Waymo to start charging money for its robotaxi rides in San Francisco

Waymo, the autonomous vehicle unit of Alphabet, got the green light to start charging for rides in its autonomous taxis in San Francisco. The California Public Utilities Commission awarded the company a permit that allows them to charge for rides as long as there’s a human safety driver behind the wheel.

California requires that AV companies obtain a series of permits in order to start earning money from their autonomous vehicles. The state’s Department of Motor Vehicles oversees test permits, while the CPUC determines when those companies can start commercial businesses. The permit obtained by Waymo is one of the last steps required before the company can launch a fully fleshed-out robotaxi business. The company will need to obtain a…

I Would Give Up Half the Boots on My Rack If I Could Have These Instead

When I made the move to NYC, I knew that I’d run out of space in my tiny apartment, but I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. I would love to detail all of the ways that my shopping problem has turned my apartment into a small showroom, but for the sake of time, I’ll spare you. In short, my shoe rack is nearly invisible under everything from snow boots to cowboy boots, leaving no room for any of my fresh finds. But now that I’ve discovered Free People’s new selection of boots, I’m willing to give it all up for these styles. Yes, this is a big deal. And yes, these are some serious must-haves. Between tall, short, statement, and classic, there’s a style to match every vibe. If you need some assistance narrowing down your top picks, I’ve also included some clothing items below to help you make your choice. You’re welcome.

State of the Union: How to watch Biden’s first address online

President Biden Announces Nomination Of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson To Serve As Associate Justice Of Supreme Court

President Joe Biden is scheduled to deliver his first State of the Union address at the US Capitol on Tuesday, March 1st, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues to escalate.

This will be Biden’s first State of the Union address, as he had not been in office long enough to officially deliver the address last year. Funimation’s anime library is moving over to Crunchyroll

Screenshot: Crunchyroll via YouTube

Crunchyroll is inheriting a slew of titles from Funimation in a move that’s supposed to unify the two biggest anime streaming services under one subscription. This also consolidates Funimation’s French-language subsidiary, Wakanim, and the Crunchyroll-owned streaming service, VRV, into the sole Crunchyroll platform.

The consolidation of Crunchyroll doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Last August, Sony — which also owns Funimation — completed its acquisition of Crunchyroll for $1.175 billion and announced plans to unify both services under a single subscription.

An FAQ page notes that Crunchyroll subscribers will now have access to simulcast content that was previously only available on Funimation and Wakanim, as well as 80 percent of…

Just days after Disney quietly confirmed that all of Netflix’s Marvel shows are set to migrate over to Disney Plus for Canadian audiences this March, we now know when all six of the series will make a similar jump to Disney’s own streaming service in the US as well.

Packers are preparing to make Aaron Rodgers the NFL’s highest-paid player I UNDISPUTED

A decision to stay or go might be coming soon from Aaron Rodgers, and the Green Bay Packers are preparing accordingly with a short-term deal for the two-time defending NFL MVP. According to NFL Network, quote: ‘Nothing is done, but they are having discussions. They are having negotiations to have a deal, hopefully for them, ready to go if and when Aaron Rodgers firmly and finally decides that he wants to return.’ Greg Jennings explains why this will likely be enough to keep Rodgers in Green Bay.
