Seiko Reissues Iconic ‘Predator’ Dive Watch

The 1980s are cooler today than they actually were. That’s okay because good movies like Predator came out of that decade. So did some great timepieces, including the watch worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s Dutch Schaefer in the movie, an ana-digi (analog and digital) Seiko H558-5009.

The original Seiko was so identified with Schwarzenegger—he wore one in Commando as well—it became known as the “Arnie.” It’s back as part of the Prospex line with a new set of style numbers: SNJ025-SNJ028, all the cool specs of the original model, and more.

You can watch a detailed breakdown of everything going on with this watch in the Long Island Watch video above, but here’s a thumbnail sketch:

  • The SNJ028 is the newest iteration and is solar-powered, so no battery changes.
  • A full charge lasts six months.
  • It’s a chunky 47.8mm and in a rose gold-accented matte black case
  • It has LumiBrite hands and markers along with the analog and digital displays.
  • There’s a power reserve indicator, alarm function, chronograph and since it is a diver’s watch, it’s water-resistant to a depth of 660ft (200 meters).

The video below features an intriguing review of the original, which was a quartz model and can go for $1,000 and up today when purchased from collectors’ sites like Chrono24.

At the moment, the $550 Seiko SNJ028 is sold out. However, the other, slightly less expensive models are still in stock (including a Pepsi variation) and you can pick them up via Seiko’s website for $525 apiece

Porsche Taycan Will Be World’s First Apple Music-Integrated Production Car

A pre-series version of the Porsche Taycan.

The forthcoming Porsche Taycan won’t just be the first ever all-electric offering from the performance German automaker. It’ll also be the world’s first production vehicle with Apple Music built-in.

Drivers with a subscription to the iTunes-killing service will be able to play over 50 million songs ad-free, thousands of curated playlists, and Beats 1 global livestream directly from the touchscreen display of the car’s cockpit—no smartphone needed.

All that’s required to do so is an internet plan, which comes complimentary for three years with purchase of the Taycan. And if you don’t renew the plan after it expires, there’s also support for Apple CarPlay.

For gearheads with a discerning ear, Porsche also offers an optional Burmester high-end surround sound system. When paired with Apple Digital Masters, jams will be delivered with studio-quality sound. Sounds like a reasonable sonic replacement for the rumble of an internal combustion engine.

It’s an exciting development for the anticipated EV. The Taycan is promised to deliver a zero-to-60 mph time that’s well under 3.5 seconds courtesy of a 90 kWh battery that produces around 600 horsepower.

The latest dispatch from Porsche promises that the electric powertrain will be able to deliver this acceleration consistently. A pre-series version of the Taycan ran 26 consecutive 124-mph hot laps at an airfield in Baden, Germany and showed little-to-no dip in performance over all attempts.

The Porsche Taycan will be presented in September before it hits dealership at the end of the year.

This Collection Gave Me 17 Reasons to Be Excited About Fall

I recently moved to New York after a seven-year stint in Los Angeles, which means 2019 is the first time in a long time that I’ve actually gotten the real fall experience (insert all the happy-face emojis here). And while I will 100% be that annoying person who refuses to shut up about the leaves changing colors, what I’m most looking forward to is having an excuse to upgrade my cold-weather wardrobe.

So what’s on my fall essentials list? Tons of denim, boots, and work-friendly closed-toe shoe styles, a goes-with-everything leather jacket, and plenty of pretty tops and dresses to fill in the blanks. After seeing how two of my most stylish co-workers styled their favorite PAIGE pieces last fall, I felt sure I could rely on the brand for everything on my list, and as it turns out, I wasn’t wrong… I actually found even more must-have items than expected—17, to be exact.

The most-worn pair of jeans in my closet is a light-wash raw-hem straight-leg style, but it’s officially time for an upgrade (I know because my tailor refuses to stitch them up a third time).

I can’t wait to wear this floral dress with the aforementioned booties and a cozy pair of tights.

This perfect layering tank now comes in a fresh shade that happens to pop beautifully against both dark and light hair.

It’s that time of year where I get particularly excited about the return of plaid, so you can imagine how high up by shopping list this loafer style is.

I’ve always wanted to own a pair of leather pants, and now that I’m a New Yorker (kind of, right?), I feel like it’s my duty to purchase these.

Toile (aka wallpaper print) had a huge moment over the summer, but this jacket means I can keep wearing the print into fall.

White booties always make me feel like a cool girl from the ’70s in the best way.

Here’s that gorgeous goes-with-everything leather jacket I was talking about before. Isn’t she a beauty?

These black jeans hit at the ideal length to show off my favorite booties.

Plus a top to wear under it when it’s too cold for that gold tank but not quite cold enough for a sweater.

These subtly sparkly loafers are going to be my new day-to-night shoe.

I can’t wait until it’s chilly enough to layer a turtleneck under this butterfly-print dress.

There’s no such thing as too many pairs of black boots, so this style with unique gold hardware just feels necessary.

These ultra-dark skinny jeans were seriously made to be worn with every single boot style.

Brown is going to be a huge color trend for fall, so I’m gearing up by purchasing this wide-leg denim style now.

Sneakers have recently become an essential for both stylish outfits and for survival (check my daily step count for proof), so I’ll be swapping out my go-to white pair for this seasonally appropriate black velvet one ASAP.

These black leather booties are my top pick for denim outfits. I’ll be wearing these to work, on date nights, and everything in between.

The World’s Sexiest Accent Has Been Revealed

According to a survey of 5,000 people from OnePoll, the sexiest accent in the world is none other than Irish, because why the fook not?

A spokesperson from OnePoll told Dublin Live, “High-profile stars such as Colin Farrell have helped bring the accent more to the fore.” Conor McGregor‘s thick Dublin brogue probably doesn’t hurt, either.

Two years ago polling website Ranker also found that the sexiest accent in the world was the Irish accent, so clearly there’s just something about it that makes the ladies swoon.

The second sexiest accent was voted to be Italian, which makes sense considering the fact that it’s a Romance language…and because gorgeous actresses like Monica Bellucci and Sophia Loren are Italian.

Monica Bellucci

Interestingly, Scottish took third place, followed by French in fourth and Australian in fifth.

Here are the top ten sexiest accents in the world:

  1. Irish
  2. Italian
  3. Scottish
  4. French
  5. Australian
  6. English
  7. Swedish
  8. Spanish
  9. Welsh
  10. American
