Gwyneth Paltrow Just Wore a Completely See-Through Dress on the Red Carpet

It didn’t take long for the first naked dress of 2020 to make an appearance, and it happened on the red carpet nonetheless. Ringing in the first award show of the decade with a bang, Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out wearing a floor-length, completely sheer Fendi gown on the Golden Globes red carpet. Adorned with intricate detailing and all the dripping diamonds to match, Gwyneth proved she is not holding back this year, sartorially at least.

Although some might view this dress style as a tad risqué, the high neck, long sleeves, and ombré skirt make the dress both classy and daring at the same time. The exposed lingerie underneath is also a major trend for spring 2020. So yes, we’re impressed, Gwyneth. If this look is any indication of what else we can expect for the rest of 2020’s red carpet ensembles, then we are in for an exciting ride.

Seahawks Advance to Divisional Round After Knocking Off Carson Wentz-less Eagles

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks did what they needed to in order to advance to the NFC Divisional Round.

Earlier this season, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that whenever Seattle has Russell Wilson on the field, the team has a chance to win, “no matter what’s going on.”

And as it turned out in Seattle’s 17-9 Wild-Card weekend win over the Eagles on Sunday, Wilson was the game’s only starting quarterback that gave his team a legitimate chance to prevail. Philadelphia starter Carson Wentz entered the contest looking to star in his postseason debut, but after suffering a head injury with just 6:59 to go in the first quarter, the former No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL draft was knocked out of the game entirely.

In Wentz’s absence, 40-year-old backup Josh McCown took almost every snap for the Eagles, becoming the oldest QB ever to make a postseason debut. McCown completed 18 of his 24 pass attempts for 174 yards, but failed to get his team into the end zone.

Instead, it was Wilson and the Seattle offense that was able to muster up enough production against Philadelphia’s defense. Wilson finished with 325 passing yards and one touchdown on 18 of 30 attempts, adding 45 yards on the ground.

While Sunday’s win was far from his best postseason performance, Wilson’s unit did just enough and watched the team’s defense stifle an under-manned Eagles offense.

“I think more than anything else we believe,” Wilson told NBC’s Michelle Tafoya after the game. “There’s no doubt in us. We believe. We have everything that we want. Everything that we need.”

The Seahawks led 10-3 at halftime, snatching the lead after scoring a late touchdown on a five-yard run from the recently unretired Marshawn Lynch.  Coming out of the locker room, Philadelphia was able to chip away, nailing a 26-yard field goal. But the Seahawks quickly answered behind a 53-yard bomb from Wilson to rookie receiver D.K. Metcalf—the only touchdown of the second half. Metcalf, a second round pick from Ole Miss, would set a playoff record for most receiving yards by a rookie, finishing with 160 yards on seven catches.

Philadelphia would add a third field goal with just under three minutes to go in the third quarter. And while its defense largely limited Wilson’s big-play ability, the Eagles attempted to summon some additional offense. Philadelphia’s 10-play, 64-yard drive midway through the fourth quarter resulted in a turnover-on-downs. And the team’s drive one series later, resulted in a similar result despite being in the red zone.

For Eagles fans, Sunday’s Wild-Card weekend loss to Seattle might always feature an asterisk, a question about what could have been had Wentz been on the field.

But no matter, Wilson and his Seahawks will march on. A date with Green Bay next weekend awaits.

The Jason Garrett Era in Dallas Has Come to an End

After nine-plus seasons, and an extremely extended divorce period, the Cowboys have finally announced that they are moving on from Garrett as head coach. Where does Jerry Jones go from here?

The Cowboys have informed Jason Garrett that they will be moving on from him at head coach, not extending his contract which is set to expire in a few days. Garrett had a 85-67 record during his nine-plus seasons in Dallas, with a 2-3 postseason record.

Since the end of the Cowboys’ season on Dec. 30, rumors have been flying about whether or not Garrett will be back as the head coach. The team finally made it official during the Eagles-Seahawks wild-card game—the game in which the Cowboys would have been playing if they had won the NFC East.

Coming into 2019, expectations were as high as they’ve been in a decade in Dallas, and the pressure was ratcheted up by a number of players carrying expiring contracts into the summer—Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper and Garrett himself among them. The mandate was clear. The Joneses were hopeful their storied franchise would be back on a level it hasn’t reached in a quarter-century. And coming up short would mean change would come. Which it has. A mediocre NFC East kept hope for Garrett’s survival alive, but a bad Week 16 loss to a wounded Philadelphia team killed that hope.

Ultimately Garrett’s legacy will be one of how Jerry Jones’s great coaching experiment came up short—the owner let the then-backup quarterback into coaching meetings in the late 1990s to prepare him for his next career, hired him as offensive coordinator in 2007 before making him the interim head coach in ’10 and full-time in ’11.

More than anything, the next head coach needs to make this team better aligned and more resilient—things that really weren’t issues for Dallas until 2019. The Cowboys didn’t win a single game in which they trailed at the half, and they lacked identity on both sides of the ball. That cost Dallas in the win column, and ultimately Garrett his job.

When it comes to the Cowboys’ next head coach, Marvin Lewis and Mike McCarthy have already been interviewed. Also watch for the Joneses to look to the college ranks for Garrett’s replacement. The family has a relationship with, and a ton of respect for, Oklahoma coach/native Texan Lincoln Riley, and may make him say no to a job every kid who grows up with football in that state would covet. Baylor’s Matt Rhule and ex-Ohio State coach Urban Meyer would be other names on whom to keep close tabs.

The Beauty Looks That Completely Slayed the 2020 Golden Globes Red Carpet

Welcome to award season 2020. It’s time to wake from our winter slumber, and there’s no better way to do it than with the excitement of the first award show of the New Year, the 77th Golden Globes.

Not only does this glamorous evening mark the first gathering of the Hollywood elite to celebrate the phenomenal TV and movie offerings from the past year, but it’s also a fresh opportunity for the stars to set the tone for the red carpet season ahead (and collect their first round of statuettes, of course)—no pressure or anything.

It should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that our faves showed up and showed all the way out with their beauty looks for the affair. From stunning makeup to swoon-worthy hairstyles, everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Cynthia Erivo, Jennifer AnistonMargot Robbie, and so many more of the best actors in the game gave us all the beauty inspo we’ll need for a fierce 2020. Check out our favorite looks, ahead.

This metallic smoky eye is the perfect look to kick off red carpet season.

This pink-stained monochrome is a vibe.

That sleek middle part and bubblegum-pink lip are the perfect additions to an otherwise subdued look. Must-have beauty product: Tresemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hold Level 4: Extend Hair Spray ($5)

Fanning is giving us angel-on-earth vibes with her signature soft glam.

A bold red lip is always a good idea.

Soft waves and a bold lip capture Old Hollywood glam at its finest.

Yes, lashes! Yes, silver natural! Yes, smoldering stare!

Blue eyeliner will be a staple in our 2020 makeup repertoire.

Colman is giving us fresh skin and feathered brows—a winning combo in our book. We’re also living for her cropped haircut, which is so timeless and elegant. Must-have beauty product: Kevin.Murphy Rough.Rider Moldable Styling Clay (36)

Shimmering, silver shadow seems to be a trend tonight, and we’re so here for it.

Whoever said orangey-red lipstick was only appropriate during the summer clearly never saw this shade on Mbatha-Raw.

Beachy waves are clearly Robbie’s best friend, but that subtle lilac hue on her eyelid is something new. We’re into it! Must-have beauty product: T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand Set ($300)

This slick, deep side part is so simple yet so sophisticated.

Aniston is proof that you don’t have to do the most on the red carpet to totally shut it down.

It’s no secret that we love a bob, and this old-school waved look is a gorgeous style on such a short cut.

We’re loving the rock-and-roll vibe of Waller-Bridge’s cascading bouffant.

This undone updo is effortlessly chic. And don’t even get us started on that skin!

Offbeat red lips had a moment on the carpet too.

It looks like the guys got the silver eye shadow memo too. More men in makeup this award season, please!

Leave it to this Dame to remind the girls that a cranberry lip stain always adds a little something special. Must-have beauty product: L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Luminous Hydrating Lipstick + Nourishing Serum ($9)

She’s beauty, and she’s grace. That J.Lo glow was on level one million this evening.

This simple look is just angelic.

Yes to literally everything happening here, but especially the shimmery gunmetal hue swept across Washington’s lids.

It looks like Theron cropped the dark bowl cut she had earlier this year back to her signature blonde pixie cut. She really is a hair chameleon.

Kravitz also brought a pixie cut to the party. The more, the merrier.

It has to be said: That hair is absolutely snatched.

Paltrow was all about showing a little skin on the carpet, and the theme extended to her super-soft glam. She’s proof that a strip of lashes and an impeccable skincare routine can really take you places.

So here for the dull drama of Woodley’s eye makeup.

Oh, and Taylor Swift was there!

Our 2020 mantra: shiny hair, full brows, can’t lose.

Witherspoon showed us that a little bit of gel can take you from bob to boom, just like that.

Boynton went for it with this look, and she stuck the landing. She’s no stranger to pushing the envelope with her edgy eye makeup, and tonight was no different. Kudos to the actress for really going for it, even when everyone else is keeping it low-key.

Here we have another case for updated Old Hollywood glam, and we think it’s a great idea. Must-have beauty product: Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation ($47)

Another fresh face for the books. And that bold lip? Yes. Must-have beauty product: Tresemmé Smooth Dry Oil Spray ($5)

Vizio’s new soundbar rotates its speakers for better Dolby Atmos surround sound

Alongside a new lineup of TVs, Vizio is also announcing its latest soundbar systems at CES 2020. At the top of the heap is what the company calls the Elevate soundbar, a 10-channel, 5.1.4 sound system that features 18 drivers and a wireless subwoofer. But its neatest feature is that the left and right speakers on the soundbar rotate upward whenever you play Dolby Atmos content. For everything else (like music or standard surround sound), they point forward.

The Elevate measures 48 inches across and has an anodized aluminum design. And in a nice touch of integration, the Elevate can be seamlessly docked with the company’s just-announced OLED TV.

Compared to Vizio’s entry-level V-Series soundbar, it offers a 130 increase…
