‘Home Improvement’ Star Arrested for the Sixth Time

Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan has been arrested for violating his probation, his sixth arrest in five years.

Bryan, 44, was taken into custody in Eugene, OR, on Nov. 29  for allegedly violating his probation from his prior domestic violence conviction, according to Lane County Jail records reviewed by TMZ. Bryan’s fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was arrested alongside the actor and also booked at Lane County Jail.

Cartwright is facing five charges, including one count of driving under the influence, three counts of reckless endangering, and one count of attempted first-degree assault. Bryan is being held without bail, though he’s due to be released on Dec. 3. As of Nov. 30, Cartwright was still in custody.

Bryan and Cartwright Have Had Previous Legal Issues

This is the sixth time Bryan has been arrested since October 2020. His most recent arrest came in January of this year, when he was taken into custody by officers in Myrtle Beach, SC, on charges of second-degree domestic violence towards Cartwright. According to the arresting officer, Cartwright “stated that she was assaulted” by the actor, and that the two “live together and have children in common.” (Cartwright and Bryan share three children.) Cartwright further alleged that Bryan “choked her and punched her in the face multiple times,” and that there were “others” involved who were “inside the home during the incident.”

Bryan was previously arrested twice in 2024 on DUI charges—first in February, then in October. In 2023, he was charged with fourth-degree felony assault, third-degree robbery and misdemeanor harassment. He pleaded guilty to felony violence in the fourth degree, constituting domestic violence, and was sentenced to seven days in jail. In 2020, Bryan was arrested for allegedly strangling his then-girlfriend at an Oregon home. He pled guilty to two domestic violence misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to 36 months of probation.

‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown Has Changed Her Name

One of Netflix’s biggest shows of all time is set to reveal its grand conclusion this year, but one of the series’ breakout stars is already looking forward to the next portion of their life.

In the near decade that ‘Stranger Things’ has dominated the pop culture landscape, actress Millie Bobby Brown has become the show’s most prominent figure. Brown has parlayed her success into expansive and lucrative roles, collaborating with other top names in the film industry on movies like “Enola Holmes” and the “The Electric State.”

“Stranger Things” may be coming to a permanent end over the next few weeks on Netflix, but Brown’s comments in a recent interview suggest that she’s ready to move on to different pursuits.

Millie’s Name Change After Marriage

During an interview with VT, Brown and her co-star Noah Schnapp were asked to answer questions about one another. Schnapp was asked to give Brown’s full name, and replied with “Millie Bonnie Brown.”

The 21-year-old actress corrected her longtime co-star, telling him that her name changed after she got married.

“Millie Bonnie Bongiovi Brown,” Schnapp guessed.

“Drop the Bobby, drop the Brown. It’s just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi,” the actress said. “That’s it.”

Brown began a relationship with fellow actor Jake Bongiovi in 2021. After three years of dating, they married in May of 2024. Earlier this year, the couple announced that they welcomed their first child through adoption.

Bongiovi is the son of legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi, and has appeared in a number of films. He has a role in “Euphoria” star Maude Apatow’s directorial film debut “Poetic License,” which is set for a wide release next summer.

After the end of “Stranger Things,” Brown is set to star in the third installment of the “Enola Holmes” franchise, and she is also set to appear in “Just Picture It,” a romantic comedy which will also feature Gabriel LaBelle of “The Fablemans.”

Brown, Schnapp Prepare to End ‘Stranger Things’

The fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” premiered last week with an initial four-episode drop. An additional three episodes will be released on Christmas Day, and the series finale will be released on New Year’s Eve.

The finale will be shown in hundreds of theaters on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, giving fans the chance to watch the final episode on the big screen.

“We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela and everyone at Netflix for making it happen,” the Duffer Brothers said in a statement.

Huckberry’s Warm and Rugged Waxed Jacket Is an Ultra-Rare 30% Off for Cyber Monday

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Why It’s a Big Deal

Huckberry’s Cyber Week sale is coming to a close, but not before one last round of jaw-dropping markdowns. Up to now, everything from Chelsea boots to outerwear and even smart gifts for men has been featured in what’s usually the retailer’s most price-dropping sale of the year. But for my money, the best products to score have been Flint and Tinder’s iconic waxed jackets, and in typical Huckberry fashion, the best one was saved for the final hours.

Flint and Tinder’s Flannel-Lined Waxed Hudson Jacket is now on sale at Huckberry for $257—an ultra-rare 30% off its normal price of $368. This jacket is one of the retailer’s bestselling styles alongside the Flannel Lined Waxed Trucker Jacket, and it’s earned nearly 400 five-star ratings from shoppers, as well as my own love and admiration for saving me on a trip to Lake Tahoe. All three core colors—dark brown, navy, and dark green— are available at this price in sizes XS to 3XL. The Hudson jacket typically sells fast whenever it goes on sale, so don’t wait to get the one you want.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Shell: 290 gsm 100% BCI Halley Stevensons Dry Finish Waxed Cotton Canvas
  • Lining: 100% Cotton Plaid Flannel
  • Pockets: Chest (1), dual-entry hand pockets (2), ticket pocket (1), rear pocket (1), inner media pocket (1)
  • Closure: Zip-up and snap
  • Special Features: Nylong-lined sleeves, detachable hood
  • Best For: Winter layering

The waxed Hudson jacket is equally as utilitarian as it is versatile. It’s made from waxed cotton canvas from the globally renowned Halley Stevensons manufacturers and features a plaid cotton flannel lining to up the warmth alongside the dual zip and button-closure and detachable hood.

There’s a ton of storage on this jacket: It has snap-closure hand pockets with a secondary flannel-lined side entry, an extra flap pocket, a snap-closure chest pocket, an interior pocket, and a back pocket normally seen on hunting jackets.

It’s a fine choice for a three-season jacket with a hoodie underneath, but it’s also great for a night out on the town with a great pair of boots and a sharp button-down shirt.

What Shoppers Are Saying

Reviews sing the praises of this jacket, but none more than one shopper who compared it to some of its biggest competitors. “Great jacket at a super price,” they said. “I own Orvis, Lewis Creek, and Filson waxed jackets, and this is equal for a much better price.”

For first-time wearers, it’s the quality and comfort that won them over from the get-go. “The jacket is superbly made,” a shopper noted. “It’s not only good-looking and comfortable, but it serves its purpose very well, too. Perfect for autumn/early spring and is roomy enough to wear over a sweater in colder months.”

My Honest Thoughts

I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Forest color of this jacket and brought it on a winter trip to Lake Tahoe for some snowy sightseeing. The forecast had predicted mild February weather, so I had packed for that, but I ended up catching the tail end of a blustery snowstorm.

This jacket—which was the warmest layer I had packed—ended up saving me on that trip. Though it’s a far cry from a ski jacket, it’s one of the heaviest waxed options in Flint and Tinder’s expansive lineup, and when I layered it with the brand’s 10-Year Pullover Hoodie, it kept me perfectly comfortable in 30-degree weather.

What I found was that the combination of the waxed shell, the hood, and the dual button-zip closure helped support the insulation and totally seal off the wind, which would have made me miserable. In my opinion, it’s the one you want for winter.

Flint and Tinder’s Waxed Hudson Jacket rarely sees a discount, and when it finally does, Huckberry diehards swarm the site, and they sell out. If you’ve been on the hunt for a great jacket at a great price, don’t sleep on this deal, because it goes away early on Dec. 2.

Why Jodie Foster Found Robert De Niro ‘Really Uninteresting’

Jodie Foster sat for an extended interview on Nov. 30 at the Marrakech Film Festival, where she was honored with a tribute award. During the career retrospective, Foster reflected on her star-making turn in Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver and revealed why she thought Robert De Niro was “really uninteresting” when she first met the Oscar-winner.

Foster was just 12-years-old when she starred as adolescent sex worker Iris in Scorsese’s masterpiece. Having not done many roles beforehand, Foster was more than a little confused when faced with De Niro’s impenetrable Method approach.

“We’d run the lines and run the lines a second and third time,” Foster told the crowd. “And I’m sure maybe some of you have been here when Robert De Niro was here. One of our greatest American actors, so proud to have worked with him—not the most interesting person on earth,” she continued, to appreciative laughter.

‘When Can I Go Home?’

“At that time, he was very much in character, the way he was in those days,” Foster recounted. “So he was really uninteresting and I remember having these lunches with him and being like, ‘What is happening? When can I go home?’ And he wouldn’t really be able to talk to me, so I would talk to the waiters and the people in the restaurants.”

But it wasn’t long before Foster saw the value in De Niro’s eccentric methodology. “He finally walked me through improvisation by the time we had our third lunch together, and it opened my eyes to what acting could be,” she said. “And I realized at 12, ‘Oh, it’s my fault because I haven’t brought enough to the table.’ I’ve just been saying lines and waiting for my next line and acting naturally, but building a character is something different. And I remember how excited I was, I remember being kind of sweaty and excited and giggly and coming back up into the hotel room to meet my mom and saying, ‘I’ve had this epiphany.’ And I think from there, everything changed.”

‘I Would Never Have Chosen to Be an Actor’

When the film premiered in Cannes, Foster, who speaks fluent French, paid her own way to the festival along with her mother. It ended up being a stroke of luck, because Scorsese, De Niro, and co-star Harvey Keitel “were really paranoid” about the controversy Taxi Driver was courting. “We all did the press conference together, but then after the press conference, they all got too scared, and they wouldn’t leave their rooms at the Hotel du Cap,” Foster said. “So I ended up doing all the interviews in French for the entire team of Taxi Driver!”

Foster concluded by reflecting on her decades-long career, admitting that she wouldn’t have picked her profession if not for her mother. “I would never have chosen to be an actor, I don’t have the personality of an actor. I’m not somebody that wants to dance on a table and, you know, sing songs for people,” she said. “It’s actually just a cruel job that was chosen for me as a young person that I don’t remember starting. So right there, it makes my work a little bit different because I am not interested in acting just for the sake of acting. If I was on a desert island, I think probably the last thing I would ever do is act. So I was just trying to survive.”

Winter Storm in the U.S. Isn’t Over Yet

Over Thanksgiving weekend, a major winter storm hit the U.S., but if you think it’s over, that’s not the case. On Monday, Dec. 1, the Weather Channel said that even though Winter Storm Bellamy has made its way across the country, there’s another storm hitting this week. So, the U.S. is in for another round of snow.

Winter Storm Bellamy made holiday travel difficult over the weekend. According to the tracking site FlightAware, 12,113 inbound and outbound flight delays were reported across the U.S. on Sunday, Nov. 30, due to the storm. Their research also showed that there were 1,424 flights canceled. The most impacted were airports in Detroit, Chicago, New York City, Boston, Des Moines and Fort Lauderdale, their research states.

So, travel has been disrupted by Winter Storm Bellamy, and areas of the country got hit with 6-12 inches of snow. But, that’s not the end of the story. Certain areas of the U.S. are about to get a second round of snow, so be prepared.

A Second Major Storm is Brewing

Winter Storm Chan is dropping on Monday. According to research from the Weather Channel, Winter Storm Chan will bring more snow to the Plains and Midwest, including “to some of the same areas that were hit hard by Bellamy over the weekend.”

“Accumulations should be on the light side, but travel will still be impacted,” the Weather Channel adds. “A light glaze of ice will also be possible across the portions of Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi.”

In a separate video shared on Dec. 1, the Weather Channel also notes that Winter Storm Chan “will intensify across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast as an area of low pressure moves offshore.”

To begin with, a wintry mix will start across the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic Monday night, and that snow will go into the Northeast early Tuesday and fade away by Wednesday morning, according to their tracking system. They also say to expect “a plowable snow,” but that “the exact track of the low plays a crucial role in where the rain/snow line sets up along the East Coast.”

Staying Safe in Winter Snow

The National Safety Council notes to be careful about shoveling show in the case of a big snowstorm. “Shoveling snow or using a snowblower are among winter’s most grueling activities,” they note. “High levels of activity in cold temperatures put many people at risk of heart attack, especially those that have inactive lifestyles.”

The National Weather Service adds to “stay indoors during the worst part of the extreme cold” and “keep a winter survival kit in your vehicle if you must travel” that’s packed with necessities.

Also, for those traveling in winter weather, they note to check tire pressure, antifreeze levels and the vehicle’s heater and defroster before venturing out. “Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing, and a hat,” they note. “Cover your mouth to protect your lungs from extreme cold.”

Lost Painting of Jesus, Missing for 400 Years, Auctioned for Millions

A painting of Jesus Christ rendered by Baroque master Peter Paul Rubens has sold for millions at auction after it was missing for 400 years, The Guardian reported.

The 17th-century Flemish master’s artwork, painted in 1613, depicts Christ on the cross during his crucifixion. The painting was missing for centuries, but last year was discovered by auctioneer Jean-Pierre Osenat in a Paris mansion which he was preparing for sale. On Nov. 30, Osenat’s auction house put the painting up for an expected sale of £1-2 million. However, the painting sold for a whopping £2.94 million ($3.41 million), including fees and a buyer’s premium. Osenat called the artwork “a masterpiece” painted by Rubens when he was “at the height of his talent.”

This photograph taken on September 11, 2025 shows a video journalist filming the painting “Christ on the cross” by Dutch painter Peter Paul Rubens, exhibited at the Osenat auction house in Fontainebleau, south of Paris. (Photo by Ian LANGSDON / AFP) (Photo by IAN LANGSDON/AFP via Getty Images)

Little Is Known About the Artwork

Not much was known about the artwork aside from an engraving that one of Rubens’ peers had made shortly after its conception. Despite never having seen the painting itself, historians would later catalogue its existence based upon the engraving. Rubens’ painting was later purchased by William-Adolphe Bouguereau, a 19th-century French academic painter. The artwork was later authenticated by Nils Büttner, a German art historian who specializes in Flemish baroque works.

Rubens’ Painting Is Exceptionally Rare

Prior to the auction, Büttner explained that the painting is exceptionally rare because Rubens painted many scenes of crucifixion, but rarely depicted “the crucified Christ as a dead body on the cross.” “So this is the one and only painting showing blood and water coming out of the side wound of Christ, and this is something that Rubens only painted once,” Büttner said.

“It’s the very beginning of baroque painting, depicting a crucified Christ, isolated, luminous and standing out vividly against a dark and threatening sky,” Osenat said, adding that the painting was certified using pigment analysis and X-ray imaging.

Playstation Plus Games for December All about Survival

Sony is closing out the year by offering Playstation Plus subscribers a chance to download five games this December, although they are not exactly holiday themed.

While one stands out for obvious reasons, they all have a similar theme: Surviving some sort of apocalyptic event or

Slay Demons, Save Humanity, Repeat

The games are Lego Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality Echo of Ada and Neon White

Here is what you need to know about each game:

LEGO Horizon Adventures: Your character is charged with saving Earth from an ancient digital demon and a gang of sun worshipers who want to eliminate shade and keep all those sweet rays for themselves (tale as old as time, right?).

The game includes multiple heroes and game options plus a couch co-op option. This is also the only game that sounds close to family friendly this month, for what that is worth.

Killing Floor 3: A first-person action shooter, this game allows up to six players to team up against waves of bioengineered enemies across a variety of maps.

You control representatives of a group bred to turn back the threat with a collection of weapons and gadgets that allow for lots of customization.

The Outlast Trials: Up to four people can play online as a character who was abducted and trapped inside an evil corporation’s facility and forced to try to earn release by completing trials and challenges that involve avoiding enemies and trying to run away.

The evil corporation provides tools to increase  stealth capabilities, create opportunities to run and slow down enemies.

Synduality Echo of Ada: More than 200 years in the future, a poisonous rain has wiped out most of humanity and created deformed creates that hunt the survivors.

That led humans to build underground settlements, but they need a rare resource known as AO Crystals to survive. That means your character “must collaborate with your artificial intelligence partner to face xenomorphic creatures known as Enders and survive the hazards on the surface.”

Neon White: Not set in the future, this game is in a higher place. Yes, Neon White is a first-person action game set in Heaven. There you are charged with exterminating demons.

If that doesn’t sound like enough fun, the ultimate price is the chance to reside permanently in Heaven. To win, characters collect Soul Cards to create shortcuts and unlock unique abilities.
