Wait, I Think These J.Crew and Nordstrom Items Will Sell Out by the Holidays

To get shoppers prepped, some of those favorite retailers have already launched gifting departments, including J.Crew and Nordstrom. If you’re somebody that likes to start shopping for gifts or holiday-season outfits early, this may be the ideal time to fulfill those shopping needs.

Fashion People in Paris Wear This Elegant Shoe Trend With Basics

The Parisian aesthetic is often described as effortless with laid-back elegance. Given the appeal for many, we cover French fashion on the regular. Most recently, we shared the item many people in Paris wear to create their chic fall looks. Switching gears to footwear staples, there seems to be one sleek boot silhouette many of our favorite follows are wearing to complete their refined ensembles. Yes, we’re talking about knee-high boots.

The beauty of knee-high boots is that they add an instant touch of elegance to any outfit, which is probably a reason why fashion people in Paris turn to the style. In terms of styling, the boots are statement-making on their own, so elevated basics are often the clothing style of choice to pair with them. And that’s what we’re seeing amongst the French style set. Keep scrolling to see more of what we mean, featuring the outfits Parisians are wearing with knee-high boots.

Leggings look all the chicer with a pair of knee-high boots. Add a knit and oversize coat, and you’re good to go.

Teaming knee-high boots with a midi dress in a neutral hue is effortless. This fall, consider a knit iteration.

This ensemble is so elegant with the boots, miniskirt, and polished textured jacket.

Baggy jeans are currently the go-to for many, but skinny jeans are a classic choice—especially with knee-high boots.

You can’t deny the power of a simple LBD for an easy and chic vibe. Your favorite style will look fantastic with knee-high boots and a slouchy blazer.

A pleated skirt is an elevated staple that works perfectly with elegant knee-high boots.

I’m Going Neutral This Winter, But My Shopping List Is Anything But Boring

If Nordstrom is the first place you turn to when shopping for a new season, then you’ve come to the right place. (And if it isn’t the first place you usually go, allow me to convert you.) I’ve been on a major shopping kick lately—winter is around the corner, after all—so I decided to make a list of all the Nordstrom pieces I’m considering for these chillier times, and I couldn’t call myself a fashion editor if I didn’t share it with you.

Lately, the pieces that have been catching my eye are, to put it bluntly, colorless. I’m riding confidently into my “edgy-girl era,” and that means all-black outfits, silver jewelry, and generally tonal looks. But of course, there are a few colorful pieces on this list that I think are worth buying. (I mean, a winter with no color whatsoever isn’t one I want to participate in.) Keep scrolling to see my picks, and happy shopping!

A classic trouser will never fail you, and the warm mushroom tone of this popular pair is speaking to me.

This moto-inspired shearling number is the jacket equivalent of this season’s ballet-flat trend—it’s classic, versatile, and has a bit of edge when done right.

These flare jeans are the perfect neutral nod to the ’70s.

This versatile and transitional wool blazer will take me through the holidays and straight into the new year.

Denim midi skirts are having a major moment, and I’m not one to knock a trend before trying it.

I’m usually adverse to bold colors, but there’s something very special about this statement-making cardigan.

A knit maxi dress is essential for winter.

Who says fun and neutral have to be mutually exclusive? This sweater is both, and I’m all in.

I wouldn’t want to snuggle up in anything else this winter.

A chunky earring will elevate any casual outfit.

Claw clips aren’t going anywhere. I’m already imagining wearing this with a soft oversize turtleneck and those retro flare jeans above.

Yes, the slim belt is making a comeback. Obviously, I’m opting for black.

New Years Eve bag, anyone?

I love the asymmetrical detailing here.

Winter white, but make it ultra sleek.

I know I said I’m into silver jewelry, but a little gold never hurt anyone.

Now here’s a bag that will carry you through every season.

I’ll skip chunky lug-soles for a sleek riding boot any day.

It’s not winter 2022 without a pair of ballet flats, and this buttery leather pair fits the bill.

A cozy classic for a reason.

I’ll let you in on a secret: The editors at Who What Wear consider these a really good purchase.

Mark your calendars: Who What Wear’s Market Director Bobby Schuessler and stylist Kelly Augustine are going live to talk all things winter fashion on November 9th at 11:30 a.m. PST. See you then!

4 Low-Key Fall Outfits Fashion Editors Are Relying on This Season

You may think that living in L.A. means I wouldn’t really know how to dress for fall, but I’m here to explain why that’s not true. When it comes to fall outfits, I actually have quite an advantage: L.A.’s moderate weather gives me more time to curate the perfect seasonal wardrobe, source inspo, and even practice a little trial-and-error ahead of the cooler days.

So for the past few weeks, I’ve been doing exactly with the help of my co-worker, fashion editor Anneliese Dominguez. Not to brag, but I think we’ve got some pretty genius outfits to share. They’re all low-key, stylish, and perfect for everyday wear thanks to the cool pieces we found in AG’s new collection. You’ll find everything from denim to knits to vegan-leather outerwear in these four looks.

“When fall comes around, I usually reach for my never-ending collection of jeans, but this year is different,” Anneliese tells me. She’s got another denim style on her mind: midi skirts. A true L.A. girl, she styled this washed-grey skirt from AG with a ribbed tank and a lightweight, cropped denim jacket, but a wool or vegan-leather blazer and turtleneck will make an easy swap on cooler days. “This midi skirt maintains the casual element in my outfit but steps it up a notch, and the tall boots are a chic, fashion person–approved touch,” she says.

Speaking of fantastic outerwear options, Anneliese has found her go-to for rain or shine. “The quilted fabric feels very on-trend for the season, and the color is that perfect olive-green shade that you can pair with just about everything in your closet. Plus, it’s lightweight but surprisingly warm,” she explains. (Side note: This embroidered utility jacket is upcycled from vintage garments, so each one is unique.) As for her casual-cool styling, Anneliese decided to “let the jacket steal the show and keep the rest of the look simpler by adding an easy cropped tee, relaxed trousers, and chunky penny loafers.” No notes.

I reach for denim at least five days a week, so most of my favorite fall ‘fits involve a good pair of jeans. I’m really into intentionally baggy, loose-fitting jeans right now, and this Ezzra style from AG is so good I had to get it in two washes (more on that later). I styled this medium-blue pair with a denim vest worn as a top for a denim-on-denim look that makes a statement but still feels effortless. Expect to see me in these jeans often. I’ll be styling them with chunky sweaters, long-sleeve tees, and more soon.

I wasn’t lying when I said I loved these jeans so much I got multiple pairs. I took note of Anneliese’s denim skirt when choosing this distressed grey wash, and I’m so happy I did. Trust me: They’re just as easy to style as blue jeans. I wanted to stick to a neutral palette here, so a black turtleneck and accessories were the move. The star of this look is clearly this dreamy, grey, vegan-leather jacket. The fabric is buttery soft (as are all the pieces in AG’s vegan-leather collection, by the way), and thanks to the tie, it’s quite versatile. My other blazers don’t really stand a chance this fall, and I’m okay with that.
