50 Best Christmas Gifts for Her She Won’t Return

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

We get it: Shopping for the best gifts for your wife, girlfriend, best friend, or sister is stressful if she hasn’t shared any hints or dropped links in your DMs. (Or perhaps you’ve been told, “I already have everything I need!” Don’t buy it.) Even if her love language isn’t gift-giving, spending a little bit of time picking out the best Christmas gifts for her goes a long way in showing just how much you care.

It’s absolutely easier to buy golf gifts, gifts for new dads, gifts for outdoorsmen, gifts for gym lovers, and even gifts for men (after all, you know what you want). The items are hyper-specific with a small margin of error. For the true last-minute procrastinator, there are even clutch Amazon gifts for men and Amazon gifts for women that take the pressure off shopping. But when it comes to gifts for her (even the best gifts for Mom), you might feel lost.

If you’re looking for unique Christmas gift ideas for her that won’t have her requesting the gift receipt, we’re sharing a range of options. Whether she loves fashion and jewelry or cares about her wellness and beauty routine above all else, we’re armed and ready with a wide array of gift ideas. Here are the best Christmas gifts for her—tested and approved!

Best Christmas Gifts for Her (2024)

Depending on how long you’ve been together, the best Christmas gifts for her can span a pretty extensive price range. Maybe you want something affordable and sweet for the early stages of dating. Perhaps you’re thinking a grand gesture of love several years in. Regardless of where your relationship is at, we’ve got great Christmas gift ideas for her that run the gamut from fine jewelry and wine to fitness and beauty tech we’ve individually put to the test.

Cuyana Small Zipper Pouch

Courtesy Image

Cuyana’s Small Zipper Pouch strikes a Goldilocks sweet spot. At 7″ x 9.8″ x 2″, it’s small enough that she can toss it into a larger bag to keep loose essentials organized, but roomy enough to use as a clutch for special events and nights out. It’s well-made with a sturdy zipper and complements practically any outfit. It’s always in my tote bag when I go to the office and work from cafes—storing AirPods, a Tide to Go pen, lip balm, wallet, and more. When I want to ditch the shoulder bag, I tuck this under my arm and use the slit pockets to store my credit cards and travel light. It’s made in Turkey and crafted from embossed Italian leather that’s LWG-certified—meaning Cuyana upholds transparency and accountability within its leather supply chain to produce products that are tanned responsibly. This pouch will become her everyday carry.

Parachute Waffle Robe

A robe is the best Christmas gift for her if she loves a good at-home self-care day or hotel robe moment. Parachute’s Waffle Robe, which feels more like a luxurious towel, is a great option if she doesn’t necessarily want anything overly fluffy, hot, or restricting. Loomed from 100 percent Turkish cotton, it’s lightweight, soft, and feels like something you’d find in a high-end spa. It’s also unisex, so there’s a chance you might even be able to share it!

Freda Salvador Elba Penny Loafer

Courtesy Image

I’ve never been more impressed by a pair of shoes than when I slipped on the Freda Salvador Elba Penny Loafer. Yes, I needed two wears to break in high-contact points, but that’s negligible in the grand scheme of things. I now wear them five days a week to the office—with socks or without—and can traipse around New York City without worrying about pinching or blisters. They’re fashioned from Italian leather (including the soles) and have a flared heel. I love the Black Embossed Croc, but you can’t go wrong with the offerings, from suede to high-shine spazzolato leather.

Fewer Finer Two Pockets Ring

Courtesy Image

If she loves supporting female-owned brands, Fewer Finer needs to be on your radar of best birthday gifts for her. Madison Snider, owner, founder, and designer, creates nearly all the pieces in the brand’s capsule collection, vintage selection, and custom bridal designs in New York City. I love that all imbue a sense of casual luxury and are incredibly wearable, not just for big occasions. In the case of the Two Pockets Ring, you can opt for 14k yellow or white gold. It’s a dual-sided piece—one face has a baguette diamond and the other has a small round diamond—with a unique story derived from a proverb that reads: Everyone should have two pockets, and in each one carry a note. When feeling discouraged or disconsolate, one should reach into the right pocket, and, there, find the words: “I am the rock on which this world stands. Everything revolves around what I choose to be.” But when feeling high and mighty one should reach into the left pocket, and find the words: “I am nothing but a grain of sand. Everything in the world is greater than me.” She can turn the ring to whichever side she fancies that day.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX Over-Ear Headphones

If you both work remotely and constantly struggle to concentrate during competing Zoom calls, treat her to the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX. Not all over-ear headphones are designed equally—not even close—but Bang & Olufsen’s designs are like the Rolls Royces of noise-canceling headphones. If you like to geek out on audio specs, Beoplay HX boast custom 40mm drivers that have neodymium magnets, which produce greater sensitivity, power, and nuanced sound output. She can select adaptive active noise cancellation or transparency mode if she wants ambient noise to filter through—like if she’s in the office and needs to hear if someone’s trying to speak to her—and toggle through Optimal, Commute, Clear, Workout, and Podcast sound modes in the app. She can even create her own by adjusting low and high bass and treble for a sound experience that’s brighter, warmer, more relaxed, and/or more energetic. Ears are cocooned by lambskin leather-covered memory foam cushions, while a pressure-relieving headband offers five different adjustment positions. She can keep these suckers on through an entire work day or long-haul flight; the battery lends up to 35 hours of play. For the best Christmas gift for her that are practically foolproof, look no further.

Dyson Airstrait Straightener

Looking for the best Christmas gift for a woman who loves a high-tech beauty tool? Dyson (yes, the folks behind the best vacuum cleaners) entered the hair game with a hair dryer and styling tool that I’ve used weekly for the past five years. The brand’s innovation is the Airstrait Straightener and it can take hair from wet to dry with less heat and half the damage of other straighteners. That’s thanks to manganese copper alloy plates that automatically regulate temperature 100 times per second. The cherry on top: It’s cord-free and fully recharges in just 70 minutes. TheraFace PRO

Courtesy Image

If she loves a good at-home skincare device or is seemingly always trying a new treatment at her dermatologist’s office, she’ll surely be impressed with TheraFace PRO from Therabody. The brand started making massage guns for recovery after exercise but has now branched out to skincare. The same percussive massage helps relax facial muscles and reduce tension. With the included cleansing ring, the percussive massage helps remove dirt and dead skin from pores.

But here’s where things get even better: The device includes a microcurrent ring she can swap out to improve muscle tone and firm and tighten skin (think of it as a workout for the face). There are also LED light rings that can be popped on, including red light to help reduce wrinkles and blue light for treating blemishes. So yes, it might be a bit pricey, but considering all the benefits packed into one single device, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Nette Safari Candle

Courtesy Image

If your girlfriend’s candle obsession is as intense as mine, she’ll always love adding another to the collection—especially one as luxurious as this. Nette’s hand-poured candles are made from natural coconut soy wax without parabens, sulfates, or dyes. And, of course, they smell incredible.

The Nette Safari Candle is a smoky scent with key notes of suede, leather, moss, and violet. It’s pretty intoxicating, evoking the smell of a sexy, high-end boutique hotel. It’s perfect for a cozy evening curled up on the couch with your S.O.

The two-wick candle has an impressive burn time of up to 65 hours. When you’ve burned through it, the handmade ceramic vessel can be turned into a mug or other container; it’s food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe. Who doesn’t love Christmas gifts for her that are multi-purpose?

Garmin Forerunner 965

I’ve exclusively worn iterations of the Garmin Forerunner to train for triathlons. It’s the premiere multi-sport watch if you’re drumming up gift ideas for her that are more practical. The latest addition to the family, the Garmin Forerunner 965, isn’t just an excellent pick for triathletes; it’s excellent for any endurance endeavor, especially running. The bigger, brighter OLED display gets more information on-screen and makes it much easier to see and read maps and other detailed screens in low light. The watch also records wrist-based running dynamics including ground-contact time and vertical oscillation without the need of an external sensor.

As someone who typically hates mornings, swapping my iPhone for the Hatch Restore 2 sunrise alarm clock and sound machine has been a game changer. LAKE DreamKnit Kimono Pajama Set in Dusty Blue Stripe

Pajamas might seem like an unoriginal Christmas gift for her, but when they’re as luxurious as these, you don’t have to worry about how they’ll be received. ‘Where Should We Begin?—A Game of Stories’ (Second Edition) by Esther Perel

Courtesy Image

With so much of our free time going to streaming TV shows and mindlessly scrolling, it’s nice to be able to sit down with a partner and truly connect. That’s the aim of the card game “Where Should We Begin?” from Esther Perel, world-renowned psychotherapist and New York Times best-selling author. The 200 story cards and 6 sided-die guide you to “share the stories you rarely tell,” which can help you get to know your partner on a deeper level, regardless of how long you’ve been together. That’s why it’s one of the best Christmas gifts for her.

The newly released second edition of the game includes fresh questions and prompts, inspired by playing the first edition with thousands of people around the world since 2021. (One of Perel’s personal favorites: “If cities were people, who would be your lover, your boyfriend/girlfriend, and your lifelong partner?”) The box is also travel-friendly so you can bring it with you on a romantic getaway.

AARYAH Deepa Ring

Courtesy Image

Upon meeting with Megan Kothari, founder of AARYAH, it was abundantly clear this brand is a welcome disrupter in the space. Offering bespoke jewelry, engagement rings, and fine jewelry, AARYAH offers pieces you won’t find anywhere else. The brand has an in-house diamond wholesale team with the ability to source rare, exceptionally cut diamonds that aren’t widely available on the market. Those diamonds are ethically sourced, embracing the United Nations’ strict Kimberley Process that prevents “conflict diamonds.” Kothari and her team use recycled and certified fine metals for consciously made and intentionally designed pieces. If you want antique diamonds, stones with unconventional cuts, and distinctive bands and settings, come here (read: go online or to the NYC flagship store in the diamond district). The brand’s Deepa Ring—a Sanskrit name meaning “light”—is especially eye-catching. A 2.02-carat oval yellow diamond rests within a bezel setting fashioned with a rounded comfort fit 18k yellow gold band. Other favorites include Noir Tennis Necklace and Moora Triangle Diamond Studs.

Walmart Is Selling a $1,600 Foldable E-Bike for $450 on Cyber Monday, and Shoppers Say the ‘Power Level Is Insane’

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Cyber Monday deals are already starting to roll in at Walmart on big-ticket items like home gyms, portable generators, and even MacBooks, but the retailer also has some of the most substantial discounts on electric bikes during the holiday shopping craze. Walmart has slashed prices on a ton of fat fire e-bikes, mountain bikes, and even electric scooters to some of the lowest marks we’ve seen this year, but none of them come close to the $1,000-plus markdown on this foldable e-bike—and there’s even free shipping.

The Gocio Foldable E-Bike is still on sale at Walmart for just $450—a remarkable 72% off the normal $1,600 price tag. This e-bike is currently one of the retailer’s bestselling models, but that’s no surprise—it’s garnered nearly 400 five-star ratings from shoppers who say it’s an “excellent bike for beginners” and that the “power level is insane.” It’s available in three great colors—black with red or orange and then white with red—but we’ve seen select colors sell out before.

Get It

This folding e-bike is equipped with a 500W brushless motor, dual shock absorbers, and thick tires that allow you to ride anywhere comfortably, including on trails. It features five riding modes, including pedal assist and throttle, and a full charge will get you up to 50 miles of range when using the former. It has multiple safety features built-in, like front and rear lights and dual disc brakes, and offers the convenience of an LCD screen and adjustable saddle and handlebar heights. But the most convenient feature is that it’s completely foldable thanks to a hinge in the crossbar, making it super convenient to put in a trunk.

Those who have used this foldable e-bike say it’s tougher than it looks online. “Unmatched capability and performance,” a shopper said. “This 500W electric mountain bike is an absolute beast. The 26-inch tires provide excellent traction, and the dual suspension absorbs bumps and shocks for a smooth ride. The 21-speed gears allow me to find the perfect cadence for every situation.”

Many shoppers also loved how easy it is to fold. “Super practical,” a shopper noted. “This foldable mountain bike is one of the most practical electric bikes I’ve ever used. The motor is powerful, the battery lasts long, and it folds easily enough to fit in the trunk of a car.” Another shopper agreed, saying, “Folds up quickly and easily and does not take up much space.”

If you’ve been looking for a great e-bike at an unbeatable price, deals don’t get much sweeter than the one on the Gocio Foldable E-Bike at Walmart for Cyber Monday. But make sure to grab this one soon because it’s a popular gift item and could sell out.

Fat Cells Remember Being Fat, New Yo-Yo Diet Study Explains

If you’ve gained back fat after losing weight, you aren’t alone. And, as it turns out, yo-yo dieting might not be the direct cause of the sudden fluctuation in fat distribution.

A new study published by scientists at ETH Zurich explains that fat cells “store memories of obesity in their cell nucleus,” according to a statement from the Swiss university. As a result, the cells retain these memories even after you lose weight, making you more susceptible to future weight gain.

It all has to do, they say, with the epigenetics of fat cells. “Epigenetics tells a cell what kind of cell it is and what it should do,” researcher Laura Hinte said in a statement. To reach their conclusion, they analyzed fat cells from overweight mice and those that lost weight through dieting. What they found was that obesity leads to epigenetic changes in the nucleus of fat cells as the mice who lost weight regained it more quickly when they were reintroduced to a high-fat diet.

“The fat cells remember the overweight state and can return to this state more easily,” study leader Ferdinand von Meyenn explained. “That means we’ve found a molecular basis for the yo-yo effect.”

Related: Study Finds the Key to Weight Loss With Intermittent Fasting

Science hasn’t advanced enough for us to change epigenetic marks in cells with drugs, so it isn’t possible just yet to wipe the so-called memory of your fat cells. “Maybe that’s something we’ll be able to do in the future,” Hinte mused. “But for the time being, we have to live with this memory effect.”

It’s a groundbreaking find, and it raises more questions about cell behavior throughout the entire body. The team, for example, doesn’t believe that this “memory” is limited to just fat cells. “Other body cells might also play a part in the yo-yo effect,” von Meyenn said.

For now, the best strategy to avoid altering your cells in this way is to avoid getting up there at all.

“It’s precisely because of this memory effect that it’s so important to avoid being overweight in the first place,” von Meyenn concluded. “That’s the simplest way to combat the yo-yo phenomenon.”

Purported Amelia Earhart Crash Site Turns Out to Be Something Else

The search for Amelia Earhart‘s missing airplane continues nearly a century after her death.

Back in January, South Carolina-based imaging company Deep Sea Vision shared an exciting update that its technology might have found the wreckage of Earhart’s Lockheed Model 10 Electra plane. But after more investigation, it turns out it was nothing more than a rock formation coincidentally shaped like a plane.

“Talk about the cruelest formation ever created by nature,” Deep Sea Vision CEO Tony Romeo lamented to CNN. “It’s almost like somebody did set those rocks out in this nice little pattern of her plane just to mess with somebody out there looking for her.”

Earhart’s plane is believed to have gone down near Howland Island, a remote spit of land in the Pacific Ocean roughly halfway between Hawaii and Australia, in July 1937. A monument on the uninhabited island commemorates the area as the final resting place of Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan.

Deep Sea Vision expressed their disappointment in an Instagram post showing what the team believed was the plane wreck. “After 11 months the waiting has finally ended and unfortunately our target was not Amelia’s Electra 10E (just a natural rock formation),” the company wrote. “As we speak DSV continues to search, now clearing almost 7,700 square miles. The plot thickens with still no evidence of her disappearance ever found.”

It was a sad setback, to be sure, but the company isn’t giving up yet. In fact, they’ve already started searching some new areas for any evidence of Earhart’s presence.

“I hope this inspires other people to maybe go look for her or at least learn about her and her story,” Romeo said. “I want to see the plane found. She’s out there. She didn’t just disappear into thin air.”

Thankfully, Deep Sea Vision is able to laugh about their discovery that ended up being nothing. Shortly after declaring the latest find to be a dud, the company shared that it was heading to American Samoa for a sea floor mineral project; while unrelated to the Earhart search, they began selling T-shirts poking fun at the failure with an image of the plane-shaped rock formation and the promise “We find rocks.”

The Best Nail Clippers for Men Are Shockingly Important for Your Nail and Skin Health

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Nail clippers are certainly a standard grooming tool for all non-barbarian men, yet they don’t get nearly the same careful attention as, say, the selection of moisturizing creams, face washes, or clippers for your hair.

Which is a shame. Because the exact nail clippers you use, and how you use them, matter for your basic nail and skin health. While cheap, generic clippers picked up at any drugstore work in a pinch, the wrong clippers, or the right ones used in the wrong way, can wreak all kinds of havoc over time: hangnails, ingrown nails, the spread of fungus, and other nasty surprises.

We talked to grooming experts, including an esthetician and a manicurist, to select the best nail clippers for any man or budget. A great nail clipper is sharp, easy to grip, and perhaps most importantly, extremely affordable and available. (And yes, the nails on your fingers and the nails on your toes deserve separate clippers.) Which is what makes our top picks, Tweezerman Precision Grip Fingernail Clipper and Toenail Clipper, stand out. And no matter how thick and cumbersome your nails may have become, or how exposed they’ve been to fungus (which often makes nails thicker and unruly), we have the tool for you.

The Best Toe and Finger Nail Clippers for Men

Best Overall Fingernail Clipper: Tweezerman Precision Grip Fingernail Clipper

Tweezerman Precision Grip Fingernail Clipper

The nail clipper brand most widely recommended by pros is Tweezerman, which thankfully, also happens to be highly accessible. It’s been Ray’s go-to since she graduated cosmetic school in the ‘90s. She mentions its products to all the men she sees because “I know they can find them anywhere and I also know that they’re high-quality, they work well,” she says.

Tweezerman Precision Grip Fingernail Clipper is a standalone fingernail clipper whose stainless steel blades are sharp, easy to clean, and stand up to years of use. They also follow the natural shape of the nail, and the textured grip helps you avoid slips (and any injuries that come with them).

Best Overall Toenail Clipper: Tweezerman Precision Grip Toenail Clipper

Tweezerman Precision Grip Toenail Clipper

As explained above, a standalone toenail clipper is crucial. Like the brand’s fingernail clipper counterpart, Tweezerman Precision Grip Toenail Clipper is sharp enough to confidently cut through all but the thickest of nails (for that special purpose, see our upgrade pick below), and the textured grip aids careful snips. The blades run straight, with no angle, so you avoid the formation of ingrown nails.

Best Combo Nail Clipper Set: Tweezerman Stainless Steel Nail Combo Set with Fingernail and Toenail Clippers

Willing to unleash only the tiniest budget for your nail clipping purposes? No sweat. Tweezerman offers a barebones but still sturdy Stainless Steel Nail Combo Set with Fingernail and Toenail Clippers for your hands and feet. At this price, there’s no excuse for gross nails.

Best 2-in-1 Finger and Toe Nail Clipper Set: Zwilling Beauty Twinox Nail Clippers

Zwilling Beauty Twinox Nail Clippers

Okay, so yes, it’s generally a good idea to have separate toenail clippers and fingernail clippers. But leave it up to Zwilling J.A. Henckels—the storied German knife producer behind some of the finest kitchen blades—to create a superbly engineered clipper that can handle both your hands and feet. Zwilling Beauty Twinox Nail Clippers have a passionate audience thanks to their covetable aesthetics, and have won both a Japanese Good Design Award and an iF Product Design Award. But it’s not just about looks; the craftsmanship adds up to a clipper that is noticeably sharp and precise without being too aggressive on your more delicate fingernails. Brushed stainless steel provides lasting stability, and a slide-locking mechanism that hides the lever in the body of the case when not in use results in an incredibly slim profile.

Best Upgraded Nail Clippers: Seki Edge Craftsman 2-Piece Luxury Grooming Kit

Seki Edge Craftsman 2-Piece Luxury Grooming Kit

Fighting through intensely thick, gnarly nails you’ve maybe left untended for far too long? Or do you simply want to add a luxe feel to your DIY nail clipping process? Here’s your solution: Seki Edge, an industry favorite from Japan, provides significantly more powerful cutting ability than competitors—think of it as a chef’s knife for slicing through the hard crusts of your nails. Seki Edge Craftsman 2-Piece Luxury Grooming Kit comes with a handsome little leather zip case for both clippers to remind you just how important your clipping regimen is.

How to Shop for (and Safely Use) Nail Clippers

When choosing a pair of clippers, first off, you want sharp blades that can easily cut through the nail with precision to avoid any mistaken nips. The blades should last, ideally over several years without dulling, so you don’t have to regularly replace them the way you do other grooming products.

Just as critical is an ergonomic, no-slip (or as close to no-slip as possible) design. A thin piece of stainless steel for the grip won’t cut it, in some cases quite literally; you need to feel safe and secure in your handling of any clippers. Thicker and textured grips offer crucial assistance here.

And curves in the blades, while they may look sleek, are your enemy. You want a straight edge, according to Natasha Ray, owner of Noir Men’s Grooming Lounge in Beverly Hills, CA. Or at most a very light curve contoured to the natural nail shape. Sharp angles are an invitation to getting ingrown nails, where the nail grows into your skin. These are not only unsightly but also painful and can even lead to infection. “That will send you to the podiatrist,” Ray says.

Similarly, don’t go crazy with salon-style techniques if you’re not a professional. “I don’t really like my clients cutting their cuticles,” Ray adds, which can open you up to infections, or if you go too far, break the skin and draw blood. (If you’re going to mess with your cuticles at all, you should only be pushing them back with a cuticle pusher.)

Finally, good nail clippers are affordable enough that every man should own two clippers, one dedicated to your hands and the other to your feet. While you’d be wise to clean your clippers after each use with alcohol or peroxide, Ray doesn’t expect every man to do that. Keeping the blades separate can, at least, prevent the spread of fungus from one area to another.

Why You Should Trust Me

I’ve been writing and editing coverage of men’s style and grooming for over a decade, whether rhapsodizing about how I learned to love my bushy eyebrows (and why you should, too) or explaining manicures and pedicures for skeptical men. I’ve tried out numerous clippers, including those supposedly meant for both your finger and toe nails, and can attest that a two-set along with material and design truly matter.

To assemble this list of the best nail clippers, I consulted men’s grooming experts, including an esthetician and a manicurist, asking what works for them and their clients. I also researched the many (too many!) options out there, pored through customer reviews, and tested multiple options on my own nails to reach judgments.

I’ve Tried Hundreds of Expensive Whiskeys, but I Always Reach for This Affordable Bourbon

I’ve spent almost two decades tasting and writing about alcohol. When it comes to spirits, I’ve likely sampled bourbon more than any other form of alcohol, with single malt Scotch whisky being a close second.

So, saying that I’ve enjoyed hundreds—if not thousands—of bourbons over the years is a pretty accurate statement. In that time, I’ve tried some ridiculously expensive, knock-your-socks-off rare expressions. It’s simply part of the job.

But I’ve also spent a long time imbibing inexpensive but high-quality whiskey. I’m talking about $20 bottles as opposed to bottles selling on the secondary market for thousands of dollars. And when I tell you that there’s a bargain-priced expression from one of the most well-known bourbon brands of all time that you need to stock on your home bar immediately, you can believe me or not. That’s up to you.

That said, few names in the bourbon world are more prominent than Jim Beam. This iconic brand has been crafting award-winning, noteworthy whiskeys since it released its first whiskey in 1795. Fred Noe and his son Freddie are the eighth and ninth generation master distillers at Jim Beam, which makes it a historic family brand.

You can’t go wrong with one of Jim Beam’s classics, like Jim Beam White Label, Jim Beam Double Oak, Jim Beam Single Barrel, or one of the company’s other brands like Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, or Old Grand-Dad. But the expression I always stock on my home bar is Jim Beam Black.

When it was first introduced in 1978, this expression was referred to as “Double Aged.” The moniker referred to the fact that this expression matured twice as long as the classic Jim Beam White Label, which is aged for four years. The new expression matured for eight years.

Jim Beam Black was recently upgraded. Now, it’s better than ever.

Courtesy Image

The current iteration, which was recently relaunched, is matured for seven years in heavily charred new American oak barrels. It was made with a mash bill of 77 percent corn, 13 percent rye, and 10 percent malted barley. It’s known for its complex, nuanced flavor profile with magnified aromas and flavors compared to the classic expression.

The result is a memorable mellow whiskey that begins with a nose of raisins, toasted vanilla beans, butterscotch, charred wood, and gentle spices. Sipping it reveals a mix of sticky toffee, cinnamon, candied orange peels, dark chocolate, cracked black pepper, toasted vanilla beans, dried fruits, and oaky wood. The finish warms and lingers, melding notes of candied nuts, vanilla, and wintry spices.

The best part? This complex, 7-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon is incredibly inexpensive. In a world of overpriced whiskey, the suggested retail price for Jim Beam Black is only $25. When it comes to price-to-value ratio, this is one of the best bargains in the bourbon world. This alone makes it a must-have whiskey for your home bar cart or liquor cabinet.

But, regardless of the price, I’d never refer to this as a “cheap” whiskey. That diminishes and undermines the quality of this release. It’s a highly versatile expression for half the price of comparable expressions. It’s the kind of bottle you’ll buy one time and then never want to be without.

You’ll have a tough time finding a better value sipper for the price. You’ll have no problem drinking it neat or on the rocks. It’s also an excellent base for your favorite whiskey cocktails. Its rich, memorable flavor palate won’t get lost in the shuffle in any cocktail. Try it in an old fashioned, whiskey sour, Manhattan, Sazerac, and beyond. You’ll be pleased you did.

Worried About Holiday Overeating? New Study Finds You’re Not Alone

For individuals on a weight loss journey or attempting to stay healthy, the holiday season can feel a bit like a danger zone for unavoidably falling off your diet. From endless casseroles filled with tons of calories to the coveted pumpkin pie we all know and love, there are plenty of opportunities to increase your calorie (and sugar) consumption. In fact, nearly two-in-five (39%) Americans worry about how much they’re going to eat over the holidays, according to a new national survey from Orlando Health

“Holidays come around once a year, and indulging in a few traditional foods and favorite recipes that may have a little extra sugar or fat is not going to affect your health or derail your healthy habits,” said Sara Riehm, RD, LD/N, CSOWM, a specialty registered dietitian at the Orlando Health Center for Health Improvement. “In fact, I see a lot more anxiety about weight gain than actual weight gain from my patients around the holidays.”

While overindulging and binging all of your favorite desserts for weeks on end during the holiday season may cause you to put on a few extra pounds, Riehm wants to remind people that you don’t have to go to extremes to enjoy a few holiday treats.

Related: These Are the Best and Worst Times to Travel for Thanksgiving

For example, 25% of survey respondents stated they think they should skip meals before a big holiday gathering in order to save calories, something Riehm states can actually lead to binging more calories. Instead of skipping breakfast the morning of Thanksgiving, for example, have a well-balanced breakfast high in protein and healthy fats. This could look like a Greek yogurt bowl topped with granola and fruit or a few over-easy eggs with a side of avocado and turkey bacon.

“It’s a lot easier to make healthier decisions when we’re not hungry. Having a light meal that includes satiating nutrients like protein and fiber before a party will help you feel fuller and make mindful choices about what you’re eating,” Riehm said. “When you fill your plate, go ahead and have a helping of that special food you’ve been looking forward to, but also balance it with nutritious options like a vegetable or fruit salad.”

Flight Attendant’s Simple Hack for Better Mid-Air Restroom Experience

Rich Henderson, an experienced flight attendant who runs the travel blog Two Guys on a Plane along with his husband, Andrew, shared with USA Today a simple travel hack that that will make your airplane bathroom experience much better.

Few, if any, travelers would number using an airplane lavatory amongst their favorite travel moments. But Henderson is determined to make it as pleasant an experience as possible, which is why he’s sounding the alarm for better bathroom etiquette at 30,000 feet.

Rich says the number one way to make airplane bathroom use more convenient for both passengers and crew is to wait in your seat rather than queue up in the narrow aisle. “That lining up makes it worse because everyone thinks there’s always going to be a line,” he explained. “I promise there will be a lull in the bathroom traffic. (Flight attendants) have to go as well. There’s usually a gap in there that we can jump in, so there should be one for passengers as well.”

Both Rich and Andrew agreed that if passengers simply waited patiently in their seats, it would cut down on mass bathroom rushes and therefore distribute the flow of lavatory traffic more evenly throughout the journey. Though lines of people in the aisle are annoying for all and can affect food and drink service, there are more serious reasons why restroom queues aren’t advisable.

“Post-9/11 there’s a lot of rules with people congregating on an airplane,” Andrew pointed out. Rich added: “For flight attendants, everything comes back to safety. It’s still not the safest to have tons of people up and about. Anything can happen in the blink of an eye on an airplane. I don’t think people realize it’s not quite safe to just be wandering around an airplane.”

Regardless of how you handle your next mid-air trip to the lavatory, both Rich and Andrew have a non-negotiable message for travelers: For the love of God, leave your shoes when you visit the restroom.

Thanksgiving 2024 and the best Black Friday deals

Sharing a recap of Thanksgiving and sharing my favorite Black Friday deals!

Hi friends! How are you? I hope that my US friends had a happy, healthy, beautiful Thanksgiving filled with amazing food and lovely memories. Our was a great one this year.

I started off the morning with an F45 strength class,

and then we all went over to madre’s for coffee and pastries. We hung out with the fam for a little while, got to see baby Daisy, and then we came home to get ready for the usual Thanksgiving lunch/dinner at my uncle’s.

Our contributions to the feast:

Ina’s bourbon chocolate pecan pie

and maple roasted Brussels sprouts.

The food was ridiculous as usual, and we had a great time seeing everyone, especially our newest baby cousins that we born last year. There are four new babies in the family!

Annual Thanksgiving pic:

(outfit is linked here)

After we ate, the boys all took the kids out on the golf course with them for a round of golf, while the rest of us stayed back, drank coffee, and chatted. After we finished, we were pretty tired and full, so we went back home for Christmas movies and pajamas.

One of my favorite late-night Thanksgiving traditions used to be midnight shopping with my mom and nana. Now that everything is online, it takes away a liiittle bit of the nostalgia, but it is pretty convenient to order everything you need from home, eating a slice of pie in your pajamas. 😉

I wanted to share some of the best Black Friday sales that I’ve found! I was able to scour some of the sales in advance, and included my favorite finds below.
