The four-time national champion UConn Huskies posted their fifth consecutive dominant victory in the men’s NCAA tournament on Saturday night in the Final Four.
Continuing their rampage through the men’s NCAA tournament, the Huskies earned the school’s first trip to the national championship game since 2014 by crushing Miami 72–59 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
UConn, which took a 37–24 lead into halftime, dominated the Hurricanes on both ends of the court. Dan Hurley’s squad shot 49.1% from the field (28-of-57).
Huskies forward Adama Sanogo was sensational again, scoring 21 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. The powerful force in the paint is the early favorite for the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player honors, as he’s averaging 20.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
The Huskies also dominated Miami on the defensive end, holding the Hurricanes to a paltry 32.8% shooting from the field.
UConn, the most dominant team in the tournament by a wide margin, has now beaten all five opponents by an eye-popping 22.5 points per contest.
The Huskies will put their perfect 4–0 record in national championship games on the line on Monday night vs. San Diego State. The Aztecs advanced to their first-ever title game earlier in the night after beating Florida Atlantic 72–71 on a buzzer beater.
