from the scene. “A gun-toting, masked man believed to be involved in her abduction remains unidentified and at large — and he may have had accomplices,” he stated in a post on X.

He added that the media presence at the scene has gone down and has even been “greatly diminished,” but that some remain who are committed to bringing Nancy Guthrie home.

One month after Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson home, retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer questioned why Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni’s car still hadn’t been returned despite family clearances.

Ex-FBI Breakdown: Why Annie’s Car Remains in Custody

On February 27, 2026, a true crime correspondent for Arizona’s CBS 5, Briana Whitney, reported that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is still holding Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni’s car. She revealed that she’d received the following statement from officials on the status of the vehicle. “All we can say right now, the vehicle is still part of the investigation.”

Jennifer Coffindaffer is a retired FBI Special Agent and former SWAT Team member who now contributes to NewsNation. On March 1, 2026, she published a video on her YouTube channel, “Break The Case with Jen Coffindaffer FBI,” in which she discussed the police not returning the Guthrie family car. In doing so, she expressed that she was going to debunk the idea that the vehicle not being returned yet means that the police suspect Annie Guthrie or Tommaso Cioni.

“I do want to talk about this because a lot of people have been saying this. I want to debunk this right now. ‘But Jen, they have their cars or car. They seized the car.'” She also pointed out that officials appear to be holding on to several vehicles related to the case. “Let’s talk about the car that they have. We know they have that car because I saw Chris Nanos talk about it. ‘Yes, we have the car. We’re still looking at it.’ I also think they have the Range Rover. At least we have no information that they don’t have the Range Rover. How about Nancy’s car? I didn’t see that pulled back in that garage. They are still processing everything.”

Coffindaffer stressed that investigators will process all evidence, including family-related items, but she doesn’t believe that they are suspects. Coffindaffer explained she believes that the police aren’t looking at Annie Guthrie or Tommaso Cioni because they haven’t sought probable cause search warrants.

“Those vehicles are going to be looked at. Are they looking at somebody that they might know? I don’t know. But I can tell you what is important… As soon as it was released that it was a consent search, so their searches have been consent searches. In other words, law enforcement didn’t have any probable cause to believe they were involved. They got consent. If they had probable cause, I could tell you this as an FBI agent. If I have probable cause, I’m not going to get consent.”

Coffindaffer continued, “Why would I use consent when I know that in a court of law, it’s going to be argued that the person was coerced. The person didn’t really give the consent. The FBI agent made it up. You know, all the things that can happen. Well, you can’t do that with a search warrant because a search warrant is signed off on by a judge, a federal judge, and says you’ve got probable cause here. So that’s always the route you’re going to use in this situation if you have it. They didn’t have it.”

Ultimately, Coffindaffer theorized that the police could still be holding the car to look for evidence that the kidnapper tracked Nancy from Annie and Tommaso’s home.

“Is it possible that they could have been in (Nancy Guthrie’s) neighborhood waiting for her to get home? It’s possible. But is it also possible that she was tracked from Annie and Tommaso’s house? Is it possible a tracker could have been put on there? Is it possible that a person could have interfaced with that car and thus they’re looking at fingerprints? They’re looking at possible DNA.

In addition to Coffindaffer’s analysis, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has publicly cleared the Guthrie family. Still, his plea for the rumors about the Guthrie family to stop makes her commentary a valuable and timely pushback against those still looking for reasons to point fingers.

The U.S. Department of State has been on alert following America’s airstrikes on Iran this weekend. On Sunday, the State Department officially increased its travel advisory level for Qatar in the Middle East.

The State Department frequently updates its extensive library of travel warnings for foreign countries. Designed to help travelers assess risks and make plans before venturing abroad, the Department of State’s travel warnings are separated into four categories, ranging from Level 1 (least concerning) to Level 4.

Qatar is now at a Level 3 – “Reconsider travel.”

What are the four U.S. travel warning levels?

Travel advisories range from Level 1 –“Exercise normal precautions”–to Level 4–“Do Not Travel.”

Here’s a look at what each level means:

• Level 1: “Exercise normal precautions” – The lowest risk level, reserved for countries that are generally safe. Countries in this group include as Australia, Canada, Greece, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea.
• Level 2: “Exercise increased caution” – Certain parts of the country may carry increased risks such as theft, crime or terrorism. Besides Grenada, countries currently under Level 2 advisory include Brazil, China, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
• Level 3: “Reconsider travel” – Citizens are urged to reconsider travel plans, due to “serious risks and security.” Besides Pakistan, this advisory level includes Colombia, Guatemala, Israel and the West Bank, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Uganda.
• Level 4: “Do not travel” – The most severe advisory level, due to possible “life-threatening risks.” The United States may not be able to help guests in case of an emergency, and asks citizens not to visit or leave as soon as possible. Countries in this category include Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine and Yemen.

The State Department typically reviews Level 1 and 2 advisories every 12 months and Level 3 and 4 warnings every six months.

Why has the travel warning level for Qatar been increased?

According to the latest update from the State Department, American citizens are urged to “reconsider travel” to Qatar due to “threat of armed conflict.

“Following the onset of hostilities between the United States and Iran on February 28, there has been an ongoing threat of drone and missile attacks from Iran and significant disruptions to commercial flights,” the State Department said.

The State Department also authorized any non-emergency U.S. government employees and family members of government personnel to leave Qatar due to safety concerns.

“The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) and/or a Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) for the region, including Qatar,” the State Department added. “This is due to risks to civil aviation from political and military tensions in the region.  The notice advises U.S. operators to review current threat information and to report safety or security incidents.”

More than a month into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, no suspects have been named. Two men were briefly detained for questioning and released within 24 hours. The FBI has shifted its command post from Tucson to Phoenix. And last Tuesday, Savannah Guthrie released an emotional video acknowledging that her mother “may already be gone.”

To many following the case, it has the appearance of an investigation running out of road. Law enforcement even reportedly told TMZ this was becoming a “cold case.” But one of the country’s most respected law enforcement analysts says that interpretation is wrong.

“This is nowhere near a cold case,” CNN Chief Law Enforcement Analyst John Miller said flatly.

What is Happening With the Nancy Guthrie Case?

Miller’s assessment isn’t wishful thinking — it’s rooted in what he knows is still actively in motion. The $1 million reward announced by the Guthrie family on Tuesday has already re-energized the tip pipeline, which was part of the strategy all along. “They still have leads that are viable that they need to get to, including new leads that came in because of the strategy of holding back the big reward until the time it was needed to re-energize the lead bucket,” Miller said.

He also pointed to science that hasn’t come back yet — DNA samples, trace evidence, and investigative threads that simply take time. “There are still investigators working leads that they’re not finished with,” he said. “If we’re having this conversation a year and a half from now, that would be a cold case. But right now, the current nature is pretty opaque, so we can’t say it has gone cold.”

Biggest Questions Driving the Investigation

Miller outlined the three central questions investigators are focused on as the case enters its next phase.

The first is the most fundamental: What happened to Nancy Guthrie? Whether she is alive or deceased shapes everything about how the investigation proceeds. “With a victim who is still alive, there is a certain sense of urgency with a life hanging in the balance,” Miller said. “With a victim who you either know or presume is likely dead, the investigation can slow down and in fact even become more meticulous.”

The second question is motive. Was this a kidnapping for ransom from the start — or something else that was reengineered after things went wrong? Miller pointed to the blood found outside Nancy’s front door as a significant detail. “Whatever type of crime it started as, things began to go wrong very quickly,” he said. Two ransom notes were received and treated as credible, but communications stopped abruptly after they arrived — raising the possibility, Miller suggested, that someone crafted them to disguise a home invasion that had already turned violent.

The third question is whether law enforcement has a long-term plan. Complex criminal cases can take months or years to resolve, and Miller cautioned against reading the slower pace of coverage as a sign of stalled progress. DNA recovered both inside and outside Nancy’s home has not matched any profiles in CODIS — the FBI’s nationwide DNA database — but that doesn’t mean it won’t eventually lead somewhere.

“We’ve got DNA from inside the house and DNA from outside — which may or may not be connected to the crime — that don’t register in CODIS,” Miller said. The work of matching that evidence to a suspect continues.

As expected, Cooper Flagg has been one of the NBA’s most impressive rookies this season. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen the Dallas Mavericks forward in a couple of weeks.

Flagg has not played since suffering a left foot sprain on Feb. 10. Unable to help his team on the court, he’s focused on staying engaged and developing off of it.

“It’s just a part of of being on the team, being a competitor. wanting to help my team win no matter what,” Flagg told Men’s Journal this weekend. “So just showing up and doing what I can, telling the guys what I see, trying to help them in a lot of different ways, even if I can’t do the job there.”

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Flagg entered the league with considerable hype. He was immediately embraced by Mavs fans, many of whom came out to meet him in person at the AT&T Dunk Bus stop in Dallas Saturday.

“The fans have been amazing. Ever since I got here, day one, they’ve been really supportive and they’ve showed up in a big way,” Flagg said. “Obviously, the season hasn’t gone the way we wanted it to, but the fans have done their part and showed up all the way through. Events like this are a great opportunity to connect with fans and just spend time.”

Flagg makes quick leap to pro game

The Duke University product has been as advertised in his first pro season, averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists over 49 games.

The current favorite to win Rookie of the Year, Flagg said being able to “prepare my body and prepare my mind and be ready” is something he was focused on before his injury. As far as adjustments go, it wasn’t all about the game itself.

“There’s a ton of adjustments, but I would say one of the big thing is just mentally,” he explained. “It’s a huge difference from the lifestyle and everything like that in college to being professional and carrying yourself the right way at all times. You know, you just have to be a pro. So I’d say just mentally changing and growing is a lot of differences.”

LA 2028 on the horizon?

Flagg won a gold medal with USA Basketball at the FIBA Under-17 World Cup in 2022. The 2028 Olympics are a little more than two years away, and the most recent roster projections for the American squad all include Flagg.

Suiting up for the red, white and blue in Los Angeles is something Flagg has on his mind.

“Playing for Team USA has always been a dream of mine. It’s always been a huge honor for me,” Flagg said. “When I was younger, playing for the under-17 team, it was such an honor to be able to play for your country in any way.

“It’s going to be a dream come true for me, and obviously something that I would love to do. And if I get that opportunity, that would be amazing. I think that’s one of the greatest honors you can have in our sport, and I really look forward to having the opportunity.”

For now though, the focus is on rehabbing, and then once the offseason rolls around, working on his overall game for year two.

“There’s a lot I want to improve on,” Flagg said. “I just want to continue to work and grow at getting comfortable with the ball in my hand. I’ll try and learn and get better at making reads, faster, quicker, being more decisive, shooting, defense. I mean, you can work on everything. There’s always room for growth, so just keep trying to get better.”

On March 1, 1975, a classic rock song became a No. 1 hit, marking a significant moment in music history because of what it meant for one of the biggest bands of all time.

After the Eagles first released their song “Best of My Love” from their album “On the Border” on November 5, 1974, it took roughly four months for it to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. While the track only remained in the top slot for one week after it ascended on March 1, 1975, that achievement changed the band’s trajectory going forward.

Why the Eagles’ Song ‘Best of My Love’ Reaching No. 1 Matters So Much

It is easy to think that the Eagles were always unstoppable since there are several reasons to recognize them as one of the most successful bands of all time. For example, in August 2018, the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) certified the Eagles’ “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975” as the best-selling album of all time in the United States, with “Hotel California” ranking third. On top of that, the Eagles remain so beloved that people still want to know how to get tickets to their upcoming concerts.

In reality, “Best of My Love” was their very first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 so it represented a watershed moment for the group. Four more of the Eagles’ songs would top the chart in the years that followed: “Heartache Tonight,” “Hotel California,” “New Kid In Town,” and “One Of These Nights.”

Even now, more than five decades after the song was released, “Best of My Love” is still a radio staple and one of the Eagles’ most recognizable tracks. Notable for its vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar, the song highlights the best of the band’s early laid-back sound, before they embraced a harder rock style. Just as importantly, the song’s lyrics speak to almost anyone who has felt love slipping away.

During a discussion with the Hollywood director and music expert Cameron Crowe, the song’s main lyricist, Don Henley, discussed what the band was going through when “Best of My Love” was written.

“That was the period when there were all these great-looking girls who didn’t really want to have anything to do with us. We were just scruffy new kids who had no calling card. We could be cocky at times — which was really just a front — but we weren’t very sophisticated or confident. We were typical, frustrated, young men. We wanted the girls to like us, but we had all the immature emotions that young men have — jealousy, envy, frustration, lust, insecurity, and the lot. At the same time, however, we were also becoming quite adept at brushing off girls who showed any interest in us. ‘If you want to be with me, I can’t possibly give you the time of day. I want that girl over there who couldn’t care less if I live or die.’ Hence the line in ‘Desperado’: ‘You only want the ones that you can’t get.’ We knew ourselves even then.”

Days after Wu-Tang Clan announced the passing of co-founder Oliver “Power” Grant, the cause of death was announced. The news coincided with the hip hop group’s nomination to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He was 52.

Although he wasn’t a performer, he was served as executive producer on their first album, Enter the Wu-Tang and also helped fund the group in the early days.

Grant died following “a courageous and hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer,” his family and Wu-Tang Clan said in a joint statement to Rolling Stone.
