I’ve Found It: The Anti-Trend Linen Dress Elegant People Will Be Relying On All Summer
Before the summer season started, I had dreams of waking up early and meticulously planning each outfit to ensure I looked polished in the warm weather. However, it will be unsurprising to learn that, two heatwaves in, this plan has completely gone out of the window. Now, I’m only interested in easy, throw-on pieces that feel effortless without compromising on elegance. The best summer staple for this? A dress, of course, and recently I’ve been spotting both a particular high-street iteration on both fashion people and editors alike. And if you’re a minimalist like me, you’ll be pleased to know that it’s anti-trend, elegant and, most importantly, requires little effort to style. Enter With Nothing Underneath’s linen mini dress.

Made from 100% linen and created in 5 different colours, With Nothing Underneath’s mini dress collection contains 2 different silhouettes: the Jackie dress with a round-neck tailored style and the Sloane, which comes with a flattering low V-neckline and shift body. Both dresses are lightweight throw-on styles that can be dressed down for the day with flat sandals and a raffia tote, or up for summer evenings with a pair of kitten heels and a statement clutch.
After spotting my fellow Who What Wear editor, Florrie, in the red Sloane dress, I’m now fully convinced that it’s the perfect addition to the effortlessly chic capsule wardrobe I’m aiming to recreate for 2026. Not to mention that the timeless silhouettes of both dresses ensure that they’ll last in my wardrobe for many more summers to come. Keep scrolling to shop With Nothing Underneath’s linen mini dress collection, and then take a browse at some more linen mini dresses I have my eye on.

I’ve been obsessed with this red ever since I spotted it on my fellow editor, Florrie.

Wear with flip-flops in the day and slingback pumps come nighttime.

I’d wear this with loafers to the office, and then swap these out with kitten heels for a dinner date.

Taylor Sheridan Reveals Kevin Costner’s Surprising Reason for Leaving Yellowstone
Kevin Costner was Yellowstone‘s biggest star until his character was killed off midway through the show’s fifth and final season. Costner, 71, who played John Dutton, the family patriarch, had confirmed in 2024 he would not be returning to the show for its final episodes.
On the Sunday, June 28 episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan offered some rare comments on Costner’s decision to leave, saying that initially, the Dances with Wolves star was “only supposed to be in the first three seasons” of the hit neo-Western series.
“That was in his contract. In my mind, that’s when his youngest son takes over [on the show]… But the network was so scared of not having Kevin be a part of it, even though Kevin was ready. He was ready to go,” Sheridan said, via PEOPLE. “He had other things he wanted to do but he stayed on for another two seasons.”
“And that was just because the show was such a behemoth. It was such a huge hit,” Sheridan added. “The notion of giving up a hit before it had run out of juice to squeeze is very foreign to a network. There was even pressure from some of the cable companies wanting to put it in their deals, that they were going to get an X number of seasons of Yellowstone to re-up what this cable company is. That’s the power of a really big hit show.”
An exit clouded in finger-pointing
Two years ago, when Costner officially exited the series, his departure came with a back-and-forth over whether the actor or Sheridan and his production team were to blame.
“My last conversation with Kevin was that he had this passion project [Horizon] he wanted to direct,” Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. “He and the network were arguing about when he could be done with Yellowstone. I said, ‘We can certainly work a schedule toward [his preferred exit date],’ which we did.”
Costner, meanwhile, refuted reports that scheduling conflicts had anything to do with it.
“That’s not true,” he said. “That’s bulls–t. That’s a lie…They made the contract and they picked the days…They weren’t able to make those. Horizon was set in the middle, but Yellowstone was first position. I fit [Horizon] into the gaps. [Yellowstone] just kept moving their gaps…I left my movie to be on time for them for [season] 5B.”

Spotted on Anne Hathaway: Summer 2026’s Most Risqué Pant Trend
You may have noticed that this has turned out to be a very pants-centric summer, as many of the season’s biggest trends happen to be pants. But what sets summer pants apart from those of adjacent seasons—aside from needing to be very lightweight—is that they’re far more fun. And Anne Hathaway has just proven herself to be a fan of one of those fun summer pant trends.
Hathaway, who recently announced that she’s pregnant with her third child, just stepped out in NYC as she gears up to promote The Odyssey. The pant trend she wore as part of her all-black outfit was both highly specific and undoubtedly risqué: sheer balloon pants. She paired them with a black bodysuit, black-and-white kitten-heel mules, and the new Dior Cigale Bag. Yes, the sheer clothing trend can be challenging to style without exposing all, but there are several tricks you can employ, such as wearing a bodysuit as Hathaway did. You could also wear hotpants underneath, pair them with a long top, or simply choose a pair with built-in shorts.
If you’re now convinced that sheer balloon pants are what your summer wardrobe is missing, keep scrolling to see Hathaway’s styling and to shop an assortment of the chicest pairs on the internet.
