Serena Williams and Meghan Markle are Twinning
Meghan Markle Just Wore J. Crew Ankle Boots With Skinny Jeans
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially landed Down Under for their two-week tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, and Fiji. Not only does this mark their first international tour, but it’s also Meghan Markle’s debut event since Kensington Palace confirmed that she and Prince Harry are expecting their first child together. We already learned that the new baby will be arriving in spring 2019, and we can’t wait to uncover more details about the mini royal.
In the meantime, we’ll be reveling in all of Markle’s sure-to-be-amazing looks on her tour, including the J.Crew ankle boots she wore on Tuesday with a blazer designed by her friend Serena Williams. On Monday, she wore Australian designer Karen Gee’s Blessed Dress ($1285), so we’re expecting Markle will include plenty more Aussie brands in her repertoire this month. She then changed into a green Brandon Maxwell dress, which complemented her butterfly earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. Scroll down to see every single outfit from her royal tour.
Yes, You Can Wear Overalls in the Fall and Winter—Here’s How
You may think of overalls as more of a summer garment—blame the months you spent as a kid wearing them while school was out—but they actually hold their own in the colder months, too. Follow the lead of the fashion set to learn how to wear overalls in the fall and winter, and you won’t have to pack them away with your sandals and gingham dresses.
If you have a denim pair, swap out your linen crop top for a lightweight hoodie or a knit turtleneck. Pile on the outerwear—whether it’s a leather jacket or a faux-fur coat—and make cropped hems seasonally appropriate with cute hosiery or ankle-hugging sock boots. It’s also the ideal time to break out overalls in heavier fabrics like leather or velvet, which can be dressed up with silk blouses or fancy knits.
With a little thoughtful layering, dungarees can be a year-round staple. Below, see 10 ways to wear them right now, plus shop pairs for every style.
I’m 5’10” and I’m Living for These 13 Non-Boring Flats
From the Anna Wintour approved–boot trend to Kate Middleton’s favorite fall shoes, it can seem like some of the best shoes out there require a commitment to 4-inches-and-up heights. But that’s far from the case, which is a particular relief for taller girls like me who can’t be bothered to wear anything other than flats.
For instance, Italian brand Luisa Beccaria designed fanciful flats in collaboration with Gia Couture that are as pretty as any heels on the market. Meanwhile, Aquazzura created a fresh take on the cap-toe trend, while Bally expertly translated the Middleton-approved velvet shoe trend into wearable flats that are worthy of any holiday party on the horizon. The next time you’re tempted to suffer through a day of blisters and heel pain, keep this list handy (your feet will thank you). Scroll down to shop my favorite flats right now.
