Leggings are a wardrobe staple we’re not sure we could ever live without. Lounging or heading to a workout class, there’s really nothing else that comes close to them in terms of comfort and versatility—possibly until now. It’s not that they’re going anywhere, but there’s a new athleisure trend emerging that may jeopardize leggings’ long-standing reign: activewear bodysuits.
If the thought of wearing a bodysuit (and nothing layered over it) scares you, you’re not alone—it’s a rather divisive trend, to say the least. But sure enough, the celebrity crowd has already taken to wearing bodysuits in place of their leggings. We recently spotted Jennifer Lopez and Alessandra Ambrosio, two celebs who are seemingly always en route to the gym and clad in leggings, testing out the trend. They both opted for Beyond Yoga’s Elevation Capri Bodysuit ($148), a black capri-length one-piece with a halter tank-style top.
We’re well aware that the bodysuit trend is even more polarizing than leggings, but we also want to point out that it doesn’t have to be as scary to wear as you’d think. Just add a pair of sneakers or slide sandals and maybe a sweatshirt tied around your waist, and you have yourself a winning athleisure outfit. Shop the bodysuits that are coming for your legging collection below, and see how J.Lo and Alessandra Ambrosio are wearing them as of late.

I typically have my eye turned to the fashion moments happening on the street style scene, but recently I’ve been paying just as much attention to the beauty looks as I have been to all of the cool outfits. Yep, the makeup endorsed by stylish insiders captures my attention instantly, but so do the hairstyles they’re wearing. Just which fashionable hairstyles are worth repeating right now, but also long into the New Year? Ahead, I’m highlighting five that have the fashion girl stamp of approval. From the short haircut that’s suddenly everywhere to popular styling ideas to zero-effort (but still chic) looks, these are the coolest ways to wear. Go on to see 21 inspiring looks to try out yourself.
One of the biggest hairstyles to emerge among the fashion set in 2019? Double-brand braids positioned at the nape of the neck and secured with ponytail holders at the top and bottom. This hairstyle is set to gain even more traction in 2020.
If you are blessed with curls, right now is the time to embrace them. Fashion insiders are leaning into their natural hair textures, and it’s making me wish that I had any hint of wave in my own hair.
For anyone who would rather pull their hair back, go for a low-sweeping bun or ponytail. The most popular way to wear it? With a deep middle part and hair tucked behind the ears.
For an easy, everyday hairstyle, fashion insiders have been wearing their hair straight with a part down the middle. We’re seeing everything from flat-iron straight to more of an airdried straight finish with an undone texture.

Fires raging in San Francisco’s Bay Area and in the greater Los Angeles area have already forced hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate their homes or be stranded without power in preemptive blackouts aimed at stemming new blazes. But as residents check their social media feeds for emergency updates, they’re seeing something more — social media is swimming with promotions for solar power, back-up generators, and air purifiers.
The frenzy has almost become an expected side effect of fire season. “Here in California, in the wealthy tech-heavy region of the Bay, the fires offer a glimpse of an emerging form of disaster capitalism,” Alexis Madrigal wrote for The Atlantic in the midst of historic…
