At first, the idea of buying a worldly, traveled person a gift sounds pretty intimidating. However, after giving this some further thought, I realized that jet setters are actually among the easiest to shop for. Why? Because you know exactly what they like! You see, it turns out that when you know someone’s interests—especially such a major one—it makes buying them a gift exponentially easier. Whether your budget allows for a shiny new carry-on suitcase or you’re closer to the range of a cute luggage tag, there are so many things the traveler could use, and more importantly, appreciate. To see the 23 I think are the best for this holiday season, simply keep on reading!

As I’ve probably mentioned a million times in the intros of my stories, I wear jeans a lot, and pretty much any time it’s not too hot for it, my footwear of choice is some type of ankle boots. As you can imagine, this has landed me with quite the collection of both denim and footwear, but like all of us, I end up with a handful of favorites I wear on repeat every season, above all the others. Right now, this selection consists of four different pairs of jeans (two black, one blue, and one leopard) with six different pairs of ankle boots. Below, I’ll be showing you just what these are, telling you what makes each item so great, and of course, making it all shoppable. Well, go on and get started below!
These are my newest jeans, and I’ve been wearing them many days and almost any night I go out. They go so well with all boots, actually, but especially these super-easy and extremelycomfortable Western ones from Paige. This is the first of three photos in this roundup where you’ll see me in these Agolde Pinch Jeans that I’m obsessed with right now. I highly suggest everyone buy them. These Dr. Martens I paired them with in this shot are perfect for walking around the streets of NYC, and I’m confident will prove even worthier as we get more into winter. Up next, we have an older pair of (unfortunately no-longer-available) Citizens of Humanity jeans, which I’ve found a similar replacement for below, paired with my statement-making Anine Bing boots. I just love the contrast of the white star on the predominately black boots, and the Western touches all around. Back in my Pinch jeans, here I’ve paired them with incredibly sleek, croc-embossed boots by Freda Salvador. I love how they give me some height without looking too dressy to wear in the day. While I tend to keep my overall style (and color palette) pretty neutral, one of the few things I make an exception for is a good animal print. I love these leopard jeans by Paige so much, and they look perfect with my longtime-favorite simple black ankle boots from The Row. Last, but certainly not least, we have these showstopping python-print boots by Gia Couture, again with the Pinch jeans. If you want a standout piece that will still be easy to style and go with just about everything you’d wear black boots with, these are the shoes for you.
Year after year, there’s one style icon we keep coming back to—Carrie Bradshaw. During its original airtime, Sex and the Citycontained some of the biggest fashion labels and trends in the sartorial world. Fast-forward a bit and you’ll reach the time in our lives when watching reruns of the series had us cringing at the site of nearly every look on the show. Today, and thanks to the S/S 19 runways, we find ourselves right back where we started—idolizing Carrie and her ever-evolving wardrobe.
Call it what you want, but here at Who What Wear, we love analyzing fresh batches of trends in as many ways as possible. This time around, we’re wondering one thing: Should Sarah Jessica Parker’s character onSex and the Citybe in existence today, which 2019 trends would she wear? Every answer we came up with is waiting for you below. With picture proof from back in the day and current market picks to satisfy your Carrie-inspired shopping craving, this just might be the most relevant Carrie Bradshaw shopping story we’ve done yet.
We aren’t predicting a slow-down in the heritage bag front any time soon. Thanks to the return of the iconic Dior Saddle Bag that Carrie (of course) regularly carries throughout Sex and the City’s run, nostalgic handbags are making their triumphant return all over the place. We have a feeling Carrie would still use the one in this photo in 2019 and beyond. The return of all things ’90s is still feeling very current, but it’s these barely there sandals that retailers can’t seem to keep in stock. Considering she’s known for her extensive shoe collection, it comes as no surprise that Carrie had, and would have today, the sleekest barely there sandals around.Slip dresses are now a staple item women are wearing in and outside of the bedroom. While in this exact shot, Carrie is lounging with Mr. Big, we wouldn’t put it past her to rock the dress style out and about, dressed up with those aforementioned barely there sandals and a fuzzy coat.Suiting, once reserved for the likes of a conference room and your desk chair, has spent the last year proving it belongs in the everyday wardrobe of a modern woman. Carrie Bradshaw was clearly way ahead of the curve when it came to this concept. Today, we have no doubt she’d have suits aplenty filling up her Manhattan closet.Animal print is one of those trends that really blew up this year in every form possible, but one of the micro-trends that emerged as a by-product was snakeskin boots. Once again, Carrie was way ahead of the curve, rocking them with none other than a furry coat and multiple designer shopping bags in hand. Today, we think she’d love the below styles just as much.We never put it past Carrie to flaunt a slightly overdressed look on any occasion. Be it lunch with the girls, a Dodger game, or a cocktail party, Carrie showed up in a full look every time. What we always loved about her formal attire was that she frequently opted for frocks with couture-inspired detailing, including corsetry, feathers, and hand embroidery. In the S/S 19 collections, designers started incorporating those same details into their ready-to-wear collections, making us feel like dressing up is officially a thing again—a thing Carrie taught us oh so well.Utilitarian-inspired pieces are a huge 2019 trend, and that includes cargo pants that air on the sleeker side of the spectrum. Back in the day, Carrie styled hers with a tube top, which would look just as current today.

While there’s no denying that sweaters will always be a cold-weather staple, after a few months of heavy rotation, they can feel—for lack of a better word—boring. I’ll be the first to admit that I can get into a slight outfit rut toward the end of the season and end up reaching for the same sweater-and-jeans combo I’ve been rocking for the past few months. During desperate times like these, I turn to the mecca of all outfit inspiration for fresh styling ideas: Instagram (where else?!).
After looking to our stylish readers for innovation, I’m proud to say that I filled up my saved folder with genius sweater outfit ideas I plan on replicating ASAP. From pairing unexpected prints to creative layering tricks, you’re sure to pick up a new outfit idea (or 10) for your favorite sweater from the below 24 looks. And if you find yourself in the market for some new pieces after browsing these outfits, I’ve also shopped out a few styles you’ll be thrilled you own come winter.
When in doubt, accessorize. Treat your leopard pants like a neutral and add your favorite striped sweater. Swap your standard ankle boots for sneakers for a cool-girl twist. As if you needed another reason to add a cropped cardigan to your closet, I give you exhibit A. Toughen up your favorite sweater with edgy accessories. Leave the bottom buttons of your cardigan undone for an effortless vibe. Add patent leather pants and sneakers to any sweater and you’ve got a very 2018 look. You definitely have every piece of this outfit in your closet already.Mixing prints has never looked so cool.Layer a blazer over your sweater for the office. Add a pop of color to your look with a rainbow-striped sweater. Sweater + slip skirt + knee-high boots = my favorite fall outfit combo. A leather jacket and cozy sweater are a match made in sartorial heaven. A mini-bag and fun flats make your sweater pop. I’ll be adding a printed bag to my neutral look for an unexpected twist. A case for matching your shoes to your sweater.Proof monochrome is always a chic idea. Printed pants were made for a solid sweater. Note to self: Try colorblocking. A slip skirt–and-sweater combo is so polished for the office.A fun button-styling idea. Tuck your cardigan into your denim for a Parisian vibe. It doesn’t get more fall 2018 than a neon sweater. Layer your favorite printed dress from summer underneath a solid sweater.
This is not your grandma’s cardigan.
How good is this color?!
The striped sweater you’ve definitely seen on the ‘gram.
I’m still not over lavender.
How bad do you want to feel this sweater?
Another good stripe option.
What I want to be wearing all day, every day.

I realize that saying my wardrobe would look significantly different without a few key brands is a big statement, but I stand by it. Recently I went to take stock of my wardrobe, and it immediately became apparent which items I reached for day in and day out. Like most of us, I rely heavily on wardrobe basics to help me easily style the trendier items I own, but not all basics are made equal, if you ask me. Among all the plain T-shirts, bodysuits, and loungewear I own, there are a few key brands I rely on for high-quality pieces that fit like a dream and make even the simplest outfits look stylish.
From the softest sweatshirt I’ve ever worn to the not-so-basic T-shirts that always add a something special to my outfits and even one black bodysuit to end all black bodysuits, I’m sharing all my favorite basic clothing brands that have totally changed my wardrobe for the better. Sure, they’re called “basics,” but all the items from the below five brands offer interesting updates to these classic staple pieces.

I didn’t think someone could make me love a simple crewneck sweatshirt until I tried this cropped version and the coordinating joggers from Cotton Citizen. The material is beyond soft, and I like how the cropped shape gives it an updated spin. Above is an outfit I regularly wear into the office because it’s easy but still put-together.It’s also become my go-to travel sweatshirt.I’m a big fan of the coordinating joggers, too.I just added this tee to my closet, and it might be the softest one I own.The brand just launched the coolest denim sets, and Michelle, Kristen, and I jumped at the chance to test out the new styles first.Yep, they just made a classic denim jacket way cooler. This baggy shape is the denim trend getting all the buzz right now.N:Philanthropy makes lighter-than-light tees with creative cutouts and some pretty cool knit pieces, too. But what really sold me on the brand is that it’s pledged to donate 10% of all proceeds to charities it strongly believes in.The tee I’m wearing above. The neckline cutout adds an interesting dimension, and I reach for it when I want to dress simply without my outfit looking “boring.”I have this in both white and black. That’s how good it is.This dress might be the definition of easy dressing.Your favorite black sweater just met its match.Make this your go-to top for winter.I’m sure you hardly need an introduction to Everlane. The brand has long been on my radar, but it was only recently that I nabbed something from its vast selection of ethically made wardrobe staples. After searching far and wide for the perfect boxy-fit T-shirt, I ordered one of the men’s tees on a whim and instantly fell in love. This is the tee I’m wearing above. As the name suggests, it’s a heavyweight cotton, which makes it the perfect slightly oversize tee to wear tucked into trousers. This simple scoop neck is giving me a French-girl vibe.I’m stocking up on one of each color turtleneck for the season ahead. You’d be hard-pressed to find high-quality cashmere sweaters for this price point anywhere else.Meet the top you’ll wear with jeans nonstop.I’d wear this with white sneakers during the day and swap them out for strappy sandals as soon as the sun sets.Repeat after me: I need this top.Zip this all the way up for a completely different look. The material is on the thicker side and really hugs you in. I could tell immediately how much attention to detail was put into making it.The next bodysuit I plan to try. This looks beyond cozy. All I want to wear are these matching knit sets.
The shoe trends of 2018 are really quite varied: On one runway you’ll find delicate, dainty heels covered in pretty embellishments. On the other you’ll find stompy cowboy boots. In one camp—where both Balenciaga and Christopher Kane see eye-to-eye—there are souped-up Crocs. But take a hop, skip, and a jump over to another atelier, and it’s all about 1980s-inspired, spiked stiletto pumps. There are sensible options and wildly impractical ones; statement styles exist, but so do very wise go-with-everything investment purchases. Basically, if you’re a shoe lover (er, duh), then this year is your year: You have every footwear trend, silhouette, color, and finish possible.
That in itself can be a touch overwhelming, so we’ve gathered the best runway shoe-spiration to bring you a concise edit of what will be most useful and impactful for your own wardrobe. See our top shoe trends for 2018, and shop the pieces you can already snap up now—at different price points.
Cowboy boots are dominating 2018: They work nicely for essentially all seasons. Our first dibs go to Chloé’s red snake-print versions seen on the spring runway, but we’d happily have any of the following shoppable versions too…Thick-soled and highly detailed, that’s how we’ll like our sneakers in 2018. Louis Vuitton’s led the pack, but already we’ve seen that Balenciaga’s Triple S styles keep selling out, and now affordable stores are on board too.On the opposite side of the spectrum from all of those comfy, bouncy sneaks you have the ultimate in seriously high ’80s-style stiletto pumps. It’s a shoe trend that many retailers are buying heavily into, and if Victoria Beckham is in on the movement, we could be persuaded… Bonus points if you wear them in an unexpected color. Many designers have incorporated extra-bright brights into their clothing, but there’s also a lot to be said for simply adding a pair of hot-hued shoes (particularly in primary shades of yellow, red, and blue) into your existing wardrobe. Our dream start would be with these Rochas mules.Chanel leads the charge when it comes to spring’s see-through plastic trend (Karl Lagerfeld employed the fabric for every imaginable item, not just footwear), but there are other designer names backing the idea up: Balmain, Moschino, and Calvin Klein to name a few. Shop our favorites in the next few slides.A Céline-led trend is always a good trend. The curved heel harkens a Victoria-type flare that we’re heavy into for 2018.It doesn’t get fancier than feathers, and this year it’s all about a statement plume to take your night-out heels to the next level. Practical and chic, a shoe plus sock are a match made in sartorial heaven. Your toes will stay toasty and blisters will be kept at bay. More is more when it comes to the world of kitsch embellishment. Gems, jewels, and crystals make perfect adornments for these OTT shoes. The industry’s penchant for white shoes continues, and this season, there will be plenty of chic, Tipex-white sandals on offer. One particularly desirable pair were introduced by Michael Kors, but until you can grab those, see our other favorites that are available today. Decisions, decisions. Opening Image: Getty Images. If you’re like us, then you’re a huge fan of Everlane. (You know, the relatively affordable brand that makes the best not-so-basic basics.) Everlane shoppers know that the brand’s pieces are constantly selling out—and for good reason. From its silk tops and tees to its trousers and shoes, everything the brand makes is an automatic home run (hence its loyal followers and waiting lists in the thousands). Everlane has been a pioneer in creating a new sort of luxury, an accessibility of quality that is quite democratic. They don’t subscribe to a traditional collection release schedule, ensuring that they can drop new pieces when they believe in a product without being held to a calendar.
So whether you’re on a waiting list yourself or are simply looking to diversify your closet, we’re sharing five brands we think any Everlane lover would wear. These brands similarly offer wardrobe builders at an affordable price point. We’ve got Aritzia, the Canadian brand well known for their fresh takes on basics that won’t make a major dent in your bank account, as well as Grana, a brand that’s very similar to Everlane in that they aim to bring transparency to the apparel industry on pricing, forgoing traditional markups and passing the savings on to the customer. Scroll on to discover and shop the brands any Everlane fan would love.
Aritzia, the Canada-based retailer that boasts an impressive roster of covetable in-house brands and exclusives, is a mecca for simple yet statement-making knits, dresses, and separates that are perfect for work and the weekend.Launched by former Vogue staffers, La Ligne nods to the timeless, classy feel that we love about Everlane. Expect reinvented staples and lots of stripes.Much like Everlane, Grana seeks to provide shoppers with quality basics at a low price, relative to the luxury space. Through its cost-saving business model, it’s able to sell things like linen shirts and pants for under $100. The brand also provides info on the item’s fabric sourcing and production. With the brand’s name standing for all year round, AYR’s versatile pieces really do work year-round. Consider it your new destination for elevated essentials.Elin Kling’s Totême is the quickest way to steal the It girl’s elegant, cool, and covetable style—all while investing in pieces you’ll wear for years to come.
