Anna Wintour Told Taylor Swift Which Fashion Trend Should’ve Never Existed

If you love Anna Wintour and Taylor Swift, you’re in for a treat. In the latest edition of Vogue’s video series Go Ask Anna, Swift took over and asked all of the questions herself. But it wasn’t just a random thing—at the end of the video, Swift announced that she landed the coveted September issue cover, which is perfectly timed with her soon-to-be-released album, Lover.

Swift’s questions for Wintour ran the gamut from the highest compliment she could pay someone to what character she’d play in Cats, but the one fashion-related question was a good one. Swift asked what trend from the last couple of years she wishes never existed. Wintour responded that after just being in Paris for the couture shows, she had seen “far too many neon leopard-print leggings, something that I would definitely not want to see again.” Can’t argue with that. Take note for the upcoming fashion month, folks.

Scroll on to watch the highly entertaining video and see photos from Swift’s ’70s-inspired shoot, and read the accompanying interview here.

Next, six summer trends that have Anna Wintour’s approval.

America’s Best and Worst Airports, Ranked

Airports seem like places that thrive on giving travelers some consistency. Tight security, clear directions, up-to-date information, places to shop and eat–you name it, you can expect to find some version in every place you land. They’re transit stations, malls, and temporary prisons all in one.

So it’s weird that there is such a huge gap in quality found between them. For every pleasant, eminently bearable experience, there’s a stressful slog through a transportation wasteland.

Via Thrillist, we learn that the folks behind The Points Guy ranked airports around the country in order of quality, to find the very best and the absolute worst. Thrillist breaks down how these lists were made:

To figure it out, they looked at the 50 busiest airports in the country and considered a broad range of elements ranging from their sustainability efforts to the connection to their local communities.

Then they factored in data from traffic analytics experts to determine how long it takes to get their from the city itself, and surveyed the US Department of Transportation database to see the on-time flight departure and arrival stats.

The winner for 2019? San Diego International. It was found to have the best amenities as well as the best on-time record.

At least logistically, private jet travel is now accessible to everyone (Photo: Stratajet)

Chicago’s Midway fared worst. According to Thrillist, points were lost from “meager amenities, a lackluster on-time record, and its location, which is a schlep from the center of the city.”

Here are the best and worst airports in America. Consider yourself warned.

Nike SpongeBob SquarePants X Kyrie Irving Sneaker Collab Is An Ode To Bikini Bottom

NBA baller Kyrie Irving is teaming up with ’90s cartoon superstar SpongeBob Squarepants for a new Nike sneaker collection with five colorways that each pay homage to the show’s characters. There’s colorful tributes to “SpongeBob,” “Patrick Star,” “Squidward Tentacles,” “Mr. Krabs,” and “Sandy Cheeks” in the eye-popping new collab.

The SpongeBob colorway has a yellow upper just like the titular spongey cartoon icon with darker dots representing the holes in the sponge.

The Nike swoosh on the side is more of a squiggle to better represent the underwater nature of Bikini Bottom, and the insoles have SpongeBob’s face.

The Patrick Star colorway has a pink upper, pink laces, and a green and purple outsole just like his shorts.

The insole also has Patrick’s face on the sole.

The Sandy Cheeks colorway has an all white upper with a pink flower on one side and an acorn on the back.

Since Mr. Krabs is a crab, his colorway has a red upper and a green money-inspired lining because he sure loves money.

Aaand there’s a smushed Plankton on the side right above the swoosh.

Squidward Tentacles looks as displeased as ever with his light green upper with slightly darker laces.

The purple outsole representing the underside of his tentacles adds a nice touch.

You can get the SpongeBob SquarePants x Kyrie collection from Nike for $130 starting August 10 at 10:00 am EST.

13 Dresses and Shoes I’m Copying From Copenhagen’s Street Style Girls

Copenhagen’s street style set never disappoints. They love color, embrace prints, try out exaggerated silhouettes, and always manage to introduce us to new brands—even if we think we know everything there is to know about Scandi fashion.

Often dashing from show to show on bicycles, they like to pull out some pretty clever combinations. Let’s just say they’re famous for looking chic enough to attend fashion week but still casual enough to whizz around town on two wheels.

A few trends have already started to emerge, and we’ve documented them all in one lovely street style gallery for you. However, there are a few key items we’ve noticed outside of these general themes that have managed to find a place on our wish lists. From new brands we’ve been introduced to for the best printed dresses to the high-street sandals many of the city’s coolest ladies have been loving, below are the key dresses and shoes we’ve noticed (because let’s face it—those are the two products we live for).

Tiffany Hsu looks like a total dream in this satin maxi from Rejina Pyo. The turquoise-blue Bottega clutch adds a really unexpected jolt of color.

Bottega Veneta’s sandals have been just as popular in Copenhagen as the rest of the globe, with the square-toe sandals being a particular favorite. Retailers are expecting a restock very soon…

Produced in a Liberty of London floral fabric, there’s nothing about this Ivy Oak dress we don’t adore. From the demure shape and the versatile colours to full hem and sleeves, it’s a truly lovely thing.

Green shoes appear to be a trend over at #CPHFW, with many opting in for high-street versions, like these minimalistic mules from Zara. You may recall that we said these were going to be a smash a few weeks ago…

Réalisation’s yellow floral dresses have been popular with both celebrities and influencers (like Emili Sindlev pictured here) all summer long.

Alexis always leads us to new labels, and this outfit is no exception. Her very elegant dress is from Aeron, a Hungarian designer label you may or may not have heard of yet. Same goes for her bag—it’s from C.Nicol and well worth checking out.

These dinky Dear Frances sandals have been popular with the street style set as well as celebrities—they come in quite a few different colors and are the perfect go-with-everything midi heels you may well be missing.

Still going strong after many months in the spotlight, The Row’s Bare sandals remain a popular choice for the girls of Copenhagen. We also like the idea of wearing a cream outfit with bright red shoes.

Nnenna’s fabulous caped dress is from a brand I always look to for unique frocks and skirts: Rodebjer. She ramps it up even further with Balenciaga sneakers, a bag from Boyy, and the Loewe sunglasses we’ve seen trending hard all summer.

Charles & Keith’s pastel mules were a favorite choice when they first came out during LFW back in February. They still stand up as a solid shoe option for 2019, and luckily, there are still some left to snap up.

How pretty is this cutout pink midi? Perfect if you’ve still got a holiday or two on the horizon.

I’ve had Totême’s flip-flop heels (yes, really, that’s a thing) on my radar for some time now. This is another chic getup to persuade me to finally buy a pair…

Art Dealer is a new brand we’re tapping for vintage-inspired dresses. It also does blouses, skirts and more (as you can see from Annabel’s look on the right), but it’s this little floral wrap dress taking the limelight.

Emily Ratajkowski Wore Just a Lacy Bra and Underarm Hair on Her New Cover

The September issue covers, undoubtedly the most important magazine covers of the year, are starting come out, and Harper’s Bazaar caught our attention right away. The cover star is none other than Emily Ratajkowski. Now, Ratajkowski has graced hundreds of covers at this point, but none have made as big of a statement as this one, as EmRata is photographed wearing nothing but a lacy bra and grown-out underarm hair (and a lovely pair of earrings).

In addition to posing for the cover, Ratajkowski took her turn in doing something that’s becoming quite the norm for magazine cover stars: penning her own essay instead of doing an interview. Since she rose to fame, Ratajkowski has been one of the celebrity set’s most vocal feminists, and in the essay, she touches on everything from being free to make her own choices (like letting her body hair grow out) to demanding respect as a woman, no matter how she decides to present herself.

Regarding her choice to grow her body hair out, Ratajkowski wrote in the essay, “If I decide to shave my armpits or grow them out, that’s up to me. For me, body hair is another opportunity for women to exercise their ability to choose—a choice based on how they want to feel and their associations with having or not having body hair. On any given day, I tend to like to shave, but sometimes letting my body hair grow out is what makes me feel sexy. And there is no right answer, no choice that makes me more or less of a feminist, or even a ‘bad feminist,’ to borrow from Roxane Gay. … Ultimately, the identity and sexuality of an individual is up to them and no one else.”

Seiko Relaunches Iconic Seiko 5 Range of Sports Watches

Seiko first launched Seiko 5 Sports watches in 1963. You can still find the vintage versions online, going for up to nearly $800 if they’re in good shape.

Many qualities found in the original Seiko 5 line ended up inspiring complications (features) that are considered standard benchmarks today. So Seiko decided to relaunch the line with a new series of 27 watches, all slotted under five broad categories of use: Sports, Suits, Specialist, Street and Sense.

The new Seiko 5s will be familiar to fans of the vintage line, as they carry many of the same key features:

  • Automatic movements
  • Day/date window at the 3 o’clock position
  • They’re water resistant, of course
  • Tough bracelet and a 42.5mm stainless steel case.

Add to these a clear caseback and magnetic resistance and you’ve got a killer combo of classic and modern–something Seiko does exceedingly well.

Seiko lovers will get a 41-hour power reserve and shock resistance as well, all for a price range of $314-$381.

The Seiko 5 rebirth happens in September 2019. Learn more and see additional variations here: Seiko5Sports.com.
