This Bikini Trend Is Suddenly Dying
As temperatures are rising, so are the occasions to wear swimsuits, and celebrities have been quick to snap photos of their latest looks at the beach and pool. We’ve already highlighted the coolest new swim trends for this year and the swimsuits that are out, and ahead I’m breaking down the styles A-listers are getting behind—aka the most popular celebrity bikini trends in 2019—and the one trend that celebs are notably skipping.
Looking to recent celeb beach outfits, barely there bikinis are being embraced in a huge way. String bikinis and triangle tops are being endorsed by celebs like Bella Hadid and the always photogenic J. Lo. On the other end of the spectrum, we’re seeing celebs like Kylie Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski wearing inventive one-pieces that range from belted swimsuits to styles with cutouts.
The one style we’re not seeing celebrities wear right now? High-waisted bikinis. The silhouette has been hugely popular in the last few years, but now celebrities seem to be shying away from the style. Go on to see the swimsuits the celebrity bikini and one-piece trends they’re wearing instead that are already huge in 2019 and shop pieces to get their looks.
The Controversial Swim Trend I’m So Into Right Now
If I were to write a short list of clothing items that scare me, somewhere after body-con dresses and maybe before uncomfortable shoes and white jeans, you’d find white bathing suits. You may have already read about the fact that I don’t particularly love wearing bathing suits in the first place but buy them anyway—now if you take a category that already makes me uncomfortable and choose a white (aka nowhere-to-hide) iteration, I’m downright petrified. It’s kind of how my co-worker Aemilia feels about another bubbling swim trend.
Nonetheless, you can imagine my confusion when I suddenly noticed how many of my favorites suits were actually white. Maybe seeing so many of them (after all, they are having a moment) was like a form of exposure therapy, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I actually ordered a couple while simultaneously researching stories.
Will I end up channeling my inner Sofia Richie this summer? Only time will tell, but for now, you can shop all the nicest white bikinis and one-pieces I have my eyes on below—and some of which even have shopper reviews to back them up.
That’s all for swimwear, but you can shop more trends I’m loving right now.

The Capsule Wardrobe: How to Reduce Your Closet to 37 Pieces
Is it us, or does it suddenly seem like less is so much more? While the minimalist lifestyle has been gaining traction for a while now, lately it seems the trend has narrowed in on an area dear to our hearts: the closet. Whether it’s Marie Kondo’s often wardrobe-focused tidying technique or Matilda Kahl’s choice to wear one outfit to work for three years, many are looking to trim the fat in their closets. After all, who doesn’t have and resent a large selection of unworn, often low-quality items? We know we’re guilty.
One closet-reducing program that’s especially buzzy as of late is the capsule wardrobe. While many have jumped on the clothes-purging bandwagon—blogger Harben Porter has whittled her wardrobe down to 40 pieces, and popular lifestyle blogger Oh Happy Day has cut her closet down to an impressive yet terrifying 12 pieces—the authority on the capsule wardrobe movement is Caroline Rector of Unfancy. Below, we explore what a real capsule wardrobe looks like, Rector’s methodology, what it’s done to change her life, and how to start your own capsule collection.
Scroll down to see our how-to and what the capsule wardrobe looks like IRL so you can start simplifying your closet and your life.

My Style Is Simple, and These Are My Favorite Spring Outfit Ideas
As I’ve said many a time before, my day-to-day style is simple—but that doesn’t mean it’s boring (at least, I hope not). I love fun fashion items such as tie-dye printed tops, statement heels, and impractically small bags as much as the next fashion girl, but when it comes to the pieces and outfits I wear most often, they are pretty relaxed. Think basics such as jeans, T-shirts and black sandals on repeat. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit.
As far as spring outfits go, I’ve found nine outfits that do the talking for me—modeled by girls to probably look a lot cooler in them, too. From celebrity style to street style to Instagram style, just keep scrolling for the outfits I’ll be re-creating in the weeks to come and shop what you’ll need to get the look for yourself along the way.
