The Fila Sneakers Every Celeb Loves Got a Crazy-Cool Update for 2019
Fila’s cameo in Fendi’s F/W 18 runway show earlier this year was a sign of bigger (and even more stylish) things to come for the cult brand. For the very first time, Fila just presented its own runway show in Milan, and there were plenty of amazing activewear and fashion-forward looks to ogle at. However, we immediately zeroed in on one element in particular: Fila’s iconic Disruptor sneakers, which were transformed into knit boots in varying colors and patterns.
The OG Disruptors, of course, have long been a celebrity favorite. Emily Ratajkowski, for one, Instagrammed herself wearing the sneakers with cutoff shorts and a crop top to her 19 million followers. The sneakers even nabbed the number two spot on Lyst’s roundup of “the hottest women’s products” from the second quarter of 2018—beat only by Gucci’s logo belt. With that kind of cachet behind a pair of shoes, we wouldn’t be surprised if the cool boot versions also took off. Scroll down to see them on the runway and shop Fila’s see-now, buy-now items at Saks while we wait for the boots to become available.
Apparently No One Packed This Shoe Trend for Paris
If you follow even one fashion person on social media, you know that it’s the height of Paris Fashion Week. From editors to influencers, models to photographers, everyone in the industry is flocking to the city to attend the S/S 19 shows. To get updated on the latest happenings at PFW, we’ve put together a handy 15-second guide. As for the street style looks, well, rest assured that we’re covering every ounce of outfit inspiration, from Le Marais to Tuileries Palace and back again.
There’s one major 2018 trend that seems to be absent in Paris right now, though, and that is sneakers—more specifically, dad sneakers. Given that most of the Paris Fashion Week attendees have been traveling to Milan, London, and New York in one fell swoop, we’re a little surprised that the shoe trend hasn’t made much of a splash this time around. That’s not to say that sneakers are “out,” seeing as they were all over the place just days prior in Milan.
Rather, showgoers opted for sleeker shoe trends, like leather boots and pointed-toe pumps. To get a look at the shoe trends that are making waves in Paris at the moment, keep reading below.
Now you’re up to speed on what everyone’s wearing in Paris.
