Samsung releases some clever Disney and Pixar wallpapers for the Galaxy S10

One of the ways that Samsung moved away from having a notch on its Galaxy S10 family of smartphones was to put the front-facing camera and sensors in the display, leaving a small cutout in the corner of the screen. Users have created some clever wallpapers to hide the hole, and Samsung recently partnered with Disney to release a series of its own custom wallpapers that camouflage the camera

Hiding the hole is pretty easy with the right wallpaper: it just needs to be surrounded by something that’s black, or call attention to it with something is actually a hole, or at least a small, round dot. MMA Fighter Scores Knockout of the Year With a Flying Knee 10 Seconds Into Match

Movlid Khaybulae takes out Damon Jackson

If anyone watches this without flinching, step away from them because something is wrong. This almost immediate flying knee knockout in the first round of a recent Professional Fighters League (PFL) match on Long Island between Damon Jackson and Movlid Khaybulaev is the stuff of martial arts action movies.

Only, of course, this is painfully real.

It really may be the Knockout of the Year, for its brutal visual perfection alone.

A video still of the moment tells the whole story, really: first, Jackson’s head is snapping back too fast for even a hi-def camera to catch his expression; second, Khaybulaev looks like he’s in The Matrix.

It was a hell of an introduction to Khaybulaev, who has fought in Russia with ONE Championship, according to USA Today.

But we’re not just hyping, here. The reaction on social media from MMA enthusiasts was mostly characterized by total awe.

There are plenty more such responses where those came from.

Jackson is reportedly fine—after all you don’t go anywhere in MMA if you have a glass jaw, even after a nasty blow like that—but he probably doesn’t like being on the receiving end of one of the fastest knockouts ever.

That said, even he would probably admit this was a thing of painful beauty.

There’s now a museum dedicated to Robert Moog and synthesis called the Moogseum

Robert Moog changed the landscape of music forever when he launched the first commercial synthesizer in the ‘60s. Since then, the Moog name has become synonymous with synthesis and iconic pieces of hardware like the Minimoog. Now, the Bob Moog Foundation has opened the Moogseum — a museum dedicated to Moog’s work and other important music devices — in Asheville, North Carolina.

The museum had its soft opening this week but will officially celebrate a grand opening on August 15th. The 1,400 square foot space features an immersive visualization dome that lets guests “step inside a circuit board” to see how electricity becomes sound, and a recreation of Bob Moog’s workbench. There are also rare theremins on display, prototype synth modules…
