Modern light microscopic techniques provide extremely detailed insights into organs, but the terabytes of data they produce are usually nearly impossible to process. New software is helping researchers make sense of these reams of data.

How electrons in transition metals get redistributed

Researchers have measured how electrons in so-called transition metals get redistributed within a fraction of an optical oscillation cycle. They observed the electrons getting concentrated around the metal atoms within less than a femtosecond. This regrouping might influence important macroscopic properties of these compounds, such as electrical conductivity, magnetization or optical characteristics. The work therefore suggests a route to controlling these properties on extremely fast time scales.

The Best Nursing Bra is Just Like the Bra You’re Already Wearing

Nursing bras may very well be the most challenging kind of bra to buy. They have to fit and support just right at a time in life when your size is a moving target and your stress level is dialed up to eleven.

The solution is deceptively simple: Whenever possible, choose a nursing bra from your favorite go-to brand. “You already know you like how they’re made, and you know it’s going to work for your body,” says Heather Viskovic, Bare Necessities maternity buyer and mother of two.

This World Breastfeeding Week 2019, Heather is sharing her picks for the best nursing bras. She recommends picking up two or three to start using in the third trimester, when breasts really swell. Then wear them for as long as you need or want to postpartum: “When a bra is well-made and comfortable, you might even wear it after you stop nursing, like I did.”

These new-mom must haves look good, feel good, are easy to use (even in the dead of night) and wash well. You and baby both should be able to get behind these picks.

If you love Freya bras, try Freya Pure Nursing T-Shirt Bra

Heather says: Heather’s personal favorite is this thin, light, breathable spacer foam-lined underwire. “It’s fully adjustable, which is so important for bringing your boobs back up where they belong after your milk lets down,” she says. Heather also likes how the rigid side panels meet the mesh wings for strength or stretch where you need it. Pretty touches, like soft stretch lace trim and ruched straps with a brushed backing, remind you that you can still have nice things.

Size range: bands 30-40, U.K. cups D-HH

Moms say: “I love this bra. With pregnancy and nursing, I went up three cup sizes, and it hasn’t been easy finding a good bra. It fits great, is true to size and gives good support. I love that it looks and feels like a regular bra. Much more attractive than the average nursing bra, too.” –Alejandra

If you love Panache bras, try Panache Eleanor Nursing Bra

Heather says: “This bra is all about buttery softness, from the featherweight spacer foam cups to the thoughtful extra padding on the underwire and straps. I also love that it can be converted to a racerback bra.” With six hook-and-eye columns, it also offers the most widely adjustable back band.

Size range: bands 28-38, U.K. cups D-H

Moms say: “The best bra for when you need lots of support! I tried so many nursing bras and nothing fits as well as this one. I just bought my second one after my first wore out from wearing it daily for a year; definitely got my money’s worth.” –Emily

If you love Chantelle bras, try Chantelle Merci Lightweight Nursing Bra

Heather says: “This bra is the most pared-down; the least amount of coverage. The silky-soft breathable spacer foam gives you opacity without padding, which I think is ideal for nursing moms, and the close-set, wider straps don’t annoyingly slip off your shoulders.”

Size range: bands 32-42, E.U. cups C-G

Moms say: “If you’re looking for a nursing bra that’s like a regular bra, this is it. Most nursing bras are either not lined, have no wires or fit like a sports bra, but this looks the same as normal bras under my work clothes. And it’s no less comfortable, either.” –RDLB

4-Hour Extended Cut of ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ May Be Coming To Netflix

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is still drawing fans to theaters, but there’s already talk of bringing an extended four-hour cut to Netflix.

Nicholas Hammond, who plays TV director Sam Wannamaker, said on The Mutuals Interview: “There is talk about there being a 4-hour Netflix version, as well, because there were a lot of scenes he shot that couldn’t make it into the film because there just simply wasn’t room.”

The film, starring Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Margot Robbie, is already two hours and forty-five minutes long, but surely there’s still a lot of scenes and dialogue to be added and explored.

However, Tarantino has voiced his skepticism of streaming services saying he’s “not excited about streaming at all,” in an interview for the 2015 book I Lost It At The Video Store.

I like something hard and tangible in my hand. And I can’t watch a movie on a laptop. I don’t use Netflix at all. I don’t have any sort of delivery system. I have the videos from Video Archives.

“They went out of business, and I bought their inventory. Probably close to eight thousand tapes and DVDs. I have a bunch of DVDs and a bunch of videos, and I still tape movies off of television on video so I can keep my collection going”.

Regardless, a four-hour cut of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood wouldn’t be the first longer version of a Tarantino film to hit Netflix — his 2015 movie  was a four part mini-series on the streaming platform, and he’s also revealed that he’s made a 200-minute director’s cut of Django Unchained, which will be released after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

“We’re just kind of waiting some time after Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, and we’ll release that eventually,” he said in an interview with Slashfilms.

Heidi Klum Got Married in Italy Wearing the Trendiest Wedding Dress

Congratulations are in order for Heidi Klum and musician Tom Kaulitz. The couple, who got engaged at the end of 2018 with a stunning nontraditional ring and were reported to have legally married earlier this year, has just sealed the deal with a wedding on a boat in Capri, Italy, (as one does) over the weekend. A slew of celebratory events surrounded the wedding, and Klum wore white outfits to all of them—perfect for the occasion and the stunning Italian Riviera location. But you probably just want to hear about the wedding dress, right? While we don’t know who designed the model’s wedding dress yet, we did get a great glimpse of the dress itself, and one thing’s for sure: It’s decidedly on-trend.

Klum’s billowing, heavy lace gown featured a low neckline and off-the-shoulder cut with massive puffed sleeves, which is a trend that’s dominated in 2019. The puffed sleeves gave a romantic, princess-like quality to the gown, which she appears to have worn with bare feet.

Klum’s other white looks for the events surrounding the ceremony included a caftan for sightseeing around Capri and a plunging white swimsuit, among others. If all of this isn’t living la dolce vita (sorry, had to), we don’t know what is. See Heidi Klum’s wedding dress and the rest of her wedding weekend looks below.
