In an interview with Jake Tapper, Vice President Mike Pence repeatedly refused to say whether he believed climate change was a man-made threat to humanity, despite an overwhelming scientific consensus from researchers within the U.S. government that it is. What do you think?

Alex Rodriguez Praised For His ‘Money Mind’ by Legendary Investor Warren Buffett

Financial icon Warren Buffett praised mentor Alex Rodriguez’s “money mind” in a new Sports Illustrated cover story about the former Yankees superstar and rising businessman.
“Alex may give me some credit—but he doesn’t need me,” Buffet said. “He’s got a money mind. He just gets things, if they’re business-or money-related.”
Yes, A-Rod is the highest-earning baseball player of all time, having made over $450 million during his 22-season career. But his current wealth isn’t just leftover MLB cash.
Rodriguez serves as CEO of A-Rod Corp, his investment company, which he says has hundreds of millions of dollars in assets, as well as dozens of employees.
A-Rod’s combination of business savvy and sports celebrity serves him well as an investor on Shark Tank and the host of CNBC’s Back in the Game, where he helps former pro athletes to find their financial footing.
Buffet–the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, revered financial oracle and, oh yeah, the world’s fourth-richest man–also lauded A-Rod’s “bullshit detector” when it comes to sniffing out bad potential business partners.
“Most athletes get gamed,” Buffet added. “They’re pigeons, basically. They don’t have a nose for smelling out the people that are promoters rather than true friends. I don’t know if the term is used anymore, but we used to call them jock-sniffers.”
“They promote partnerships, the young kid is getting checks like he never dreamt of before. Sometimes even their agents may be in cahoots. That has not happened to Alex, and it wouldn’t happen to Alex. He’s got a bullshit detector that’s pretty damn good.”
High praise from Buffett is impressive regardless, especially for a guy who never went to college.
“I went to prom, and a few months later I’m in Fenway Park, facing Roger Clemens,” Rodriguez said.
“I’m still a boy, and here I am having to play with people who are twice my age. I felt this fake bravado. Physically, I was ready, because I was a man-child. But not emotionally. “
“Then you go on this ascending road for 20 years, along the way you make hundreds of millions of dollars, it’s fucking hard to have some reality, some self-awareness.”
“In college, you get four years to get things out of your system, to grow, to learn. I don’t know what that’s like.”
So when did A-Rod develop that “money mind?” While he was serving his infamous season-long suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs in 2014.
“The sabbatical—my time off, when I served my suspension—really taught me things that I should have been learning at 19, 20, 21 years old,” he said.
Now the superstar-athlete-turned-business mogul (and fiance of Jennifer Lopez) lives a more lavish lifestyle than ever. In the same SI interview, he dished on run-ins with fellow celebs at this year’s Met Gala, most notably Kylie Jenner.
“We had a great table. The black guy from The Wire — Idris Elba, yeah, and his new wife. Some famous singer next to me, I don’t know what her name is,” Rodriguez told SI.
“Versace—Donatella. We had Kylie and Kendall. And we had an Asian gentleman from Rich Asians, the lead.”
Of course, the former Jenner became the world’s youngest self-made billionaire at the ripe age of 21 earlier this year, mostly thanks to the success of her makeup company, Kylie Cosmetics.
According to A-Rod, that’s all she talked about.
“Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is,” Rodriguez added.
His less-than-flattering comment on Jenner’s table banter definitely doesn’t come from a place of financial jealously.
SI’s Ben Reiter gleaned a glimpse of his wealthy lifestyle while aboard his multi-million dollar Gulfstream IVSP private jet, on which Rodriquez reportedly spends three full weeks per year flying in style while jamming to Journey and Bon Jovi.
Per SI:
It’s outfitted with 10 plush seats and a bed, as well as endless healthy snacks arrayed next to a single white orchid, WiFi, delicious shrimp cocktail and salmon filets served on green-rimmed Limoges china, and a smooth sound system that plays Rodriguez’s favorite bands, like Bon Jovi and Journey.
“Ash!” he shouts out to an assistant, upon boarding. “Coldplay!”
Oh, and about that amazing rumor that he had a centaur painting of himself hanging over his bed?: “Never true.”
Lightyear One Is a Solar-Powered Electric Car With Ridiculous Range

A new Dutch car company just revealed a solar-powered electric prototype with a range that aims to blow away that of every other all-electric vehicle on the market.
Aside from having a pretty cool name, the so-called “Lightyear One” packs a ton of tech designed to maximize driving efficiency.
The hood and roof are embedded with five square meters of integrated solar cells that charge the vehicle whenever it’s under the sun. They’re protected by a durable safety glass that’s “so strong that a fully grown adult can walk on them without causing dents.”
Similar to the radical, methanol-powered EV we wrote about earlier this year, the Lightyear One is propelled by four motors—one in each wheel. Lightyear says this cuts down on weight, improves control, and, most importantly, cuts back on the energy loss sustained in regular drivetrains.
The shell’s supercar-like lines are for more than just looks. Lightyear makes the lofty claim that the vehicle has the best aerodynamic drag coefficient of anything on the market, which further increases range, as does the extensive use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber and aluminum throughout the car’s construction.

All of this clever engineering results in a maximum range of nearly 500 miles (800 kilometers). For comparison’s sake, that’s 130 miles farther than Tesla Model S, which currently is the range-leading EV on the market, according to Kelly Blue Book.
“The main goal of the car is to fill in where electric cars fall short,” Lex Hoefsloot, head of Lightyear, said in a statement per CNET’s Road Show.
“Research has shown that range and the lack of charging options are still the top concerns that people have when considering purchasing electric cars.”
It’ll also be able to hit 100 mph in a sporty ten seconds, and there’s room inside for five adults. Early renderings show a super-clean, minimalist interior with a touchscreen at the center of the dash.
Prices will start at around $135,000 (€119,000) when the Lightyear One arrives in 2021. Visit the company’s website to for more info.
Steak and Bourbon-Flavored Ice Cream Is Finally Here

Experimenting with ice cream isn’t new. That’s why you can find flavors like cilantro and lime and curry and mint with just a quick google search. But Longhorn Steakhouse appears bent on proving you can mess around with the summer treat and come up with something awesome.
Like steaks and bourbon. Who doesn’t like that combo? Longhorn understands nearly everyone loves it, so they’re putting steak and bourbon-flavored ice cream on their dessert menu.
Here’s what you get with a couple of scoops of this epic mashup: steak bits, the same signature seasoning Longhorn puts on actual steaks, and bourbon-flavored caramel.
It sounds like a pretty intense combo of savory and sweet, and social media reactions to Longhorn’s announcement indicate some are a little puzzled by it.
At this point we have to wonder why no one has gotten Nick Offerman in as the face of this particular product. It seems tailor-made for his iconic “Ron Swanson” character from Parks and Rec, who famously loved all things steak and booze-related.

Here’s the thing—this flavor will only be available at Longhorn restaurants in Tampa, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, New York City, Cleveland, Chicago, Nashville, and Atlanta.
It costs $3.99 per serving and will be on the menu beginning July 1.
‘Breaking Bad’ Fans Think Bryan Cranston And Aaron Paul Are Tweeting Hints About the Movie

One thing that is certainly consistent between Breaking Bad and its prequel, Better Call Saul is that the actors and crew on the shows are great about keeping things under wraps. They’ve done that pretty well with the movie they’re supposedly making right now, code-named Greenbriar.
They aren’t afraid to drop hints, though, and fans of the first show in particular are certain that’s what Bryan Cranston—the late, great Walter White on Bad—and Aaron Paul, a.k.a. Jesse Pinkman, were doing regarding Greenbriar when they posted the following identical Twitter updates.
So it’s a pair of mules, apparently, and one word: “Soon.”
Get it? Mules, as in “drug mules,” maybe? Or asses, as in “badasses?”
Naturally fans want to know what’s up—whether this is a hint regarding Greenbriar.
While the movie reportedly takes place immediately after the events at the end of Breaking Bad and Walter White died in the series finale, there’s always the chance that there are flashbacks or dream scenes for remaining characters—and primarily, that’s Jesse Pinkman.
From The Hollywood Reporter, some key details about the movie:
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the feature-length movie will be a sequel revolving around Aaron Paul, who will reprise his Emmy-winning role as Jesse Pinkman.
Sources also confirm that Netflix will have first-run rights to the top-secret project, which will then air on AMC. (Representatives for AMC, Netflix and producers Sony Pictures TV all declined to comment.)
As THR previously reported, the Breaking Bad movie will be written by original series creator Vince Gilligan, who will executive produce the project alongside franchise collaborators Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein.
Gilligan, sources say, will direct the film, which will follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.
Twitter users responding to Cranston and Paul certainly see some obvious hints.
We don’t know when Greenbriar (sometimes spelled Greenbrier) will drop, but it’s reportedly going to both Netflix and AMC, streaming first, then airing at a scheduled time.
With teases like this beginning to pop up from major actors but no known release date, hopefully we won’t have that long to wait.
