Besides fashion, one of my other passions is home décor. I take pride in my apartment and what I’ve been able to do with it, design-wise. However, I’ve lived in the same place for three years and I still feel like it’s not complete. But is a home ever a finished product? I like to think not, as I’m a big proponent of collecting things you love over time, as opposed to buying everything at once and ending up regretting purchases you made simply because you needed to fill a room. 

To that end, I’m always on the lookout for knick-knacks for my home. H&M and Urban Outfitters are two of my favorite places to look, as they blend reasonable prices with stylish designs. Scroll down to shop my favorite new home décor pieces. 

Next, Anna Wintour only packed one shoe trend for all of fashion month. 

Only a few seasons ago sky-high platforms heels seemed to dominate every conversation, with Valentino and Versace defining the trend with their massive towering heels. But fashion is fickle and tastes are everchanging—this year we’ve shifted to (almost) the opposite end of the spectrum. 2023 is shaping up to be the year of the kitten heel. Make no mistake stilettos—from boots to revenge pumps ala Saint Laurent—are still getting plenty of play, but it just might be time to revisit easy-on-the-feet heels.

Much of this shift is due in part to the increasing popularity of vintage. Cult items of yesteryear like Marc Jacob’s Stam bag and Gucci’s Horsebit heels are coming back into the fold, and with it a slew of Gen-Z fans eager to get a piece of fashion history. However sourcing these early aughts icons is sometimes easier said than done, and an array of brands have stepped in to meet the demand. Muled sandals are popping up everywhere, from the high street to the runway. Part of its appeal may lie in its versatility and ease: there are no straps to fuss with, no laces to tie, simply slip them on and go. It also helps that its a shoe that really styles well with any outfit. If you too are ready to jump on the train, below I’ve assembled 20+ pairs to get you started.

Prepare to see more of Kate Bosworth because she’s currently on a very stylish press tour for her new movie, Last Sentinel. (Heads up to Emily in Paris fans: Lucien Laviscount also co-stars in the film.) Photographed in New York City today, Bosworth toned down the formality of a blazer and trousers by pairing the work staples with a casual tank top and sneakers. The result is a perfectly balanced look that’s equal parts chill and polished. 

Her trousers, in particular, caught my attention because Nordstrom shoppers seem to be obsessed with them. Bosworth’s Favorite Daughter The Favorite Pants ($218) have hundreds of great reviews with customers raving about the impeccable fit. I love that the pants have just enough bagginess to be trendy but not overwhelming. For the first time since Knob Creek introduced its inaugural straight rye whiskey in 2012, the Clermont, Kentucky distillery is including an age statement on its 100-proof rye.

Knob Creek, which is produced at the Jim Beam distillery, touts that all of its bottles are made in the “pre-prohibition style” upheld by legendary Master Distiller Booker Noe, Beam’s grandson. (Maxim recently featured top-shelf “Booker’s Batch” bourbons, crafted by Booker’s son Fred Noe. )

Knob Creek occupies a more affordable segment in Jim Beam’s small-batch portfolio, but the brand is now guaranteeing seven years of age for every bottle of of its straight rye whiskey, which should translate to an even more consistent sip.

According to the company, the whiskey smacks of “sweet caramel and vanilla mixed with deep round rye spice” in addition to “apple and floral notes with a hint of leather.” Tasting notes describe a “full body with balanced black pepper, sweet vanilla, and caramel finished with lingering oak and rich spice” before a warm, smooth and spicy finish.

Knob Creek’s straight rye news comes shortly after the release of its oldest whiskey ever—Knob Creek 18 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon—which was released in celebration of the brand’s 30th anniversary in 2022. Prices for the rare expression have since skyrocketed, surging from the $169.99 retail price to $400 and up on the whiskey aftermarket.

Knob Creek 7 Year Old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is much more readily available nationwide at an SRP of just $36.99 per bottle.

Only a select few watches can stand up to the rigors of what Navy SEALs deal with on the daily–in fact, you might say there’s only one watch brand up to that tall task, and that’s Luminox.

The Swiss watchmaker’s DNA shifts and responds to extreme conditions, and the new Luminox Master Carbon SEAL Automatic is but the latest timepiece to rise to the occasion.

It’s a highly appealing prospect: A watch that can withstand almost anything, with the real-world experience to prove it. It wears impossibly light yet remarkably tough on the wrist, as we found out during an exclusive early review of the rugged timepiece, and it’s available now to Maxim readers before it launches to the public on April 3rd.

The Luminox Master Carbon SEAL Automatic carries on the company’s hard-wearing lineage in impressive fashion, further deepening the Luminox partnership with the Navy SEALs (and with extreme adventurers like Bear Grylls).

You might even call the watch a downright steal at $1,195, considering the durability and rugged appeal of its go-anywhere design.

The key here is the proprietary CARBONOX case, which boasts subtle texture under the right light and is nicely complemented by a vivid green Luminox logo strap.

For good measure, two variations of the Master Carbon SEAL Automatic are available, one with an army green dial ring (and matching strap) or a gunmetal-grey dial ring variation with corresponding strap.

Its performance-ready nature is further bolstered by design touches like Luminox Light Technology, which the brand says guarantees watch visibility in any light conditions for up to 25 years.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about the Luminox Master Carbon SEAL Automatic is the fact that it wears lighter and feels more subtle on the wrist than its 45mm case diameter would indicate.

As Luminox fittingly says, it’s a watch “built for dependability to withstand the test of time.”

660 feet of water resistance speak to that dependability, while the Swiss automatic SELLITA SW 200-1 movement boasts a power reserve of 38 hours.

When a brand is trusted by the Navy SEALs (for three decades, no less), consider it a watch worth having on your wrist–before the general public gets its hands on one, no less.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the actress, model and perennial Maxim Hot 100 favorite, is heating up the latest trailer for Prime Video’s action-packed spy series, Citadel.

Citadel is executive produced by Avengers: Endgame directors The Russo Brothers and showrunner David Weil, and stars Jonas and Richard Madden, along with Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville. 

Here’s Prime Video’s official plot synopsis: 

Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency – tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people – was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives.

They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order.

Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.

A new flagship Raging Bull has officially seized the throne previously occupied by the Aventador for over a decade. The Lamborghini Revuelto is a hybrid—not the marque’s first, as Lamborghini has previously installed electric motors on Aventador-based special editions like 2019’s Sian and 2021’s revived Countach.

But the Revuelto is definitely Lamborghini’s best hybrid, at least barring any catastrophic developments not evident on paper. Despite its potentially divisive electrification, the design fits naturally within Lamborghini lineage.

Like the Aventador before it, the Revuelto is named after a fighting bull, but “revuelto” also translates to “mixed up,” a reference to its combo of electric- and combustion-based power.

It has the classic Lambo wedge shape and scissor doors first made famous by the ’70s/’80s-era Countach; the proportions and floating rear fender blade of the ‘90s-era Diablo; and the inclined front of the aughts-era Murcielago.

There are decidedly contemporary elements, such as Y-shaped headlights framed by aerodynamic blades that link the splitter to the hood. Massive side fins channel airflow across the doors and into the side intakes. The ultra-sleek recessed profile channels other air to the rear wing while offering more headroom and legroom than in the Aventador.

The arrival of Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid fortunately doesn’t mark the abandonment of the marque’s famed V12 (though an all-electric Raging Bull is coming two short years).

The Revuelto showcases its 6.5-liter 12-pot with a see-through engine cover. Rightfully so, as it’s Lamborghini’s lightest and most powerful V12 to date, with a fearsome total output of 814 horsepower.

The remaining output comes from two motors mounted on the front axle and a third integrated into the new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, bringing the grand total to a truly absurd 1,001 horsepower.

That’s far too much power for daily driving, but there are levels to the Revuelto in the form of drive modes, as MotorTrend notes. The tamest by far is Citta, which utilizes just 180 pure electric horses for very short distances up to 6.2 miles.

Strada mode is designed for “normal” driving and long trips with 874 total hp on tap, and Sport mode takes it up to 895 hp while elevating the V12’s growl. Corsa mode unlocks all 1,001 hp.

Max performance is elite but not superlative. Zero to 60 mph takes 2.5 seconds, but the most impressive figure is the time to 124 mph: under seven seconds. The 217-mph-plus top speed is nothing to scoff at either, even if it isn’t an improvement over the Aventador’s.

The interior attempts to take the fighter jet-mimicking of past Lambo cockpits to what’s billed as a “spaceship” design with enclosed central air vents, the removal of turn-signal stocks in favor of steering wheel buttons, and the elimination of most other physical buttons.

The start button still sits underneath a red cover that must be flipped up like the controls to an aviator’s weapons system, but there are now three digital screens—a digital instrument panel, a central infotainment interface on top of the dash, and a small screen on the passenger side.

The driver and occupant can swipe applications to and from the infotainment and passenger screens with the same motion used to swipe on Tinder. Seats are clad in a combination of fine leathers and “Corsa-Tex” microfiber made of recycled polyester.

While the Lamborghini Revuelto has an unspecified price and remains untested independently, orders for the first two years of production are already filled.

The incomparably mysterious, exotic, jet-setting appeal of James Bond might seem far out of reach on the big screen, but it’s a bit more attainable– at least to a lucky few– with a new luxury travel experience from Black Tomato.

The trip, starting in London, takes a privileged few to a Bond-approved roster of breathtaking locations, including Solden, Austria–sight of 007’s first encounter with Madeleine Swan–to Lake Como, where Bond recuperates after a rather painful brush with Casino Royale nemesis Le Chiffre.

The catch? Only 60 of these limited-edition trips are up for grabs, almost as rare as the chance to buy James Bond’s timepiece or his favorite Danner boots.

And only this Bond experience comes with the chance to make a Vesper as part of a Martini Masterclass, or to trek around Venice and visit iconic Bond locales.

For good measure, each purchase comes complete with a limited-edition Globe-Trotter case in an homage to Dr. No.

It follows on the heels of a momentous run for all things 007 as of late, from a limited-edition James Bond Scotch to a 60th anniversary Blackwell 007 Rum.

Each destination includes exclusive, premium accommodations, including a stay at The Corinthia Hotel in London and Monte Carlo’s Hotel Metropole.

A stop in France even includes the rare chance to visit the home of 007’s champagne of choice, the Champagne Bollinger Chateau and Estate.

“The narratives of so many Bond films are enhanced by the distinct feel of iconic destinations, so recreating these stories for a first-person travel experience has been a true delight and honor,” said Tom Marchant, Black Tomato’s co-founder.

While not all can live like James Bond around the clock, there’s a slight chance this sort of experience could offer a window in that world, however brief. Sounds like a gamble 007 would make himself.
