While Tom Holland has plenty on his plate currently, the beloved Spider-Man actor has his fair share of experience with going from one high-profile movie role to the next. After wrapping filming on the 2026 film The Odyssey, he’s now filming another highly anticipated film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

And although Holland’s current focus is on the latest addition to the Spider-Man series, he’s been linked as an option to become the new James Bond. During a recent conversation on Scrambled with Gordon Ramsay, the 29-year-old addressed the topic.

Tom Holland Calls Playing James Bond the ‘Pinnacle’

While Holland and Ramsay cooked up some (very delicious-looking) food, they discussed a broad range of topics, including the million-dollar question about Holland potentially playing the Bond role.

“Listen, there’s speculation at the minute, we’ll keep it to a minimum for now,” Holland said of playing James Bond. “We’ll get there one day.”

After Ramsay stated that Holland would “love the opportunity, right?” The Spider-Man star was honest about how noteworthy and iconic it is.

“I mean, every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry,” Holland said of the role. “I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed to have the career that I’ve had.

It’s an interesting response from Holland, and one that highlights just how much playing the role of James Bond could mean to the popular actor. Now, whether that leads to him ultimately making the jump into playing 007 remains to be seen, but Holland certainly didn’t squash the speculation.

Holland also has a noteworthy link to the upcoming James Bond film, as Variety detailed that the movie is being co-produced by Amy Pascal, with whom he works on Spider-Man.

Tom Holland Among Interesting List of Names Linked to Next James Bond Movie

The question of who will play the next James Bond has been a significant topic of conversation in recent years. The movie is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. However, there’s been little revealed about the next 007.

As GQ Magazine cited, a few of the names linked previously include Idris Elba, James Norton, Theo James, Callum Turner, Harris Dickinson and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Interestingly, Taylor-Johnson was reportedly offered the role in 2024, according to The Sun, but nothing has come to fruition on that front.

However, of all the names mentioned above, only Dickinson is close to Holland in age (29). If the rumblings about the next potential James Bond being a younger actor, that could heavily play in favor of either Holland or Dickinson.

Until a new update is provided, though, it’ll remain under heavy speculation about who the frontrunner to become the next James Bond is. From the sound of it, though, Holland’s interest sounds apparent, at the very least.

Sydney Sweeney previously revealed she’s a classic white t-shirt and jeans kind of girl – but never explicitly mentioned American Eagle.

“I’m very much a white, plain T-shirt kind of girl. I jump around from a bunch of different brands and that kind of depends on what vibe I want to go for,” she said. “I have my Levi’s white T-shirts and my Cotton On white T-shirts that are just paired with casual jeans. Jean wise: I mean, I love Levi’s, Frame, Agolde,” she said.

Fast forward to late July and both Sweeney and American Eagle found themselves at the center of a controversy.

American Eagle, Sydney Sweeney Controversy Explained

American Eagle created an ad that uses a play on words suggesting Sweeney won the genetic lottery, which led some to believe the apparel company was glorifying whiteness. “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My genes are blue,” Sweeney says in one video.

Some complained the ad glorified Nazi rhetoric centering around eugenics, a theory that some genetic features as better than others.

American Eagle’s Response to the Criticism

For several days neither Sweeney nor American Eagle issued a statement following the firestorm. On the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 1, Sweeney broke her silence on social media with a wordless post. Just hours later, American Eagle has done the same.

“‘Sydney Sweeney has great jeans’ is and always was about the jeans,” American Eagle said in a statement on Instagram. “Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
