Hollywood director Antoine Fuqua is known for his blockbuster films, including a major upcoming role helming the Michael Jackson biopic. While doing press for that film, he’s also peeling back the layers on some of his cinema classics. how he knew the 2001 Oscar-nominated film, Training Day, with iconic actor Denzel Washington would be a legendary film. And it came down to two key moments, including one that was unscripted.

Two Moments That Stuck Out for Antoine Fuqua

“Humbly, I had two moments in that movie that I felt this was going to be successful,” Fuqua said recently on The Rich Eisen Show. 

In the film’s opening car scene, director Fuqua highlighted the interaction between Washington’s character, Alonzo Harris, and Ethan Hawke’s character, Jake Hoyt. It was during this moment that Washington delivered one of the movie’s most memorable lines: “chess, not checkers.”

“He had just killed Roger, and I thought if Denzel (which I knew he could because he’s a great actor), could seduce us back into this car, this movie’s out of here,” Fuqua explained. “And he did. And then they put Ethan in the bathtub.”

The second moment for Fuqua came during the apex of the movie, where Washington was outnumbered and decided to lash out at Hoyt for turning his back on him. Washington went off script and called himself “King Kong,” which became the most recognizable scene in the film.

“When he did that, gang members came up to me telling me, ‘Aw dude, this is a hit,’” Fuqua recalled. “Those two moments for me stand out.”

Fuqua, who has collaborated with the two-time Oscar winner on numerous films, including The Equalizer movie franchise, said the “King Kong moment” was largely improvised.

“He was just in a zone,” he said. “People talk about AI (Artificial Intelligence). Those are the moments where you go, it’s a great tool. It’s going to be a great tool I think at some point. But the emotion and the moment that an actor can bring? You can’t predict that. That’s just something that’s inside of Denzel, and when that came out, I was just like, ‘I hope I got it!’”

Antoine Fuqua Is Directing the Upcoming Michael Jackson Biopic

Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic directed by Fuqua, is set to be released in theaters on April 24.

“The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world,” the film synopsis says. 

“Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before.”

Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew, has been cast to portray the King of Pop in the film. The cast also features Colman Domingo as Joseph Jackson and Nia Long as Katherine Jackson.

To celebrate the upcoming release, Netflix is now streaming Jackson’s first movie, The Wiz, starring Diana Ross, Nipsey Russell, Ted Ross, Lena Horne, and Richard Pryor. The Wiz is a remake of the 1939 classic musical The Wizard of Oz.

Authorities in Spanish Fork, Utah, announced on Wednesday that they have definitively linked serial killer Ted Bundy to the murder of a teenager in 1974, closing the 52-year-old cold case.

Jan. 24 marked 37 years since Ted Bundy was executed in Florida after being convicted of over one-dozen murders. Though his exact number of victims is still up for speculation, authorities were able to close one cold case thanks to DNA evidence.

Per Sorina Trauntvein of WTNH, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office announced that DNA evidence linked Bundy to the 1974 murder of Laura Ann Aime, who was 17 at the time of her horrific murder.

Police collected DNA from Aime’s body and put it in the Combined NDA Index System, per Trauntvein. They got a positive match with Bundy’s DNA, providing closure for Aime’s family and friends more than 50 years later.

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety’s website, Aime was reported missing on Oct. 31, 1974. Hikers discovered her body off an embankment in American Fork Canyon Road, Utah.

If Bundy were alive, authorities would have sought the death penalty for the murder of Aime, said Sheriff Mike Smith.

Ted Bundy’s Confirmed Victims Count is 20

To date, authorities have linked 20 cold-blooded murders to Ted Bundy. He confessed to 30 murders, though officials haven’t been able to definitively link him to some of those crimes.

In 2015, DNA evidence helped police link Bundy to the 1974 murder of 17-year-old Debra Jean Kent in Utah. With the advancements in technology, authorities could still confirm more of Bundy’s victims in the coming years.

Bundy managed to escape from prison twice. He was finally captured for good after a police officer in Pensacola, Florida, pulled Bundy over for a stolen vehicle. After a brief struggle, the officer arrested Bundy, finally putting an end to his cold-blooded crimes.

One of the NFL’s brightest young stars is currently taking steps to improve his physical and mental health during a difficult offseason.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua checked into a holistic rehab facility in Malibu to aid his “personal growth”, his attorney Levi McCathern told the California Post.

Photos show Nacua at the facility at two separate dates in March, going in and out of the building as he met others.

McCathern said that Nacua’s decision to check himself into rehab was not directly related to allegations the wide receiver faced last month. A woman accused Nakua of biting her on the shoulder and of anti semitic remarks on New Year’s Eve.

The woman said the bite caused her “immediate and severe physical pain,” breaking her skin and leaving what she says is a visible mark on her shoulder.

McCathern says that Nakua did bite the woman, but that it was done as “horseplay” and without the intent to harm. The attorney does deny the anti semitic remarks, and says that the evidence will prove Nacua to be the prevailing party.

“They continue to make up stories trying to turn this minor episode into big dollars,” McCathern said. “In the end, they are going to be paying Puka and not the other way around.”

The attorney added that Nacua is expected to be out of rehab in “plenty of time” to make it to Rams OTAs (organized team activities) in May, and that the All-Pro wide receiver is “deeply grateful for the support he has received from his family, friends, [Rams] Coach [Sean] McVay and his teammates.”

“You guys know, I trust this kid’s heart,” McVay said about Nacua at the annual NFL meeting on Monday.

“Love him, put your arm around him, want to continue to help him grow. And, really, get all the appropriate facts before I rush to judgment on that particular situation. But I will say, knowing this guy for three years, is I do trust his heart. I trust the human being. And I want to be able to put my arm around him.”

Nacua was also seen stumbling and dancing on a San Francisco street after the Super Bowl in February, leading some fans to bring up concern about his well-being.

McCathern said that he has spoken to Nacua since he’s entered rehab, and the wide receiver is in good spirits.

“I think he’s doing absolutely fabulous,” he said. “I’m just really excited for how he’s going to look next year. For as great as he was, I think he’s going to be even better going forward.”

Nacua, a former fifth-round draft pick, has become one of the NFL’s best players – regardless of position. Last season, he caught a career-high 129 passes for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was selected to both the NFC Pro Bowl roster and an All-Pro team, the second time he’s received those accolades in his career.

CRKT’s latest pocket knives don’t just perform—they practically demand attention. With iridescent finishes, ultra-satisfying mechanisms, and rugged builds, the new Facet Flipper and Snap Lock Folder models blend standout design with real everyday utility—and after testing them, it’s hard to pick just one.

The Oregon-based company (also known as Columbia River Knife and Tool) has been in the knife game since the late ’90s and made a splash with their now infamous K.I.S.S.—or Keep. It. Super. Simple.—knife. Since then, they have been a well-loved brand with unique design elements like the Lock Back Safety mechanism and their veff-serrated edges.

Their latest offerings, a reskin of some of their classics along with a new pry tool, has captured my attention and obsession. I have an affinity for iridescent metals that comes from my youth as a ’90s kid, and whether that comes in utensils, jewelry, or tools, I am all over the colorful hues. 

I tested three of the five tools in the series, the Facet Flipper with a damascus steel blade and a titanium handle, the Facet Flipper with a 12C27 steel blade and stainless steel handle, along with the Snap Lock Folder with a 420J2 steel blade and a stainless steel handle. I couldn’t pick a favorite because they all serve different purposes, and do them well.

I’ll start with the Snap Lock Folder. The mechanism for this tool is so neat and incredibly satisfying. Inspired by vintage folding knives, the Snap Lock Folder has a super unique mechanism with cam levels that let the blade swing out and into place. I especially like the handle, it’s a good shape for doing repetitive and precision cuts in a compact unit. Plus it is so damn special, no one can walk off with it without you noticing.

As for the damascus steel blade/titanium handle combo Facet Flipper model, this guy is coming with me on all of my self-powered backcountry trips. To keep weight down—but also have a super strong, reliable tool—this 2.9-ounce pocket knife has a nice blade length at 3.38 inches that can easily handle various trail tasks, like cutting pursuits, gear repair, and, maybe most importantly, cutting up cured sausages. 

Next up is the Facet Flipper in 12C27 steel. I found that this is the knife for everyday tasks—it’s a little heavier than its titanium sibling, so you don’t have to feel so precious with this knife. It’s sturdy for those everyday applications and again, you’ll know if someone steals it.

A new recall from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) covers more than 178,000 Pacifica and Voyager minivans for an issue that has cropped up in the past: faulty curtain airbags. In a van intended to carry families, it’s a serious recall. The automaker’s filings with the NHTSA indicate that the Pacifica accounts for the bulk of the 178,246 recalled vans. 2022 to 2026 Pacificas have been recalled, to the tune of 154,367 units, while 23,879 2022 to 2025 Voyager models have also been recalled.

The NHTSA says that some (around 30 percent of the recalled total) Chrysler Pacifica vans may have been built with a curtain airbag that may not retain “sufficient pressure” during deployment. In other words, the airbags may not hold air. The problem can be traced back to May 17, 2022, when Chrysler believes the faulty airbags were introduced into production. The issue was removed from production for both models by August 8, 2025.

Here’s the gory, technical summary of the airbag issue: Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 226 S4.2.1 requires that “When propelled… into the impact target locations … the most outboard surface of the … headform must not displace more
than 100 millimeters beyond the zero displacement plane.” These faulty curtain airbags may not retain sufficient pressure to prevent headform displacement of more than 100 mm, thus violating the FMVSS in question.

Most critically, the problem reduces protection for occupants during an accident. The fix is simple: dealers will replace the driver’s side curtain airbag, the passenger-side airbag, or both, depending on your specific vehicle. Last year, Chrysler issued the first recall for these faulty airbags and has since expanded it to cover a greater swath of Pacifica and Voyager models. Owners will be notified between May 14 and 19, 2026. Meanwhile, you can check your own VIN or year, make, and model online at the NHTSA’s website to determine if your Pacifica or Voyager is covered under the recall.

We’re less than a month away from WrestleMania 42, which has been World Wrestling Entertainment’s marquee event since 1985. That means it’s the perfect time to look back and see who shined on the “Grandest Stage of Them All.” Today, I’m focusing on matches where the Tag Team Championship belt was on the line and choosing my top 10:

10) Strike Force (C) vs. Demolition: WrestleMania IV

With the tournament to crown a new WWF Champion necessitating a lot of short matches, the encounter between Strike Force and Demolition featured perhaps the best in-ring action at WrestleMania IV, in part because it was placed between Randy Savage’s matches with One Man Gang and Ted DiBiase for time. Smash pinned Rick Martel to win the belts.

9) The New Age Outlaws (C) vs. Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie in a Dumpster Match: WrestleMania XIV

While this event is best remembered for Steve Austin winning the WWF Title with Mike Tyson as referee, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn dropped the tag belts earlier in the show to Cactus Jack and Terry Funk (wrestling as Chainsaw Charlie) in a fun match. It would be a mere footnote, though, as the Outlaws won the titles back the next night on Raw and officially joined DX.

8) The Usos (C) vs. Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. The Bar vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet: WrestleMania 35

While the combinations may be kind of random, you cannot deny the talent involved, which led to a fun match. It’s also interesting that half of these wrestlers would end up in AEW. Highlights included perhaps the longest Cesaro Swing in history on Ricochet and double top-rope splashes from the Usos on Sheamus to hold onto the gold.

7) Hart Foundation (C) vs. Nasty Boys: WrestleMania VII

There was a lot of bad wrestling at WrestleMania VII, but the Hart Foundation and Nasty Boys showed good chemistry in putting on the second-best bout that night—the retirement match between Savage and Ultimate Warrior stole the show. The Nasty Boys pinned Jim Neidhart to capture the WWF Tag Team Titles, which launched Bret Hart’s singles career.

6) Team Angle (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) (C) vs. Los Guerreros vs. Chris Benoit & Rhyno: WrestleMania XIX

As you can imagine, a match that involved elite in-ring talents like Eddie Guerrero, Benjamin, and Benoit resulted in plenty of high-end wrestling. Of course, for obvious reasons, this match will never see the light of day again on anything WWE-approved. It was good action, though, with Benjamin pinning Chavo Guerrero Jr. to retain.

5) Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (C) vs. The Bar vs. Enzo & Big Cass vs. The Hardy Boyz in a Ladder Match: WrestleMania 33

Originally a Triple Threat match, Mania hosts The New Day came out before the match to announce a mystery fourth team, the returning Hardy Boyz, to a monster pop. It’s a great WrestleMania “moment,” and it preceded a nostalgia-fueled ladder match that saw Jeff Hardy put The Bar through a ladder with a Swanton before Matt secured the belts.

4) RK-Bro (C) vs. The Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy: WrestleMania 38

It’s easy to forget how popular the pairing of Randy Orton and Matt Riddle was. They kicked off the second night of WrestleMania 38 in style, and having two powerhouses (Otis and Angelo Dawkins) and two skilled wrestlers (Chad Gable and Montez Ford) to bounce off worked out very well. A couple of artistically pleasing RKOs from the champs spelled the end of the night.

3) The Dudley Boyz (C) vs. Edge & Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz in a Ladder Match: WrestleMania 2000

While this didn’t quite reach the heights of the TLC rematch between these three teams a year later (or the SummerSlam rematch), there were still tons of incredible high spots as all three teams began building Hall of Fame legacies. On this night, Edge and Christian would win their first WWF Tag Team Championship.

2) The Usos (C) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn: WrestleMania 39

Set against the excellent Bloodline storyline that dominated WWE in 2023, Owens and Zayn came together to face the Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship in the main event of Night 1. It was a strong technical match, but it was the drama that elevated it with Zayn, a former honorary member of the Bloodline, getting the pinfall to end the Usos’ reign of over 600 days.

1) The Dudley Boyz (C) vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian in a TLC Match: WrestleMania X-7

Six wrestlers at their physical apex. A rabid crowd. Run-ins from Lita, Spike Dudley, and Rhyno. Amazing spot after amazing spot. Jeff Hardy’s Swanton through two tables. Bubba powerbombing Jeff onto Edge through a table. Bubba and Matt going off the ladder over the top rope and through four more tables. And, of course, Edge spearing a dangling Jeff Hardy from a ladder. Edge and Christian won the gold. Absolute cinema.

The 2027 Kia Seltos has three powertrains and looks very much like the very new Kia Telluride. That’s surely no accident, with the Telluride historically being one of the brand’s best-selling SUVs. The new Seltos will come with three powertrains: two gas options and a hybrid, said Kia at today’s unveiling during the New York International Auto Show.

The first will be an entry-level engine: a gas-powered 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower. As the entry point, it’ll be standard on four trims: the Seltos LX, S, EX, and X-Line. All will be motivated via standard front-wheel drive and an automatic transmission, but there will be optional all-wheel drive available for some models.

Moving up a rung, the mid-grade 190-horsepower engine is an old Kia favorite: the brand’s turbocharged 1.6-liter engine makes an appearance across the brand’s lineup. However, its availability is severely limited, being offered only on the X-Line model when optioned with all-wheel drive.

The final choice will be Kia’s mostly-to-be-announced hybrid powertrain. Details on this are harder to come by. Kia does say it will use a 1.6-liter four-cylinder as its base, but makes no mention of the battery pack, saying only that it will be offered with standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive. A six-speed automatic will be the sole transmission pairing.

The new design also led to new dimensions for the Seltos, which now has a 2.4-inch longer wheelbase. Inside, that translates to around 64 cubic feet of cargo space. The rugged-ish X-Line model will cater to a more outdoorsy crowd with its outdoorsy look and up to 8.1 inches of ground clearance. Kia offers a slew of screens, ranging from a 12.3-inch central screen to an identically-sized driver display.

Pricing for the outgoing model was set at $25,285, including destination charges. Undoubtedly, the new model will bring with it new pricing, though specifics aren’t clear yet.
