This Trend Went Viral on the Emmys Red Carpet

About halfway through the Emmy Awards red carpet tonight, there was an overwhelming trend taking over. It’s not subtle. There’s no way to miss it. It’s yellow—bright, burst-of-sunshine, neatly highlighter-marker yellow.

Of course, the trend of yellow is not new in fashion. Our community of Who What Wear readers love it, an entire generation has been tied to it, but there’s no better evidence of a major trend than at least eight stylish celebrities wearing the same color within the same red carpet event.

Ahead, see the happy-making trend that literally dominated the entire Emmys red carpet. We’re not one bit mad about it either.

Sophie Hunter went for a sophisticated high-neck design.
Alison Brie opted for cutouts and a super high slit Miu Miu dress.
Abbi Jacobson’s light yellow peplum dress was so lovely. (Also, hi, Ilana!)
Ashley Nicole Black’s shoulder embellishments on her Jaime Elyse dress stole the show here.
Taking the highlighter route, Regina King stunned in her  bold, nearly greenish shade of yellow.
All. Hail. Judith. Light. (With the help of Christian Siriano, that is.)
Ethereal being and onscreen badass Gwendoline Christie brought the sunshine.
Adina Porter wins for the most interesting neckline.

See all the best moments—yellow and otherwise—from the Emmys red carpet tonight.
