Fleetwood Mac Reunion Hopes Grow After Rocker’s Surprise Comment

A Fleetwood Mac reunion would be surprising due to tensions between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, as well as Nicks’ previous comments about the band’s future.

Her past dislike of Buckingham is well-known.

However, a comment made by Lindsey Buckingham to his landscape lighter has resurrected talk and hopes after going viral.

On May 12, 2025, California landscape lighter Michael Gambino shared a photo showing him with Buckingham.

“Lindsey Buckingham, Lead singer/Guitar player extraordinaire (solo and Fleetwood Mac) longtime client of Gambino Landscape Lighting (2 homes). Stopped by our job today and we spoke for about 1/2 hour,” he wrote. “He’s got a new album coming out in the spring of next year along with a documentary about Fleetwood Mac. I asked if there was a possibility that they would ever perform together again and he said that all depends upon Stevie (who is also a client of ours).”

However, after the post went viral and ended up in news stories, Gambino wrote several clarifications. On May 20, Gambino shared a story on the post by the San Francisco Chronicle and wrote on Facebook, “I wondered why I was getting contacted for further comment. Sorry, but no comment.”

Furthermore, Nicks has repeatedly doused water on the idea of a reunion since the death of band member Christine McVie in 2022.

“Without Christine no can do,” she told MOJO in 2024. “There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”

On May 22, Gambino added, “This post has been taken entirely out of context. However, if it results in a reunion of the band, then so be it. Just don’t forget who brought it about. A southern California LANDSCAPE LIGHTER, not landscaper.”

That same day, in another post, he wrote, “This has gotten a bit out of hand. And I’m not a landscaper. I’m a landscape lighter.”

He added, “Lindsey didn’t hint at a reunion at all. In fact, he is quite happy with his life and career and was very gracious to stop from his walk and speak to me for the amount of time that he did. We were not working at his house at the time; he was just out getting some exercise.”

Friends filled up his comment thread on the original post. “Love it! Legends in music history…very nice!” wrote one.

In March 2025, The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood were “back in the studio for the first time since Buckingham was kicked out of Fleetwood Mac nearly a decade ago.” They were working on an upcoming solo album by Fleetwood, according to The Chronicle.

However, the newspaper described the chances of a full reunion of the iconic band as “unlikely” because both Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood said the band “is effectively over” after McVie died.

Part of the reason: Nicks’ conflictual relationship with Buckingham.

“You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances,” she told Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone, in the 2024 interview, reported that Nicks “doubled down” on her belief that the band could not continue without McVie.

According to The Chronicle, Nicks and Buckingham once dated.

“Even if I thought I could work with Lindsey again, he’s had some health problems,” Nicks told MOJO, referring to his 2019 open heart surgery. “It’s not for me to say, but I’m not sure if Lindsey could do the kind of touring that Fleetwood Mac does, where you go out for a year and half. It’s so demanding.”
