Bronny James Scores Go-Ahead Bucket in Front of LeBron to Lead Sierra Canyon to Victory

Bronny James scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting and won game MVP against LeBron James’s alma mater St. Vincent-St. Mary.

Bronny James won game MVP after scoring Sierra Canyon’s go-ahead bucket in a victory over his dad’s alma mater St. Vincent-St. Mary High School on Saturday.

In the 59-56 win, 15-year-old Bronny solidified Sierra Canyon’s lead with less than a minute remaining after stealing an inbounds pass and hitting a layup. LeBron James, who watched Bronny in-person for the first time in a Sierra Canyon uniform on the Lakers’ off-night, celebrated accordingly.

Bronny finished 7-of-10 from the field and tallied 15 points on the night in one of his best performances of the season before 13,000 attendees. He helped lead his team past St. Vincent-St. Mary in front of the school’s “Fab Five,” which was the team’s nickname for its starting lineup during LeBron’s tenure.

Following the victory, Bronny celebrated the award with his dad.

Rich Paul, LeBron’s agent, was also in attendance.

The Sierra Canyon Trailblazers improved to 8-0 on the season.

Luka Doncic Suffers Right Ankle Sprain vs. Heat

Luka Doncic exited early in the first quarter after stepping on Kendrick Nunn’s foot and rolling his ankle.

NBA MVP candidate Luka Doncic was ruled out of the Mavericks’ game against the Heat on Saturday after he suffered a right ankle sprain early in the first quarter. X-rays on the injury came back negative.

Doncic exited the game after stepping on Kendrick Nunn’s foot on a drive to the basket and rolling his right ankle.

After remaining on the ground and holding his ankle, Doncic hopped to the locker room and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.

The reigning Rookie of the Year and SI Breakout of the Year winner has had a standout sophomore season, averaging 30.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.3 assists heading into Saturday. As he leads the league with eight triple-doubles this season, Doncic remains in the running for 2019-20 NBA MVP.

UFC 245: Colby Covington Faces Welterweight Champ Kamaru Usman in Main Event

Covington can prove he’s the top welterweight in the world by defeating champion Kamaru Usman.

Petr Yan-Urijah Faber – 10:34 p.m.

The opening fight was phenomenal.

Just 43 seconds into round three, Petr Yan defeated Urijah Faber. Yan battered and bruised Faber throughout the fight, but Faber refused to back down. He even picked up a nasty cut on his face from Yan’s face, but it was below the eye so the fight continued. The two talked trash to each other throughout the fight, and the sight of a bloody Faber taunting Yan lit up the crowd.

Yan’s left high kick ended the fight. He now has a nine-fight win streak, and this performance should earn him a title shot against Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo. But Cejudo first needs to defend, or vacate, the Flyweight title.
