The New IMax Poster For ‘Venom’ Will Eat Your Soul
We’ve never seen a Marvel movie poster quite like this. Via Bloody Disgusting, this is the IMAX poster for Tom Hardy’s Venom and it does a damn good job of telling us in one image that this isn’t your daddy’s comic book menace.
Venom is, of course, the tale of a boy and his evil alien symbiote, and how they learn to get along and support each other through various hardships. Hardy plays the title character, who is a hapless reporter named Eddie Brock when he meets his pet alien creature.
The poster is the opposite of pretty much any Marvel production’s art. It’s a world away from any Avengers poster, for instance—those pretty much hold a stadium’s worth of superheroes most of the time.
Does that tell us something about the inner life of a man stricken with an affliction that gives him awesome super powers and a knack for eating bad guys’ heads? An alleged plot leak might lead us to a deeper understanding.
Or maybe this is just a cool movie about a man-monster with a horrific tongue and teeth rampaging through the city.
We’ll find out when Venom is in theaters on Oct. 5.

Internet Roasts Weatherman For Faking Battle With High Wind During Hurricane Florence
The video above was recorded during a live shot on the Weather Channel. The network’s longtime reporter Mike Seidel was on the scene as Hurricane Florence moved on land near Wilmington, North Carolina, and Seidel was bearing the brunt of the wind.
At least it seemed that way until a couple of dudes in hoodies went strolling by in the background.
The juxtaposition was funny enough to be straight out of sketch comedy, but unfortunately for Seidel, it made the whole thing look like an act. One he compounded with dramatic lines like “This is about as nasty as it’s been.”
Also unfortunately for Seidel, this video went viral in nothing flat. To say that he was mercilessly roasted might be too gentle.
Some even took an inexplicably political view of the video, treating it as if it proved some larger point.
The Weather Channel defended Seidel, who to his credit has been a reliable and perhaps even beloved fixture of severe storm coverage through the years.
Through a spokesman, the network said “It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1 a.m. this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted.”
Some felt this explanation made things worse.
It was admittedly hard to buy what they were selling, but the Weather Channel and Seidel definitely had defenders.
Hurricane Florence lost strength before coming ashore but multiple media reports indicate it has still been a storm for the ages, causing catastrophic flooding and killing at least 12 as of Sunday.
One weather guy possibly faking a single shot is really nothing to remember beside such a deadly event. Still, reporters have pulled moves like this in the past.
Mike Seidel will come out of this just fine and the internet needs something to do with its tweets. It’ll take North Carolina much longer to recover from this disaster.
Canelo Alvarez Defeats Gennady Golovkin In Boxing’s Biggest Grudge Match
Saturday, in a tight match before a crowd of nearly 22,000 at the T-Mobile Arena, Gennady Golovkin narrowly defeated Canelo Alvarez.
Losing was perhaps especially painful for Golovkin—it was his first loss ever defending his long-running status as the middle weight titleholder. This could be strong motivation for a third match.
The judges’ final scores showed just what a slim victory it truly was: two called it a victory for Alvarez, 115-113, but the third put it down as a tie, 114-114.
The 12th round was where the rubber met the road and the judges gave it to Alvarez. So, after the match, the winner said he’d achieved victory “with facts.”
Speaking in his native Spanish, Alvarez continued, “He was the one who was backing up. I feel satisfied because I gave a great fight. It was a clear victory.”
Golovkin has successfully defended his title for eight years, so it’s likely the loss wasn’t just physically painful. He immediately left the ring without comment after hearing the judges’ decision, ostensibly to get stitches over his right eye. Later, he said, “I’m not going to say who won tonight, because the victory belongs to Canelo—according to the judges.”
“I thought it was a very good fight for the fans, and very exciting,” Golovkin said, “I thought I fought better than he did.”
Compubox tweeted some of the key stats.
Twitter commentary was all over the place, from enthused celebs who just enjoyed watching to enraged fans calling foul.
In the minds of most fans, there’s probably one pressing question: when will there be a third fight?
Alvarez said, “If the people want another round, I’ll do it again.”
Golovkin was less direct. “Under the right conditions, yes.”
Golf Beauty Paige Spiranac Just Proved She’s the Sexiest Steelers Fan Ever
Paige Spiranac isn’t concerned about those painfully lame trolls who think she needs to tone down her racy attire.
Instagram’s most gorgeous golfer made that clear when she showed her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers by sporting a team beanie and a low-cut black tank ahead of their home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“You guys know I love golf, but some of you probably didn’t know that I’m a huge football fan too,” she wrote in a promotion for a FanDuel fantasy football contest. “Both my parents are from Pittsburgh so I love my Steelers!
Spiranac made the 2018 Maxim Hot 100 and was also featured in the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
We’re happy to report that the black-and-gold-bleeding beauty hasn’t stopped posting mesmerizing Instagram pics. See some of her most stunning recent uploads below:
