Bill Burr doesn’t shy away from some of today’s most controversial topics in the trailer for his latest Netflix comedy special, Paper Tiger.
The Boston-bred funnyman first tackles family life as he says (screams), “I fucking crush everything. I pick up after myself, I like to think I’m a good dad.”
“I work my ass off, make a great fucking living – crush all of that! All [my wife] has on me is who I am as a person.”
But Burr takes a turn in the second half of the trailer with a slew of fiery, context-less rants like, “Robot sex dolls, they’re gonna fuck us into extinction,” and “Stephen Hawking, you never had anything positive to say,” plus some teasers for what will assuredly be politically incorrect bits on hot-button issues like the #MeToo movement, white privilege and male feminists.
“By the way, this is gonna be my last show ever by the time this fucking thing comes up.” Given that this will be Burr’s sixth stand-up comedy hour in under 10 years, we doubt that.
Bill Burr: Paper Tiger hits Netflix on Tuesday, September 10.
Omega has been around for 170-plus years, predating most of the luxury brands we know today, and one reason may be the venerable watchmaker is always willing to apply its legendary quality standards to new ideas. The latest: the Seamaster Aqua Terra Ultra Light.
Omega designed the Ultra Light especially for use by sportsmen and women. Working with pro golfer and brand ambassador Rory McIlroy, the brand developed a new high-end line of timepieces that combine classic Omega elegance and innovative new features that make these ideal for wearing during competitions.
The chief new wrinkle is that the Ultra Light’s case, caseback, and crown are made of Gamma Titanium. It’s an unusual metal typically used in airplane construction. It’s both tough and light and already in use by golfers on the greens at Omega Masters training in Montana.
With a Milanese-style fabric strap, this gorgeous watch comes in three colorways, red, blue, and green, and clocks in at just 55 grams. Packed inside is Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8928 Ti movement, also made of titanium.
It’s manually wound but has a 72-hour power reserve in addition to excellent magnetic resistance.
The Omega Aqua Terra Ultra Light will sell for $48,600.00 in Omega retail stores everywhere and on omegawatches.com. It will officially be available in the winter of 2020.
American fans of Irish whiskey have two great reasons to get excited about the latest Caskmates bottles from Jameson.
The Dublin-based distillery joined forces with a pair of stateside breweries—Yakima, Washington’s Bale Breaker Brewing Company and Chicago’s Revolution Brewing—to create a duo of expressions launched under its limited-edition Caskmates line.
Brewers from both locations traveled to Ireland to make craft brews in Jameson barrels, which were then used to finish the brand’s triple-distilled brown spirit.
“Going to Ireland to collaborate with Jameson is a brewer’s dream. Our Topcutter IPA embodies where we’re from, and bringing a taste of our neighborhood to the Jameson distillery to create our very own Caskmates Limited Edition was quite incredible,” said Kevin Smith, the head brewer at Bale Breaker Brewery, in a press release.
“When we came together, it was about making something new and different. Chicago has a strong Irish history and now we have an Irish Whiskey of our own,” added Jim Cibak, the head brewer at Revolution Brewing.
Here are the official tasting notes and ABV for each new Caskmates whiskey:
Jameson Caskmates Bale Breaker Limited Edition
Nose: Rich in hops with delicate floral notes
Taste: Citrus notes with some spices and vanilla throughout
Finish: Rich, lasting finish with hints of hops fading to notes of oak and spice
If the revelation that Netflix is releasing El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, has you stoked, here’s an opportunity for you to do your own Breaking Bad cosplay in an actual house used in Season 5, Episode 3 of the AMC drama.
It’s now available for rent on Airbnb from owners who are totally clear on the large 4-bedroom 3-bath home’s legacy and potential appeal.
This house is about 3600 sqft. There are enough beds here to sleep 17 people. One fold-out bed in the Great Room and the other beds are all in bedrooms. The kids bunkbeds are solid and can support up to 200 lbs and each mattress has a mattress protector so accidents aren’t disasters. In the kids room, there are also 2 infant pack n play beds.
Make sure to don the hazmat suits and Vamanos Pest uniforms for fun and pictures during your stay here! A popular activity is to find specific scenes in Season 5 Episode 3, put on the appropriate clothes, match camera angles perfectly, and take pictures making it look like YOU are a part of the show! Create memories that can last a lifetime.
The house was featured in an episode in which Walt and Jesse used a fake pest control service (Vamanos!) to disguise their operation, tenting the house as if it was being fumigated.
For $259 a night—at this writing, the price could always go up—you get plenty of room and carefully-chosen Breaking Bad-themed decor to really enhance the atmosphere.
That’s not all though—it’s just a nice location in general. It’s in northwest Albuquerque and there’s plenty of shopping and other amenities 10-15 minutes away. As you can see when you check out the photos on Airbnb, many iconic Breaking Bad locations are just 15-30 minutes away, including Walter White’s home.
You also get amazing views of the Sandia Mountains and the amazing sunsets so characteristic of the Southwest. That and the owners say in their Airbnb listing that “some mornings you can see hot air balloons which are a staple of the Albuquerque culture.”
Ideally, you’d probably want to snatch this place to hold a party for the October 11 Netflix premiere of El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, but it’s already booked for the 11th through the 13th.
