Fila’s cameo in Fendi’s F/W 18 runway show earlier this year was a sign of bigger (and even more stylish) things to come for the cult brand. For the very first time, Fila just presented its own runway show in Milan, and there were plenty of amazing activewear and fashion-forward looks to ogle at. However, we immediately zeroed in on one element in particular: Fila’s iconic Disruptor sneakers, which were transformed into knit boots in varying colors and patterns.

The OG Disruptors, of course, have long been a celebrity favorite. Emily Ratajkowski, for one, Instagrammed herself wearing the sneakers with cutoff shorts and a crop top to her 19 million followers. The sneakers even nabbed the number two spot on Lyst’s roundup of “the hottest women’s products” from the second quarter of 2018—beat only by Gucci’s logo belt. With that kind of cachet behind a pair of shoes, we wouldn’t be surprised if the cool boot versions also took off. There’s one major 2018 trend that seems to be absent in Paris right now, though, and that is sneakers—more specifically, dad sneakers. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just walked the red carpet for the first time together as a couple, but it wasn’t your average step-and-repeat. The duo joined none other than Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco for a royal double date on the glamorous red carpet at the Monte Carlo Gala. How’s that for an epic red carpet debut?

For the black-tie occasion, Perry wore Tom Ford’s ruched jersey evening dress with embroidered sleeves. Does the beautiful gown look familiar? We know this about Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to Tom Cruise’s career-making ’80s megahit—it’s not the most secretive production.

Movie sets are often locked down tight. Actors and crew have to sign non-disclosure agreements. That may be true with Maverick, but photos are making it out and onto social media anyway.

Some pics are obviously sanctioned, like an Instagram slideshow posted to Luke Scott’s account. As Scott is a screenwriter, Ridley Scott’s son and late Top Gun director Tony Scott’s nephew, seems like he’s not too worried about letting fans of the movie (and of Tom Cruise, for that matter) get a little peek behind the scenes. 

Scott’s photos are the best too, featuring Cruise in full Maverick mode with jets old and new, apparently stoked to head back into the danger zone. 

Some Twitter users have managed to grab their own snaps as well. Not quite as close up and personal, but still interesting and perhaps telling—looks like the production is fully underway and Tom Cruise is in character.

Top Gun: Maverick brings back Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell as well as Val Kilmer’s Iceman. Maverick is still flying, but he’s in a very different world. 

The plot of Maverick is still a secret, but it involves drones and the son of Goose—Maverick’s doomed partner from the first movie—and men in green flight suits. 

In the meantime, we’ll keep looking for more leaks.
