Los Angeles Sparks big Cameron Brink saw her 2024 rookie season cut short due to a torn ACL suffered on June 18.

While she didn’t get to prove why she deserved to be the No. 2 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Brink will head into the 2025 season with something to prove – and a new teammate in WNBA star Kelsey Plum.

“I look up to Kelsey so much … I was lucky enough to train with her while I was still in high school going into college. So we both have the same trainer, Susan King Borchardt … just seeing how hard she works from a young age to seeing her have success through the pros, winning championships ― knowing it’s always felt like she’s had my back,” she said of her new teammate, via For The Win.

“You know, it’s kind of like whoever works with Susan ― it’s kind of like the sisterhood because she kicks our butts … Kelsey’s just a really great teammate, and she’s gonna elevate the level of play for everyone. So, we’re excited to have her.”

Before she hits the court for the Sparks next month, Brink shouted out a friend with a post that caught the attention of her fans on social media.

Brink is no stranger to turning a few heads with her swimsuit posts after joining Sports Illustrated Swimsuit as a rookie earlier this year.

A professional boxer has died suddenly in the 3rd round of a fight.

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) “can officially confirm the death of a Nigerian boxer by the name Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju, who passed away at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,” the GBA wrote in a March 30, 2025, statement.

A disturbing video, posted to Facebook, shows the moment that the boxer suddenly fell backwards.

“The Nigerian Gabriel Oluwsegun Olanrewaju took on his Ghanaian opponent Jon Mbanugu in a light heavyweight international contest over 8 rounds on the Imax Boxing Promotions fights bill for the ongoing Bel 7star energy drink professional boxing league for week 15,” the statement says.

“Oluwasegun seemed to have dominated the fight from round one but unfortunately met his untimely exit from the ring in round 3 (2 minutes 46 seconds),” the statement continues.

Gabriel Oluwasegun, a few seconds before the third round ended, stepped “back during the fight and leaned on the ropes with his back without any punch whatsoever from his opponent Jon Mbanugu,” the GBA wrote.

“The referee, Richard Amevi sensing danger, waved his hand for the end of the fight, and immediately invited the ringside physician with the support of paramedics from the national ambulance service to attend to the boxer and help resuscitate him,” the statement says.

“After applying the first-aid resuscitating process, the boxer was immediately transported to the Korlebu Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes after arrival,” it notes.

The GBA president, Abraham Kotei Neequaye, “who was close to the scene at the ring side and at the hospital, immediately started the processes of preserving the boxer’s body after he was pronounced dead, whilst speaking to the General Secretary of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBC), Remi Abodorin on the situation,” it adds.

“The GBA president reported the incident to the Korle Bu police station, and this morning helped to move the body to the main mortuary for preservation.”

The cause of death was not given.

Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju “was declared medically fit by the Nigeria Boxing Board Control (NBBC) with his certified certificate as a professional boxer before the GBA sanctioned and approved the international contest,” the statement continues. “He entered the ring with an official record of 23 fights, 8 defeats, 13 victories, and 12 of the victories came by way of knockouts.”

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) is “seriously mourning the demise of a potential world beater who was dictating a beautiful fight and all of a sudden visited the canvas and fell into what has been described as an induced coma even though an official cause of death is yet to be made available after autopsy,” the statement continued.

It was signed by Mohammed Amin Lamptey, the GBA’s director of communication.

Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end, chose not to retire after their loss to the Eagles and is now preparing for his 13th NFL season.

Speaking to reporters from the NFL owners’ meeting, coach Andy Reid said that Kelce is now “training like crazy,” via The Athletic. 

“I just wanted him to put it out there and not me,” Reid said. “I always like guys to step back [after the season], but he wants to come back and he’s training like crazy, too.”

Speaking on his New Heights podcast, he shared, “I think the biggest thing is that I f*****g love playing the game of football. I love playing. I still feel like I can play it at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don’t think it was my best outing.”

“I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I’ve been in years past,”  he continued. 

Fortunately, the 35-year-old is finding time to rest when he isn’t busy training. In March, People reported that he and his girlfriend Taylor Swift enjoyed a private getaway in Montana. 

The two were seen dining with a mutual friend, sportscaster Erin Andrews, according to an Insider. 

Andrews previously gushed to the outlet about Kelce and Swift. “Man, they’re great,” she said. “I love them so much. I think they are so cute, and I love how they support each other. They’re adorable.”

Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar were part of a presentation at CinemaCon, an annual convention for theater owners and studios, on April 1 and offered a first look at The Housemaid, opening on Christmas Day.

During the talk, Sweeney said she was a big fan of Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel, The Housemaid, and knew she “had to be” a part of the movie.

“I could not put it down,” Sweeney continued of the book. “I love when there’s so many unexpected twists and turns and characters that have flaws … but you also love them at the same time. You question your morals.”

The film, which was directed by Paul Feig, “Follows a struggling woman who is happy to start over as a housemaid for an affluent, elite couple,” according to IMDb. Of course, it isn’t that easy. The relationship between Millie and the Winchesters becomes tense, and this film promises to be a wild ride for viewers.

The struggling woman is Millie, played by Sweeney, and the couple is Nina, portrayed by Seyfried, and Andrew Winchester, played by Sklenar.

So, how close is this film to the book? Sklenar, who is also the star of the Yellowstone spinoff 1923, dished that in the film, Andrew is “a very complex character and he’s playing a lot of versions of himself and constantly manipulating those around him. That’s a heady headspace to get to.”

He also said that Andrew is “a bit more of a force than he is in the book.” He added, “It’s surprising how much it takes it out of you to be this unhinged. But fun.”

CinemaCon isn’t “open to the public, which means no releases of exclusive footage and first-look reveals from the highly anticipated event,” noted Discussing Film.
