21 Summer Buys That Will Keep Working Hard for Months to Come

There’s nothing better than purchasing a piece you know will last you for several seasons. While summer is in full swing right now, and we’re excitedly stocking up on warm-weather essentials (think bucket hats, straw bags, and strappy sandals), today we’re here to share the chic summer buys you can purchase right now that will, in fact, last you long past Labor Day. (Here’s to getting your money’s worth!).

From florals and mock croc to pistachio hues, these summer-to-fall trends will transition you seamlessly into the new season and keep you looking on trend until the end of the year. Some require a few extra layers once the cold weather hits, but nothing a tissue-thin turtleneck and overcoat can’t handle. Scroll below for the 21 summer buys that will keep working hard for the months to come.

Florals are a versatile print that are easy to wear in summer and autumn. Luckily, we saw no lack of them on the fall runways. Just add tights, leather knee-high boots, and a blazer or coat once the cooler weather hits.

The minty hue has been discreetly gaining momentum this summer and is set to dominate by the time fall rolls around. Opt for a luxurious-looking silky pistachio blouse or dress you can wear now and later.

Mock-croc shoes and bags continue to be a huge trend next season. Try a modern and minimalist structured purse in a white, beige, or tan hue that will take you through the seasons ahead.

Summer in the city calls for a loose and languid cream or camel suit. Luckily, the trend is huge for fall, and a relaxed-fitting suit will transition you seamlessly into the next season. Just add a sweater under your blazer.

Shop the matching camel hair and silk blazer ($1025).

One-shoulder tops and asymmetrical dresses were omnipresent on the fall runways—and there are plenty of chic offerings to wear this summer and in the months ahead.

There were many different takes on kitten heels on the fall runways from punchy colors at Erdem to loafer kitten heels at Bottega Veneta and shiny hardware detailing at Dior. Whatever you choose you can wear them from meetings to margaritas in utmost style.

There is a lot of strong sleeve action to be had this fall—big and billowy puff shoulders remain a fashion girl must.

Large pockets, sandy hues, belted waists—the safari explorer look is one we can’t wait to wear this season and into the next. Opt for a khaki or camel jumpsuit to nail the trend.

If there’s one standout accessory to invest in for fall, it’s belts. They were seen cinched at the waist over blazers, dresses, coats, and tops on the runways. Wear yours with a floral dress this summer and over a blazer in fall.

From sandals to boots and handbags, snake-print accessories will continue to work hard with every outfit in your closet in the months to come.

Aside from pistachio, lovely lilac is set to be a massive trend next season. It’s a perfect hue to wear for summer too.

Animal-print pieces show no signs of slowing down this year. Whether you wear an animal-print dress with sandals in the summer or with tights and boots for fall, you’ll be perfectly on trend from season to season. Try a zebra or tiger print for a modern look.

While we may not be thinking about sweater just yet, a lightweight knit is always handy in summer for those breezy evenings and cool AC filled offices. Unquestionably, it will ferry you into fall in style.

Beyoncé: Queen of the Universe and Champion of Emerging Brands

I can think of few things that could do more for a brand—emerging or established—than the approval and endorsement of one Queen B, ruler of the Beyhive and arguably the most famous woman on the planet. And, as someone who is regularly making statements with her thoughtful and intentional fashion choices, there’s no chance she doesn’t know what power she holds. That’s why we’re always pleased when Beyoncé decides to use her clout to support an on-the-rise brand that might not even need the exposure but definitely is deserving of it. Especially when you consider the fact that every major fashion house from Louis Vuitton to Saint Laurent to Ralph & Russo would drop anything to work with her, or collaborate with her, at a moment’s notice.

If her viral By Far bag recently caught your attention, you’re not alone, but I’m here to tell you it’s actually just one of many times Mrs. Carter has worn a piece (or entire outfit) from an emerging brand those of us in our fashion bubble love or, in some cases, haven’t even heard of yet. To see, read about, and shop six such instances, just keep scrolling.

While the majority of the internet was busy making memes, fashion girls everywhere freaked out when Beyoncé was spotted carrying an Insta-famous By Far bag courtside at the NBA finals. It might sound like no big deal, but for a brand that only launched handbags a year or so ago, it’s major. For those of us who also can’t resist By Far accessories, it was a “celebs, they’re just like us” moment like no other.

If you’re at all familiar with the young Parisian brand Marine Serre, then you know how easy it is to spot its trademark half-moon print. Cue the Slacks, DMs, and collective chatter among editors when, for another courtside look, Bey opted for a statement-making, head-to-toe bodysuit from the brand. If anyone didn’t know about the cult label before, after this look (and the many photos she understandably couldn’t help but post in the outfit), they must.

For an outing with Jay-Z this past February, Beyoncé stepped out in two emerging labels—one of which was still selling through Etsy at the time. The suit by Nigerian designer EnaGancio was just part of her regular efforts to support African designers and paired perfectly with her purple bag by Dubai-based label L’Afshar (which can be seen on slide three of the below Instagram post).

While anyone with an Instagram account is probably familiar with Cult Gaia’s longtime handbag hit, the Arc bag (which Beyoncé as also worn in the past), they may not all have known about the brands more recent foray into RTW. Of course, Bey did, as she was spotted in one of the brand’s cut-out dresses back in February. The best part? It’s still in stock for anyone who wants to get the look.

I’d like to think that even if you’re Suki Waterhouse, co-founder of accessories brand Pop & Suki who just so happens to be a famous English model and actress, a Beyoncé sighting in a handbag you designed has to be a pretty big deal. Especially when you consider that the line was only launched less than three years ago.

New Balance Debuts Luxe Leather and Metal Take on ‘Made in USA 997’ Sneaker

New Balance is elevating its classic Made in the USA 997 silhouette with full-grain black pebbled leather and a metallic “N” logo for an eye-catching, modern twist on the ’90s-era favorite.

These upscale sneakers also feature the brand’s ENCAP midsole technology for superior support and durability, EVA foam midsoles and heels for extra cushioning, and grippy rubber outsoles.

The signature “N” branding is made with actual metal and outlined with copper-colored trimming for contrast. The black laces and black rubber outsole complete the upgraded aesthetic, which should definitely turn more heads than the usual 997s do.

Are you feeling them? The New Balance “Made in US 997 “Black/Grey” sells for $300 and is available now from the label’s webstore.

The World’s Biggest Outdoor TV Is Coming in 2020, And It Has a 25-Foot Screen

Australian electronics company C Seed is releasing the world’s largest outdoor TV next year, simply called the 301.

As implied by its name, the TV will measure 301 inches diagonally–about 25 feet–and will stand at 19 feet tall, weighing in at 3,638 pounds.

The 301 is made from lightweight carbon fiber and titanium, and has a luminosity of 4,500 nits, a 4:500:1 contrast ratio, and 48-bit color depth that promises crystal clear images that won’t glare even in direct sunlight.

Almost four million LEDs process image data up to 100,000 times per second, giving you a display of 281 trillion colors, and HDR, 4K video support, and an incredible sound system with six broadband speakers and three subwoofers create a total output power of 2,700 watts.

Perhaps best of all is the mammoth TV’s ability to fold or unfold at the push of a button. In just 25 seconds it folds up and out from its underground storage, and it takes another 40 seconds for the seven LED panels to lock into place.

Such an absurdly massive television unsurprisingly does not come cheap, and boasts a price tag of $1.5 million, which should make this an option only for the obscenely wealthy. But hey, if you’re in that category, you can place an order now, with shipments expected to take place halfway through next year.
