Presented in a sculptured decanter with curves that recall Aston’s supercars, the 52-year-old Bowmore ARC-52 was first announced in 2022. Only 100 bottles were offered directly to select consumers for $75,000 each.
One of those bottles, however, just fetched £187,500 GBP—the equivalent of $231,800 at current exchange rates—at a Sotheby’s auction in London. That’s over three times over the already exorbitant $75,000 MSRP.
Granted, the winning bidder also gets “an exclusive experience at Bowmore Distillery and on Islay” and a drive in a “limited-edition Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition,” according to Sotheby’s. But make no mistake, it was the whisky itself that drove the price.
The never-to-be-repeated expression is a 42.3-percent ABV blend of 1962 and1968-vintage Bowmore whiskeys, one of which was aged in sherry-seasoned European oak and the other in ex-bourbon American oak Hogsheads.
The top half of the curvy decanter is also wrapped in unique carbon fiber material that was designed to mimic the layers formed by the ancient Japanese metalworking technique “Mokume-Gane, which produces a mixed-metal laminate with a natural, woodgrain-like aesthetic.
“Bowmore’s ARC-52 Mokume Edition is as much a masterpiece of design as it is an exclusive whisky,” said Jonny Fowle, head of whisky and spirits for Sotheby’s, North America and EMEA, in a statement.
“These two legacy British brands have produced something that is visually spectacular to house a totally unique liquid time capsule. Today’s most dedicated collectors aim not only to collect legendary bottles, but particularly those which are unique. The price achieved for the Mokume is testament to this.”
As Robb Report points out, all proceeds from the auction will go to The Bowmore Legacy, an organization dedicated to supporting the people of the town of Bowmore on Islay by supporting affordable housing and employment training.
The post no doubt stopped some IG feed scrolls, as Hunt sported a Chiefs crop top with a “00” jersey number and team-branded red bikini bottoms in a trio of tempting pics photographed poolside in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
“100 days until football is back!!” Hunt proclaimed as approving followers chimed in with heart-eyed emojis and the like.
“I’d leave the Bears for you,” one commenter replied, while another said, “That first zero should be a one!”
A third fixated on her workout routine, writing, “If you ever get a chance, show us more of what you’re doing there would love to keep expanding in elevating my ab routine.”
Hunt hasn’t specified an ab routine, but she has detailed a Bosu ball circuit that is “a staple of my fitness routine.”
“For this circuit, do 20-30 reps for each exercise (for the plank jacks, aim for 50). Repeat the circuit three times,” Hunt said in an Instagram video demonstrating push-ups, V-ups, side planks, crunches, planks, single-leg deadlifts, pulse squats, and Russian twists.
The hard work has paid off, if her recent slew of bikini photos in any indicator:
As someone with a deep, sometimes uneven complexion, I’ve tried (and often failed) to discover products that leave me glowing inside out. Without a doubt, as we head into summer, self-tanners will be promoted as the must-have product for glowing, gorgeous skin whether you have a plane ticket to sun-soaked destination or not. Unfortunately, those with darker skin tones are often left out of the conversations around tanning, as much of it is associated with the idea of deepening one’s natural skin. But what about tanning products and practices that even, brighten, and illuminate those with naturally deep skin tones?
Let’s start with a fact: tanning is for everyone. For individuals with darker complexions who desire a noticeably even more vibrant skin tone, self-tanners are a must-have product year-round. “For those with a deep skin tone, using a self-tanner enables them to eliminate dull skin and achieve a healthy, hydrated glow,” says celebrity spray-tan artist and founder of Dolce Glow, Isabel Alysa. Most recently, Alysa’s work can be found making headlines as the spray-tan artist behind Sofia Richie’s ultra-chic wedding look. Her brand, Dolce Glow, offers accessible self-tanning products for all skin tones, ethnicities, and body types.
Of course, the secret to creating and maintaining that super glowing, natural-finish depends on how your practices. When using a self-tanner, preparation and follow through lend to a perfect end result. “Skin preparation is the key to a great tan and even coverage,” Alysa explains. “Make sure to exfoliate your skin before applying self-tanner. This will help create a nice base to apply your tanner evenly over your body.” Another one of her biggest tips following the initial application of the self-tanner is to properly moisturize the dry areas of your skin (such as your elbows an your knees). Put more simply, the more moisturized your skin is, the longer your tan will remain.
Like any beauty product, ingredients play a huge role in the finished look. The next time your browsing the shelves of a drugstore or beauty supply store in hopes of discovering your new got-to self-tanning product, take a quick look at what makes up the formula. DHA, for example, is a very dehydrating ingredient that is popular in self-tanners as it is necessary for the skin to tan. “You want to make sure you pair it with aloe vera, jojoba seed oil, vitamin E, and sodium hyaluronate,” says Alysa. Now that you know the biggest tips and tricks behind achieving your self-tan, why not shop a few of our favorites? Keep scrolling to discover more self-tanners that have caught our eye.
Our readers have made it clear that they love shopping at Nordstrom, so I’m always trying to think of new ways to curate the retailer’s selection from a fashion editor’s point of view. Today, I’m writing about brands that somehow always have five-star reviews on Nordstrom’s website.
So what brands made the list? There’s a healthy mix of high (Gucci) and low (Ugg), with everything in between. For starters, there’s a brand that has cornered the market when it comes to activewear, a label that’s known for its cozy robes and cardigans, and a company that can’t ever seem to produce enough T-shirts. Scroll down to shop the 7 brands that Nordstrom customers love, and see what I’d buy from each.
Though a plethora of in-depth studies and articles exist on anything and everything skincare, nailcare, haircare, and even scalpcare, there’s one key category that’s often overlooked. I’d go so far to say that this category is an afterthought for most of us. I’m talking, of course, about our hands, aka the most overworked, underappreciated part of our bodies. Think about it: Our hands work hard all day and receive little to no respect. It’s about time we show our hands the gratitude and love they deserve.
Similar to the peculiar skincare regimen we religiously follow to reverse signs of aging and brighten our complexions, our hands crave the same attention. They, too, wrinkle due to sun exposure; chap and dry in the colder months; and could use a glow-up every once in a while. Feeling guilty yet? Don’t panic. It’s not too late to begin your handcare journey. The first step? Discovering the right hand cream and using it throughout the day. Scroll to see 26 top-rated hand creams.
It’s no secret that hand creams could easily be one of the most frequently used beauty products. My favorite hand creams (many of which are named below) have claimed a permanent spot on my bedside table; tucked between my phone charger and the seasonal candle of my choice for quick, easy access at the beginning and end of my day. I even carry one particular hand cream, Chanel’s La Crème Main Hand Cream in my bag every day; changing its location from my work bag to my going out purse as needed. It took me a while, however, to land on that one as my go-to everyday product.
To identify what sets a good hand cream apart from the rest in a indisputably oversaturated market, I turned to my fellow WWW beauty editors for their expertise on the subject. There were three main commonalities among their favorite products; all of which were’t the least bit surprising: lightweight, fast-absorbing formulas chalked full of skin-loving ingredients, affordable price points, and aesthetic packaging. Ready to find your perfect hand-cream match? Keep reading to discover 30 of our favorites.
“This hand cream is packed with tons of powerhouse ingredients like CoQ10, niacinamide, glucosamine, retinol, and hyaluronic acid. It’s one of my favorite hand creams to keep next to my bed and use overnight. It smells amazing and I love how big the tube is.” — Katie Berohn, Beauty Editor
“This is one of the only hand creams I use because it actually keeps my skin hydrated, soft, smooth, and practically shimmery with nourishment for hours and hours. Despite the MVP ingredient—rich honey extract—it’s not sticky or overly thick in the slightest. I don’t even really like hand cream (I know, I know), but trust me, this stuff will change you!” — Erin Jahns, Beauty Director
“Not gonna lie, I’m always suspicious about celebrity brands, but Homecourt has not disappointed me. I’ve become completely hooked on this hand cream. Not just because it smells like freshly cut roses (it’s truly intoxicating!), but I don’t think my hands have ever been this soft. It’s full of ingredients like Australian hibiscus flower extract that hydrates and protects, she butter to soften, and fermented micro algae oil to repair and nourish. I use it at least twice a day and already stressing about running out.” — Caitie Schlisserman, Beauty Director, Banded Content
“If you’re looking for a good, no-frills hand cream that hydrates your skin and makes it feel soft, this is it. It contains peptides and multiple vitamins to keep the hands looking plump and healthy. It’s also fragrance-free, so it won’t irritate those of us who have sensitive skin. I always keep a tube of this nearby.” — Kaitlyn McLintock, Associate Beauty Editor
“I use this hand cream every night before bed and wake up with baby soft hands. It provides ultra-rich hydration with ingredients like shea butter, cocoa seed butter, and niacinamide. It absorbs so quickly and is perfect for my super dry hands (which have become that way due to a lot of hand-washing). My hands tend to get a bit flakey when dry, but this cream solves that in a jiff—can’t recommend enough.” — Shawna Hudson, Associate Beauty Editor
“Not only is this the chicest-looking hand cream (my boyfriend and I keep it in our living room for aesthetic purposes), but it also makes my hands feel incredibly soft after I use it. The formula uses iris pallida to strengthen the skin’s barrier, and May rose wax to deeply moisturize and nourish. It also helps improve nail health, which is a major plus!” — Berohn
“I know this isn’t the most luxurious choice ever, but that’s kind of the point. Thanks to the tiny price tag, I’m able to use it as much as I want without wincing. Plus, the formula is heavy-duty. With 7 moisturizers and vitamins A, C, and E, it hydrates, smooths, and protects my hands. Trust me on this, it totally alleviated my dry, cracked hands in the midst of a subzero midwest winter. It’s the real deal.” — McLintock
“I absolutely love the Glossier You Eau de Parfum, so it’s no surprise I also love this hand cream. Obviously, I love the smell, but the brand also spent two full years perfecting the formula prior to its launch in 2020. It’s not too creamy, but it’s not too “lotion-y” either. Plus, it dries in about five seconds and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy or like you’ll be leaving a trail of oily fingerprints in your aftermath.” — Jahns
“This hand cream took me by surprise. I wasn’t too enthusiastic about the idea of my hands smelling like fresh grass, but when I tried it in a pinch, I quickly became obsessed with the scent and formula. Let’s talk scent first. Instead of smelling strongly like a lawn mover as I imagined it would, it smells subtle and fresh and bright and up-lifting. It was love at first sniff. Then, there’s the formula. It basically melts into my skin, making it feel super soft and smooth.” — McLintock
“Not only do I think this (refillable!) container looks so good on my nightstand, but every time I use it, I wake up with the softest hands. It has retinol to help with uneven texture and discoloration, and colloidal oatmeal to soothe chapped skin, so it’s especially a favorite of mine in the winter.” — Berohn
As a fashion editor, there is something so fun and satisfying seeing a trend start to percolate and then, over the course of some seasons, really start to take hold. The cool minimalist flats has been spotted on many in the fashion crowd.
One of the many perks of the see-through style becoming more and more popular is that a lot more options are available at every price point. By now, you’ve probably surmised we test-drive a lot of beauty products here at Who What Wear. From nail polish and makeup to hair and skincare, we’re eyebrow-deep in all things new, exciting, and wish list–worthy. That said, due to the number of products we come in contact with, we’ve become very nitpicky beauty consumers. Within seconds, we can tell if a new hair oil is too heavy, and we’re quick to ignore a serum that yields disappointing results.
The good news? We’re far more often impressed than unimpressed after trying out a new product, and usually, we simply can’t wait to spread the word to all of our fellow beauty lovers (that’s you!). Therefore, we’ve decided gushing over our latest fave products should become a monthly ritual. You can expect a full report every 30 days or so that details the highlighters, hair wands, and overnight skincare saviors we’ve fallen head over heels for.
For the most part, we’ll be covering buzzworthy launches, as those typically take up most of the action atop our product-filled desks, but we won’t dismiss new-to-us products, either. Sometimes, our best discoveries are found on a friend’s vanity or on someone’s face at the bar (true story). Ahead are the best beauty products we tried in May! Grab your game face and wallet because you’ll need both.
In the decade-plus that I’ve been covering beauty—not to mention the many years prior I spent being a consumer and tried-and-true fan—I’ve seen firsthand how Asian beauty brands have completely revolutionized the industry. (Who can even remember what it was like before K-beauty won over our skincare-loving hearts?) So every May when Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month comes around, I love learning about new beauty brands I haven’t tried yet and seeing how far we’ve come in terms of representation.
After giving birth to her daughter, Jennifer Yen, a former actor, followed a traditional postpartum Chinese tradition called zuo yue zi that allows the mother’s body to rest after giving birth and incorporates superfoods. It ended up revitalizing her skin, inspiring her to launch Yensa in 2018. (She’s also the founder of Purlisse.) Yen acknowledges the appreciation and interest surrounding Asian beauty in recent years. “I believe this rise started happening when Asian Americans started representing themselves by creating their own beauty and wellness brands, bringing parts of their culture and unique perspectives into the beauty industry. And with this came more representation for us in the press, in campaigns, social media, and mainstream media. It’s about time that our flyness and impact are being recognized,” she says.
Despite the progress that has been made, Yen says that we still have a long way to go to “ensure that AAPI representation is amplified and not a passing trend but rather a permanent presence in the beauty industry.” Peach & Lily founder Alicia Yoon shares a similar sentiment, especially when it comes to beauty campaigns, influencer collaborations, and companies. “There are also so many beautiful ingredients, beauty techniques, philosophies, and modalities coming from all over Asia, and it’s important for beauty brands to give credit where it’s due, and I believe customers love that transparency and context of knowing where things come from,” she says.

Kylie Jenner appears to be entering her minimalist era, and based on what I’ve seen so far, I’m here for it. While in Paris over the holiday weekend, Jenner wore a series of sleek designer looks in neutral shades, and she kept her jewelry equally low-key.
The high-end pieces Jenner wore in Paris were in the thousands, but the earrings she wore for one particular occasion cost far less. Jenner posted a look on her Instagram that included a white Alaïa dress that she paired with a The Row bag and Loewe heels. Her silver earrings, the subject of this story, were from the gender-inclusive Norwegian jewelry brand Tom Wood. The brand has been around for a decade but is still a bit under the radar in the U.S. (in a good way), and most pieces are well under $500.
Jenner opted for a pair of the brand’s Small Chunky Hoop Earrings with a satin silver finish, and you could genuinely wear them every single day. And while Tom Wood may not be everywhere in the U.S., I was pleased to see several of its most versatile pieces on Nordstrom.com right now, and they’re miraculously on sale. Scroll to shop those and other Tom Wood gems I found across the internet, including Jenner’s exact earrings.
