The Ohio State Buckeyes extended its lead over the Maryland Terrapins after Brice Sensabaugh found Felix Okpara on a an alley-oop dunk.

Maryland Terrapins’ Jahmir Young split the defense and delivered an effortless one-handed jam against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

No. 19 Xaviers Musketeers’ Souley Boum went beast mode and scored 29 points against No. 20 Providence Friars in a win.

Jack Nunge denied a shot at the rim in Xavier’s 94-89 road victory over Providence.

The senior guard wrote a long message on Twitter thanking the school for his three seasons there.

Iowa State guard Caleb Grill was dismissed from the Cyclones program by coach T.J. Otzelberger on Wednesday.

“We hold our players to high standards and there are expectations that our student-athletes are held accountable for,” Otzelberger said in a statement.

Grill subsequently posted a long message on Twitter, thanking Otzelberger and Iowa State for his three seasons with the team. He also provided some insight into what led to his dismissal, although he didn’t provide specific details.

“Unfortunately, I said something that I regret which has cost me the opportunity to finish out my dream at Iowa State,” Grill wrote in part. “I hope that all the players and Iowa State fans can find it in their hearts to forgive me.”

Grill’s message took up eight slides of text. In it, he expresses his desire to always be remembered as a Cyclone, as he’s grateful for his experience on the team. He also revealed in the post that he battled mental health issues all season.

The senior guard appeared in 25 of the Cyclones’ 29 games this season, starting 22 times. He finishes the season averaging 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

The Golden State guard has been sidelined by a lower leg injury since Feb. 4.

With the Warriors locked in a tight Western Conference playoff race, much-needed relief may be on the way.

Golden State guard Stephen Curry could return from his lower left leg injury as soon as next week, according to Warriors general manager Bob Myers.

Myers expressed as such on KGMZ-FM in San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon, tacitly confirming a Wednesday afternoon report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that pinpointed next week as a potential Curry return timeframe.

“I mean, that’s the hope,” Myers said. “I think the reason why we can’t give you more definitive information is it is kind of predicated on how he feels, can he get up to the workload. He’s just started some live stuff, two-on-two, three-on-three stuff where he’s getting out there and trying to feel contact again, get comfortable.”

Curry suffered the injury during Golden State’s 119-113 win over the Mavericks on Feb. 4. The NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers is averaging 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 38 games this season.

The Warriors play the Lakers, Thunder and Grizzlies on their forthcoming road trip. Entering Wednesday’s games, Golden State (32-30) sits in fifth place in the Western Conference, one game behind the fourth-place Suns.

Dallas’s coaches had some disagreements about the team’s offense.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is set to take over play-calling duties in 2023 following the departure of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. 

With Moore joining the Chargers in the same role, McCarthy reflected on their tenure working in tandem in Dallas, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. 

Speaking at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis on Wednesday, the 59-year-old coach admitted he and his offensive coordinator didn’t always see eye to eye and had some significant philosophical differences about what they wanted the Cowboys offense to achieve.

While Moore preferred to “light up the scoreboard,” McCarthy said he’d prefer to run the ball, in order to enable his defense to stay well rested. 

“I don’t desire to be the No. 1 offense in the league,” McCarthy explained. “I want to be the No. 1 team in the league with a number of wins and a championship. And if we gotta give up some production and take care of the ball better to get that, then that’s what we’ll do, because we have a really good defense.”

Last season, the Cowboys’ offense ranked fourth in points and 11th in yards among the NFL’s 32 teams. That was despite quarterback Dak Prescott missing five games after injuring his hand in the season opener. In 2021, Dallas ranked first in both categories.

Despite Moore helping to pilot one of the league’s best offenses, McCarthy seemingly prefers to roll with a different style offensively, one which will be on display in 2023 with the head coach calling the plays.
