Kitty Spencer Wore This Meghan Markle–Approved Trend on the Red Carpet

Earlier this week, Meghan Markle completed a milestone by making her first solo appearance on behalf of the royal family. For the occasion, she wore a pretty Givenchy dress that was the chicest interpretation of the sheer sleeves trend we’ve seen in a while. As it turns out, Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, was on the same page with the trend this week.

Attending the London premiere of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s movie, A Star Is Born, Spencer wore a romantic black gown with billowy sheer sleeves that reminded us of Markle’s outfit earlier this week. She finished the look with a Bulgari bag and jewelry, resulting in a downright dreamy red carpet look. Scroll down to see how Spencer and Markle interpret the sheer-sleeve trend and shop the look for yourself.

The “Boring” Trend Every Girl in Italy Is Wearing

If you’ve read my past few posts, then you know that I was just in Italy for Milan Fashion Week, and I’ve really been pushing the power of a simple white tank. While I’ve already shared my savvy styling tricks for making the wardrobe essential look expensive and the under-$10 items I wore on repeat with the basic, today I’m slightly shifting the focus and highlighting how different street style stars styled the combination while in Milan.

I spotted the outfit trend nearly every day either arriving or leaving shows, and the common trend among the look was pairing the “boring” piece with statement bottoms. Whether that’s printed trousers that fit like a gem or a cool snakeskin skirt that’s especially on trend, either way, girls in Italy played it laid-back on top with a white tank or tee and playful on the bottom wearing statement prints and textures.

To inspire your next white-tee outfit, I’ve rounded up the best MFW street style moments that can easily be re-created, and all revolve around the one wardrobe basic. Keep reading to see the looks, and let us know how you’re styling a white tank this season using the hashtag #WhoWhatWearing on Instagram.

You can’t go wrong with this matching pink set.
Snakeskin and a simple white tee are all we need.
We’re into the super-boxy sleeves of this crisp white T-shirt.
An all-white outfit, but throw on a pink blazer.
The oversize blazer lends an extra-laid-back vibe to this Italian look.
Proof a basic white shirt doesn’t have to be “boring.”  See how I styled the wardrobe basic while I was in Italy below.

Adidas Is Going to Make a Killing With These Superstar Boots

As far as sneakers go, Adidas Originals Superstars are legendary. They’ve undoubtedly reached classic status at this point, so it makes sense that Adidas would want to capitalize on that success. There have been plenty of iterations of the sneakers since their re-release, but now, the brand is doing something different: releasing a combat boot version of the Superstar sneakers.

In a press release yesterday, Adidas announced that it has reinterpreted “the original Superstar model into a rugged, high-top design,” exclusively for women. The boots will soon be released in white, black, and other seasonal colors (so you know the brand is banking on the shoes’ success). Combat and hiking boots are a key shoe trend of F/W 18, so a sellout of these is most likely imminent. Thanks to the sturdy rubber sole, we’re particularly looking forward to wearing the boots in the winter, and the minimal design makes the boots particularly versatile. Pair them with everything from jeans and shearling jackets to plaid blazers and trousers.

The release date of the boots is yet to be announced, but it will be in the near future. For now, get a glimpse of them below and shop other Adidas sneakers that are perfect for fall and winter.

HBO Is Getting Out of The Boxing Business After 45 Years

Gennady Golovkin punches Canelo Alvarez during their WBC/WBA middleweight title rematch at T-Mobile Arena on September 15 in Las Vegas.

After 45 years of broadcasting boxing’s biggest fights, HBO announced Thursday that it will no longer cover the Sweet Science after this October.

A statement released by HBO and published by Yahoo reads, “Boxing has been part of our heritage for decades. During that time, the sport has undergone a transformation. It is now widely available on a host of networks and streaming services.”

“Going forward in 2019, we will be pivoting away from programming live boxing on HBO. As always, we will remain open to looking at events that fit our programming mix. This could include boxing, just not for the foreseeable future.”

A middleweight title bout between Daniel Jacobs and Sergiy Derevyanchenko at Madison Square Garden on October 27 will be the last live fight HBO airs.

The New York Times was the first outlet to report the news and obtained a statement from Peter Nelson, executive vice president of HBO Sports.

“This is not a subjective decision,” Nelson said. “Our audience research informs us that boxing is no longer a determinant factor for subscribing to HBO.”

A 20-year-old Tyson demolished Trevor Berbick on HBO to become the youngest heavyweight champ ever in 1986.

Fans who have watched everything from Buster Douglas’ legendary knockout of Mike Tyson to Gennady Golovkin’s controversial loss to Canelo Alvarez in their recent rematch reacted on Twitter:

Boxing fan site Bad Left Hook kept its chin up in a post about the shocking development:

HBO Boxing began in 1973 with George Foreman’s destruction of Joe Frazier, and in all has hosted more than 1,000 fights. Beyond the cards themselves, it hosted regular boxing content, including The Fight Game with Jim Lampley and its 24/7 series.

The sport and this network have been inextricably linked for much longer than I’ve been alive, and it will be extremely strange to see it go.

We won’t be starved for content, at least. DAZN and ESPN+ are making strong inroads, and even Facebook is getting in on the action thanks to a partnership with Golden Boy and Main Events. The sport we love is still here, with plenty of pillars rising to take the newfound slack.

Meanwhile, it looks like HBO’s longtime pay cable rival, Showtime, has scored at TKO when it comes to broadcasting big fights going forward.

It’s Avril Lavigne’s Birthday, So Celebrate With Her Hottest Maxim Throwback Photos

(Photo: Maxim)

Come with us, if you will, to the year 2002.

Donald Trump was a real estate tycoon with a bad haircut, Hillary Clinton was a junior senator from New York with a bad husband, and Avril Lavigne was a punky young pop starlet who burst onto the scene with her debut hit single, “Complicated.”

Then, there was “Sk8er Boi.”

Ah, what a simpler time it was.

Case in point, now you can’t even Google search Avril Lavigne’s name without coming across malware… or conspiracies that she is secretly dead and has been replaced by a clone. Luckily, you’re safe from all that nonsense here.
