You now have to pay to use Pantone colors in Adobe products
Last week, Adobe removed support for free Pantone colors across its Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator Creative Cloud applications. PSD files that contained Pantone spot colors now display unwanted black in their place, forcing creatives who need access to the industry-standard color books to pay for a plugin subscription (via Kotaku).
“As we had shared in June, Pantone decided to change its business model. Some of the Pantone Color Books that are pre-loaded in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign were phased-out from future software updates in August 2022,” said Erin Di Leva, Public Relations Manager for Adobe in a statement to The Verge. “To access the complete set of Pantone Color Books, Pantone now requires customers to…

Chicken Cock Whiskey Drops Prohibition-Style, Cognac Barrel-Aged Bourbon
The best bourbons on the market naturally carry the weight of history behind it, from how the liquid is made and aged to how it’s delivered, and the clever distillers at Chicken Cock Whiskey have managed to shake up the barnyard and your bar cart with its newest release.
The story of Chicken Cock Whiskey, after all, dates back to 1856 and is so named thanks to an original Bluegrass regional whiskey style.
Now, the new, nearly $500 Chanticleer Cognac Barrel Whiskey quite literally blends the past and the present in a way that’s sure to please bourbon enthusiasts.
It was a 2011 revival that jumpstarted the historic brand once again, and the latest release distills that history handsomely, right down to the limited-edition, Prohibition-style tin nodding to the way in which whiskey was smuggled across state lines decades ago.
Most famously, Chicken Cock was the house whiskey of The Cotton Club in Harlem, and the rest (you might say) is history.
Although a 1950s fire shuttered the company for decades, spirits entrepreneur Matti Anttila revived the brand in the early 2010s, a revival that lends itself nicely to popular expressions like its Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Rye.
The luxurious holiday release — developed in partnership with Bardstown Bourbon Company — hits the right notes in terms of aesthetics and of course, the liquid contained within.
The cognac-aging process nods to the company’s original home in Paris, Kentucky (named after Paris, France, naturally), as well as the historical roots of Bourbon County (derived from the French Bourbon family).
Chanticleer is delivered in a pleasing, historical apothecary-style bottle, displaying the handsome mahogany leather color of this whiskey, which bursts with notes of vanilla, cherry, softened plums and candied dates.

Savor notes of melted butter and hot caramelized sugar on the finish, and enjoy this warming whiskey on a cold winter’s night this holiday season (preferably in the company of fellow whiskey fans).
Available for nearly $500 at both Chicken Cock and Caskers, think of this luxe bourbon like the ultimate early holiday gift for the history — or better yet, yourself.

Sony’s new PlayStation Plus subscriptions are off to a rocky start
The number of people subscribing to Sony’s PlayStation Plus fell from 47.3 million to 45.4 million this quarter, the company announced in its latest earnings release. It’s the subscription service’s third quarterly decline in a row, and comes despite Sony launching a revamped subscription lineup between May and June this year including new tiers that offer inclusive access to hundreds of games to download and stream.
Sony has now sold 25 million PlayStation 5 consoles in total as of this quarter, VGC notes. It sold 3.3 million PS5 consoles between July and September 30th, which is the same number it sold in the same quarter the previous year. It sold 62.5 million physical copies of games, a reduction of almost 20 percent compared to the…

Dad Grass Spreads Into CBD Gummy Space With 3 New Styles
Dad Grass—best known for its decidedly mellow CBD joints and retro-style packaging—is taking a bite out of the CBD edibles space with a new line of gummies.
The laid-back brand–which recently launched CBD-spiked Dog Bones to mellow out panicky pups– dropped three new categories of CBD gummies, available beginning November 1.
The line is anchored by the Classic CBD Formula gummy with a sugary, blackberry ginger flavor is meant for daily use for those who want help in reducing “stress, anxiety, pain and inflammation.”
There’s also a Good Time CBD/CBG Hybrid Formula that is slightly stronger because of the CBG infusion, which Dad Grass describes as “great for recovery from hangovers to jet lag” and comes in a sweetened hibiscus lime flavor.
And finally, the brand dropped a “midnight berry”-flavored Nighttime CBN Formula that’s meant to be taken before bed to go to sleep faster.
All three Dad Grass gummies are formulated from the same 100 percent Organic hemp flower that Dad Grass uses in their “all natural” joints, which are high in the helpful cannabinoids CBD, CBG and CBN.
Earlier this year, Dad Grass released a special edition CBD/CBG “All Things Must Grass” pre-rolled joint pack, celebrating the 50th anniversary of George Harrison’s classic album, All Things Must Pass.

Bella Hadid Has Major Influence—7 Trends She’s Made Famous This Year
There’s no denying Bella Hadid’s influence on fashion, especially in 2022. Not only did she walk 10 shows in Paris Fashion Week alone (Balenciaga, Victoria Beckham, and Miu Miu to name a few), but anything she wears is also quick to make it to the masses. The internet has even coined the term “Bella Bots” to describe those who follow Hadid’s every sartorial move. The model revealed earlier this year that she had made the decision to go sans stylist, and it seems to have worked in her favor ever since.
Her outfits always have a touch of nostalgia, ranging from early-aughts vintage to classic ’90s-inspired pieces. She’s also not one to walk away from taking a risk, often picking the trends the majority might find polarizing like long denim jorts or ultra-cropped tops. You never know what you’re going to expect from Hadid’s next outfit, and it’s a surprise we always look forward to.
Hadid has had plenty of viral moments in 2022 like the spray-paint moment at Coperni or her humorous The Office–obsessed character in Ramy season 2, but it’s the standout trends she’s been wearing this year that have really grasped our attention. Below, you’ll find seven trends she’s inspired us to give a try. And in no way did Bella Hadid invent the trends below, but her looks certainly had an impact on those who keep up with her style. Keep scrolling to be inspired and get ready to say “So… my… name… my name is Bella Hadid.”

The Under-$13 Lip Plumpers I Always Recommend to Friends Who Don’t Want Filler
I freaking love lip filler. There, I said it! I first dipped my toe into the injection pool a few years ago and have maintained a firm footing in said pool ever since. Even though the topic of filler and injectables (or, at least, if people are getting them) remains a tad taboo, I’ve always been a staunch believer in transparency, and while some people might not feel comfortable admitting to what they have or haven’t gotten done, I’m here to say that my lips are juiced up and I plan on keeping them that way until further notice, thank you very much!
That said, filler isn’t for everyone, and I know plenty of people who simply aren’t interested or can’t afford the treatment and/or upkeep. (It’s a steep investment, after all!) Luckily for us, the makeup industry has really been kicking it up a notch in the innovation department the past few years and some of the most effective lip plumpers boast drugstore-level price tags. Not everyone is looking for plumper lips, but if you’re someone who is craving an extra injection of volume sans filler, you’ve come to the right place. Below, I’m sharing five of the absolute best lip plumpers that A) can be found at the drugstore or B) boast drugstore-affordable price points. Plus, because I feel so passionately about the subject, I’ve gone ahead and added the products that will further enhance your pout, and I even tacked on a few of my favorite, albeit more splurge-y, lip plumpers at the end of the article. Keep scrolling!

This Unexpected Note Is Found in 11 of the Most Romantic Perfumes
What’s the most romantic note in a perfume? If I were to answer that question, your mind might immediately go to the classics, like rose, jasmine, or vanilla. There’s a perfume note steeped in romance that you might not immediately think of, though, and that’s violet.
In perfume, violets lend a soft femininity to practically any scent. These flowers are sweet, floral, and have a slightly powdery quality. Violet leaf is also often used in fragrance to add a burst of green brightness. This floral is endlessly versatile, working with just about every scent combination. ’90s Minimalism Has Peaked, But If You Can’t Afford The Row, Try These 9 Brands
I think we all remember the iconic photo of Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss sitting on New York City streets wearing nothing but understated slip dresses. This is one of the photos that will forever define the model-off-duty style rhetoric of the ’90s. The supermodels proved that all you need is the basics and good style to put together a paparazzi-worthy outfit and the rest of the world followed suit.
Decades later, if you take a look around at what fashion insiders are wearing lately, you might notice a minor shift. Many people I know who used to always love bright colors and statement-making pieces have taken a new approach to turning heads. Sometimes less is more, and in 2023, that will certainly be the case so a minor dose of ’90s minimalism will serve everyone well.
Most of us know The Row as the destination to get this look. In fact, its recent sample sale drew the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen in New York City, and that’s saying a lot. If you’re like me and would prefer to skip The Row price tag, allow me to introduce you to nine brands that will help you get pieces that hold nearly the same quality and power. Enjoy.
Although Reformation is known for its floral, cottagecore dresses, the brand’s fall collection immediately made me think of ’90s supermodel apparel. Plus, with sustainability at the forefront of the label, you’ll feel good about buying into these pieces.
Of all the high-street brands, Mango has always delivered the most European vibe you can imagine, which, of course, requires a slew of minimalist pieces. The quality is superior to other affordable brands, in my experience, so I tell everyone to invest in its pieces.
The Frankie Shop is an absolute favorite brand that all fashion girls have in their closets. I finally made my first few purchases from the brand this past year and have loved everything.
If you like minimalism, you’ve already heard about COS, but if you’re new to the brand, allow me to explain: Every time a friend of mine asks me for advice on where to shop, I have to mention this store. It has everything you need to build a fabulous wardrobe.
Australia does it again. Sir has thought beyond the minimalism aesthetic to consider making a minimal environmental impact—and look good while doing it. While its pieces are perfect for a ’90s minimalist wardrobe, they’re anything but basic, and therefore, I’m obsessed.
Totême is similar to The Row in that the woman who shops there is absolutely obsessed and always owns way more than one piece from the brand. Every design it creates pairs well with the others, making it the perfect brand to create a capsule wardrobe with.
If you love French girl style, please allow me to introduce you to Sézane. Based in Pairs, of course, it tailors directly to the French-girl aesthetic, so you’ll be sure to find minimalist pieces there.
Multiple people have told me lately that Christopher Esber is their favorite brand, and honestly, same. You’ll find pieces from this designer that are unlike anything you’ve ever seen and that still feel minimal and effortless. Since the brand is always thinking outside of the box, I can’t wait to see its next move.
You might be surprised to see Zara in this lineup, but here we are. The retailer has provided multiple new collections and collaborations lately and minimalism has clearly been top of mind. Most notably, it’s created a collaboration with Narcisco Rodriguez, a designer who is known for dressing the best supermodels in the ’90s. Keep an eye out for affordable and chic pieces.
