Given that I actually just ordered these $35 Who What Wear Jacey mules for Target for myself, I thought it would be a fitting time to round up some of the best ways to wear them this season. After all, even when a shoe is as affordable as this, it’s nice to still know that you’re buying something versatile in case, say, you ran out of closet space seven pairs ago—or something like that.
Anyway, back to the looks you’re about to see. Not surprisingly but much to my delight, a solid four out of 10 include jeans (my personal favorite wardrobe staple for anyone who didn’t already know that). Even if summer denim is not your thing, you’re still covered with outfit ideas that involve shorts, skirts, and more. To see them all for yourself then shop the shoes and more affordable pairs from our collection, just keep scrolling.
As I’m sitting here writing this, I’m annoyed. After getting a lovely gel manicure about a week and a half ago (on that was still going strong up until about two seconds ago), my thumb just ripped in two. Or to be more specific and less dramatic, my thumbnail caught on something, ripped, and I couldn’t resist going rogue and completely tearing it off so that my left thumbnail is about half the length of the right. (Sorry for that sordid visual.) Of course, this probably wouldn’t be a problem if I wasn’t a nail addict who polishes and lacquers up weekly like it’s going out of style, never picks up a cuticle oil even though I have countless gorgeous elixirs sitting on my night table, and notoriously peels off gel. (If you don’t know what that last part is, we’ll enlighten you below—it’s not good.)
We can’t help it—there’s just something so captivating about French-inspired beauty. Not surprisingly, certain cult-loved brands like La Roche-Posay, Bioderma, Nuxe, Klorane, and so, so many more have gained momentous popularity here in the United States. After all, who doesn’t want to remove their makeup, apply sunscreen, or drench their strands in shine like a chic Parisian? (Thought so.) But, there is a but.
During a recent dinner and wine date I had with one of my very favorite women, Marie-Laure of Fournier PR+Consulting (who also happens to be French—surprise!), we got on the topic of French beauty—two words that here in the U.S. have slowly morphed into a sought-after aesthetic and, eek, don’t hate me, a diluted, debatably basic category of beauty product.
I love Nordstrom as much as the next fashion girl, but my one complaint would be that it simply has too much to choose from (which isn’t really a complaint, but I digress). It’s one of those one-stop shops that basically has everything you could possibly need or want to fill your closet, beauty product collection, or home with. But most of what I purchase from Nordstrom is of the clothing, shoe, or accessory sort. (Shocking, I know.) So just for fun, I spent more time than I’d like to admit combing through the thousands of items on Nordstrom with the goal of finding only the best ones in the under-$50 price range.
My search proved to be fruitful, as I found a plethora of T-shirts, shoes, activewear, and accessories that I’d admittedly pay more than $50 for. I hope you have as much fun shopping these items as I had choosing them. Keep scrolling to let the aforementioned fun begin.
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan
Directions:
Set a 6-qt Instant Pot® to the high saute setting. Heat olive oil; add ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks; drain excess fat.
Add onion, and cook, stirring frequently, until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Stir in wine, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Stir in marinara sauce, beef stock and pasta; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Select manual setting; adjust pressure to high, and set time for 5 minutes. When finished cooking, quick-release pressure according to manufacturer’s directions. Stir in basil and Parmesan.
Serve immediately.

The new arrivals section is always a place that I look to for inspiration about which pieces to add to my wardrobe, but no item speaks to me as much as the shoe section. Much like our favorite style icon, Carrie Bradshaw, I believe in the power of a great shoe, and the collection in my closet will speak to that. With that in mind, you can count on me to always have an eye on the best new shoe arrivals, which, right now, are heavily leaning into summer styles I’m ready to add to my vacation wardrobe.

From strappy sandals to barely-there flats to nouveau flip-flops and more, these are the shoes you’ll spot fashion insiders—and our editors—adding to their closets now. Go on to shop my picks that tap into the biggest trends of the moment that will continue all summer long.
