After resurrecting cult ’80s brand Laura Ashley this summer, Urban Outfitters has set its sights on a different decade: the ’90s. The retailer has teamed up with Anna Sui on an exclusive new collaboration, launching today, that features the most iconic pieces from Sui’s 1994 collection.
“Inspired by Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love, and Naomi Campbell, the assortment evokes the vibe of ’90s nostalgia with contemporary silhouettes and textures; plaids, denim, and mesh, in miniskirts, dresses and baby tees,” Urban Outfitters explained in a statement. Campbell, of course, was a regular on Sui’s runways in the ’90s, alongside the likes of Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, and Carla Bruni. How can we possibly choose our favorite item from this eight-piece, under-$175 collection? Scroll down to shop the collab before it sells out.
Entering Prada’s show was one of the most hectic yet thrilling moments of my Milan Fashion Week experience this year. The crowd of people swarming to catch a glimpse of celebrities walking into the show made it nearly impossible to make it through security. The venue and vibe were like no other, there was techno music blaring, bright lime green walls matched the invitations, and my favorite part was the inflatable seats. Like most shows in Milan, the demonstration started a solid 30 minutes late once key front-row attendees had arrived.
Miuccia Prada sent almost every model down the runway wearing oversize puffed headbands, some in satin and other leather with studs. The overall collection had a late-’60s vibe with mod A-line minidresses, structured handbags, knee-high socks, and polished printed outerwear. My favorite look goes to the below black dress; I had the chance to view up close during the re-see in Milan. Keep reading to see the top moments from Prada’s spring collection.
When Game of Thronesis over in 2019 it won’t really be over. Reruns and an avid fandom will keep it alive for years to come—and that provides more opportunities for HBO to make some more money.
That’s why, Deadline reports, Northern Ireland locations like Castle Ward in County Down and the old quarry that doubles as the set for Magheramorne will be available for fans seeking real immersion into George R.R. Martin’s fantasy land.
The settings will be open to tourists in 2019, so no one will have to wait that long once the show is over.
GoT fans love the intense drama, the fantasy, and the intrigue, but it’s easy to see how irresistible it might be to walk in the footsteps of Daenerys Targaryen, Ned Stark, and Jon Snow. Northern Ireland is just as stunning as it seems even without the aid of CGI.
Thrones has filmed in other locations, including Iceland and Portugal.
While Ireland and Iceland can be a little frosty depending on the season, it seems like a sure bet anyone in charge of the sunny Portugal locations could make a mint on appealing to GoT-loving tourists there.
Kingsman: The Secret Serviceblew the doors off the box office four years ago, pulling in $414 million. The success of the movie about British secret agents in impeccably well-tailored suits wielding firearms like John Wick was an unexpected surprise.
It was also a good excuse to make a trilogy with Kingsman: The Golden Circle and an upcoming, untitled third installment.
The news was announced in a tweet from film industry analysts Exhibitor Relations.
Writer-director Matthew Vaughn will be back for the third movie, which only makes sense given he’s responsible for the amazing look of Secret Service and Golden Circle, movies with some incredibly well-choreographed and thrilling fight sequences.
Gamespot noted the opening date for the next Kingsman—Nov. 8, 2019—is the same as the original release date for the next James Bond movie. That would have been an interesting clash between Englishmen licensed to kill, but it looks as though the next Bond will be in theaters in February 2020.
Currently the date is all anyone knows about Kingsman 3, but it’s easy to assume original cast members like Taron Egerton and Colin Firth will return, with neatly-knotted ties, umbrellas, and portable rocket launchers in hand.
Garoppolo was carted off the field after injuring his knee in a running play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. You can see his leg buckle in the video below:
Alexandra King’s response to Garoppolo’s devastating injury and the 49ers’ 27-38 loss was ice cold. The same woman who called the 26-year-old NFL star her “Valentine” back in February reportedly posted the word “Karma” and a smiley face emoji to her Instagram Story. Harsh!
NFL insider Ian Rapoport initially tweeted that 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan feared Garoppolo suffered a “season-ending” ACL tear. An MRI on Monday appeared to confirm the injury.
While King clearly has little sympathy Garoppolo, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady certainly does.
“I feel terrible for him,” Brady said during an interview on WEEI’s Kirck and Callahan radio show. “It’s a tough injury. I feel bad for Jimmy, and it’s football. Things happen like that. I’ve been through an ACL. It just sucks.”
Garoppolo helped win two Super Bowls alongside the superstar Patriots signal caller. He was traded to the 49ers in 2017 and signed a record-breaking $137.5 million contract with the team last February.
“You hate to see people go down, and (Jimmy) is someone I really like and have been friends with since the day he got here,” Brady added. “It just sucks to have to go through that.”
It was rumored that King was none to pleased with Garoppolo after his well-publicized date with adult star Kara Mia.
In any event, we hope the injured QB gets well soon. And while her revenge ‘gram wasn’t the nicest thing to say, at least King has a few that are definitely less mean-spirited:
Orgasms as we know them are great, but here’s something to bring your sex life to the next level: Edging.
Also known as orgasm control, edging involves getting really close to the point of no return, but stopping before you cross that thin line and making that impending orgasm go back to where it came from for just a while longer. Once you feel like you can last a little longer, start going at it again.
Some fans of this technique do this cycle multiple times, whereas others can’t or don’t want to handle it any longer and come after the first time. It’s all up to your personal preference, and likewise, you can also implement this on your girlfriend and really blow her mind.
While stopping yourself (or your partner) from climaxing may sound like cruel and unnecessary torture to some, it actually makes for a much more powerful orgasm when you finally do finish. This is because edging increases sensitivity and blood flow in your naughty bits, which is vital for amazing orgasms.
“There is increased blood flow into the pelvic area when you stop orgasm and continue stimulation,” Courtney Cleman, founder of the V. Club, tells Redbook.
“When we think of blood flow, we usually think of a male erection. But women have ‘erections’ of their clitoral organ, [and] edging creates a stronger erection for both men and women.”
But aside from the physiological effects, edging also has the psychological aspect of wanting what you can’t have, which only makes you want it more. You know how we all tend to chase the people who pull away? It’s basically the same thing. And after edging a few times and teasing yourself with that imminent orgasm, it’s going to be explosive and absolutely phenomenal.
Furthermore, edging involves delaying gratification for a greater ultimate outcome, and science has proven multiple times that doing just that makes the end result so, so much more enjoyable.
In fact, one of the most well-known psychological studies in history – the Stanford Marshmallow Experiment — found that people who have the willpower to keep from indulging immediately are more successful in life, too, because it’s best to wait for something to reach its full potential before giving in.
When it comes to edging, think of your orgasm like a water balloon: You can fill up the balloon normally and throw it at someone, and it’ll be fun. But if you slowly add more and more water and fill it to the point of nearly bursting, it’ll be so much more explosive and satisfying when you finally throw it and soak the person.
Similarly, edging is great for improving self-control and is a particularly good idea for those of us who tend to come just a bit too soon. The more you edge, the better you get at it, therefore the better control you have over your orgasms.
Lastly, Cleman has a bit of advice for anyone who wants to try edging: “You don’t want to confuse your partner and make them wonder why it is taking you extra time to reach orgasm. Be open about your desire to edge. It’s a hot, sexual practice that a couple can enjoy together.”
As someone who recently discovered edging, I very highly recommend giving it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
