The Word Is Out: Never Wear These Shoes With Leggings

There is no denying that leggings have become a streetwear staple to the wardrobes of nearly every It girl in existence. Remember the great debate of whether or not leggings were pants? Well, that’s been put to rest, as celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Chrissy Teigen not only wear them on the regular, but they style them in ways unthinkable. In case you weren’t aware, Gigi and Chrissy have the same stylist, Monica Rose, and during a three-day trip hosted by Reebok, I had the opportunity to interview the genius herself.

Curious to pick her brain on all things legging- and sneaker-related, I first asked Monica what the best sneakers to wear with leggings are. She said, “I think a [Reebok] classic leather is good to wear. I just think it’s such a comfortable shoe. When I wear them, I’m excited for work and excited to be comfortable. But for leggings, I think any sneaker really goes with them.” If you aren’t familiar with the Classic Leather sneakers Monica speaks so highly of, don’t worry, we shopped out the best colors below.

In addition to the best sneakers to wear with leggings, I asked Monica what the one item was she would never style with leggings. Without hesitation, she clearly stated to consider leaving your thigh-high boots at home. If Monica Rose, the mastermind behind some of the most memorable looks in fashion right now, says she would never put thigh-high boots with leggings, that means the powerful clan that is Monica’s clients won’t be wearing that boot style with leggings anytime soon.

Go on to shop the sneakers Monica Rose says look the best with leggings, including the Reebok Classic Leather style.

These will become your next favorite pair.
Can’t go wrong with a classic.
Sleek and simple, these are sure to go well with whatever you pair them.
These are so comfortable, you’ll never want to take them off.
It’s no surprise that these were the shoe of the year for 2018.
Now these are just cool.
A blush pink sneaker will feel so unexpected compared to bright white ones.
A luxurious take on a classic style.
The best part about these is that they’re sustainably made.
With the croc print, these are so on-trend for the season.
These velcro high-tops have a modern feel to them.
Embrace the “ugly” sneaker trend with these.
There are so many different outfits you can wear with these sneakers.
If you prefer to wear all-black ensembles, you can’t go wrong with these.

The Best Shoes to Wear With Spring’s Trickiest Trends

As I’ve said (many times) before, not all trends are created equal. Firstly, not every trend is for everyone, meaning you’re not expected to like every item that comes down the runway, but beyond that, there are other factors to consider. Some, for example, are more accessible and are easy to find in a range of price points, while others are more niche or can require bigger budgets. Some are practical for your lifestyle, while others simply have less uses.

Furthermore, some trends are simply harder to style than others, and here at Who What Wear, we don’t like that! Not caring for a trend is one thing, but if you’re interested in trying a specific one out but simply unsure how to approach it, that’s when we come in with a solution. Which brings me to the subject of today’s post: I’m breaking down the best shoes to style with five of spring’s trickiest trends so you have no excuse not to dive in. To see and read about my tips and shop each one, just keep scrolling.

The 15 Best Dry Shampoos to Sop Up Summer Hair Sweat

According to Sephora, this is the best-selling dry shampoo that routinely flies off its shelves. It’s won countless awards, is a beauty-editor favorite, works equally well on every hair type, and actually cleans your hair while also banishing oil, sweat, and the inevitable odor that comes along with the two former.
We’re super obsessed with this dry shampoo for its rich signature scent and the way it magically tricks us into thinking we’re actually on day two (not five) of our no-wash schedule. Oh, and if you’re in the camp of people who aren’t fans of Drybar’s iconic scent, the brand also makes this detoxifying formula in a new Lush scent—pick your poison.
This vibrant dry shampoo bottle has been around for years, and the fact that it still maintains high status among Sephora shoppers is telling. It’s ultra-lightweight, the smell isn’t overbearing, and it’s formulated with natural rice starch (not talc or aluminum) to effortlessly rejuvenate your hair.
For a long time, there was a major issue within the industry since so many dry shampoo formulas coated our strands with a white or ashy finish. Therefore, those with dark hair struggled to find dry shampoos that would actually look, well, good. However, brands have come a long way in their development, and many have launched formulas that are either tinted or specifically catered to darker hair colors. This one from Moroccanoil smells delicious and is a consistent standout.
I recently tried this shampoo for the first time on my third or fourth day without washing and couldn’t believe the results. It’s the fifth best-selling dry shampoo you can buy at Sephora, and I couldn’t believe how effective its roster of ingredients (think charcoal and white tea) was at completely refreshing my hair with maximum volume and minimal grime.
One of the many reasons we love Nordstrom is its amazing lineup of under-the-radar brands that have really awesome products but don’t get as much commercial attention. Such is the case with the brand N:P Beautiful—the brainchild of celebrity hairstylist David Babaii—and this beloved volumizing dry shampoo.
Nordstrom’s next best-selling dry shampoo, (from celebrity colorist Chad Kenyon) this tinted dry shampoo is great for those who don’t want a trace of their application to be obvious to the naked eye but still want to cover roots or grays. Additional perks include an extra dose of volume and texture.
This invisible dry shampoo might be one of Bumble and Bumble’s most well-known—and -loved—hair formulas. As the name would suggest, it’s virtually undetectable in the hair and strategic additions like French pink clay easily absorb oil and sweat in a snap. (It also offers UV filters for environmental and sun protection!)
A great option for all hair types, this holy-grail dry shampoo from R+Co is strategic. It sucks up what you don’t want (e.g. grease and oil) while imparting instant grip and control for megawatt volume, texture, and stying opportunities.
If you’re one of those people who love it when their hair smells good, we’ve just found you the best dry shampoo BFF. Infused with the scent of pretty florals, this style- and freshness-extending dry shampoo from Philosophy is one of the best according to Nordstrom shoppers.
Oribe is known as one of the best haircare brands in the beauty industry, so it’s not surprising its iconic Gold Lust dry shampoo is the number one favorite at Dermstore. Yes, the packaging is chic AF, but it’s also essential if you want to fake the look of a full cleanse and condition without actually stepping inside the shower. Plus, the ingredient list is truly dreamy thanks to watermelon, lychee, edelweiss, myrrh, lavender, and chamomile, among plenty of other nice things.
The only non-mist on our list (sorry, I couldn’t help myself!), this unique paste from R+Co is the second best-selling dry shampoo on Dermstore’s website. Featuring exotic ingredients like coconut oil, zeolite, volcanic ash, argan oil, and sunflower seed extract, this dry shampoo is formulated as a paste with a matte finish and can serve as a grease-zapping and style-gifting product in one convenient tube.
Another great option for those with darker hair, this favorite from Swedish haircare brand Sachajuan will build up body and volume (thanks to potato starch, of all things!) while also absorbing excess oil.
If you’re looking for a natural dry shampoo that actually, you know, works, Dermstore shoppers dub this mist from René Furterer as one of the best. Its hero ingredient is highly absorbent argilla powder along with a host of dreamy essential oils for a fresh, not dirty, scent.
Complete with enzyme therapy, seasilk, caviar extract, and Alterna’s signature Age-Control and Flex-Strenght Complexes, this sheer, featherlight dry shampoo refreshes hair with a new and exciting powder delivery system. It adds texture and volume while soaking up the icky stuff like oil and other impurities your potential good hair day just doesn’t need.  Next up: The 23 Most Sought-After Hair Products You Can Buy at Sephora Right Now

Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili

Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili - The easiest crockpot recipe of your life! It's a one pot wonder - no searing, no fuss. Simply throw everything right in!

I love a good crockpot recipe. Especially the ones that cook low and slow for 7-8 hours, undisturbed, as you walk into the door from work where dinner is magically finished and set.

But then there are those other crockpot recipes that require a little bit of babysitting – ex. an initial sear before that low-and-slow goodness or a cornstarch slurry at the very end of cooking time.

But again, I truly love all slow cooker recipes. But I’m just not particularly fond of the ones that require that extra step, you know?

That’s why this recipe has quickly become my favorite recipe yet.

Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili - The easiest crockpot recipe of your life! It's a one pot wonder - no searing, no fuss. Simply throw everything right in!

There’s no searing, no fuss. No extra steps of anything. No nothing.

Nope. You can throw everything right into the crockpot – all of it.

Then you can let it cook low and slow as the chicken gets so unbelievably tender – so tender, you can even shred this by giving the chili a good stir in the crockpot. (Note: chicken breasts can be substituted here, but thighs are much better in my opinion).

When ready to serve, top this bad boy off with all your favorite toppings – tortilla chips, cilantro, sour cream, red onion, avocado slices and lime wedges. But for me, personally, I just need a bag of tortilla chips for dipping purposes.

3 Dead Giveaways of Cheap Jewelry

We don’t like to use dirty words here, but today we’ll make an exception because we’re going to talk about—gasp—cheap jewelry. You know the kind. Rings that turn your fingers green, necklaces that clank loudly against your other more subdued chains with cacophonous abandon. What we’re not here to talk about, however, is why you have to spend an exorbitant amount of money on your next jewelry purchase. Instead, we’re tackling the dead giveaways of a cheap bauble and how to avoid them (while still avoiding an expensive price tag).

We tapped the founder and designer of cult-favorite label Wolf Circus, Fiona Morrison, for her insights on the subject. The brand is on the cusp of launching its fine jewelry sister label Ok Fine, but the current assortment offers affordable luxury pieces for the modern woman. “Since chains are usually the first to tarnish, [I] suggest buying jewelry that uses gold filled or sterling silver chains,” Morrison tells Who What Wear. “Also as gemstones can be fairly expensive, pearls are a more price-friendly alternative and are also on trend right now. Overall, investing in some quality staples like gold hoops and simple signet rings and then layering with some more costume favorites [is the best option].”

Morrison adds that investing in a jewelry polishing cloth “can work wonders because tarnishing is caused by general wear, and just like your clothes, giving it a good clean will help.”

Ahead, find out what Morrison considers the top three identifying factors of cheap jewelry to be and shop our picks for affordable options that look expensive.

If you’re in the market for a new ring, take time to hold the band, give it a squeeze, and ensure it doesn’t feel too flimsy or thin.
This is one of the biggest giveaways but also, thankfully, one of the easiest to catch before purchasing. If the metal looks unbelievably shiny, then you might want to skip it.
There’s (almost) nothing worse than taking your ring off only to discover your finger looks like you’ve developed gangrene. Hard pass!

This Is Exactly How to Remove Deodorant Stains From Clothing

Nothing ruins your favorite little black dress quicker than a streak of deodorant. Depending on the material of the garment and depth of the stain, the best way to remove glaring white streaks can differ. So if a sudden deodorant stain has made an unsuspecting appearance on your favorite item, keep reading. We’ve gathered five different ways to remove deodorant, some a little more in-depth than others depending on how much time you have at your disposal. Keep in mind that delicate fabrics like silk or anything labeled “dry-clean only,” laundering may be best left to a professional.

How to Bleach Clothes (Without Damaging Them)

Bleach often gets a bad rap—it’s an agent that’s made to sanitize, brighten, and brilliantly clean clothing, but like many powerful substances, it can also have disastrous results if used incorrectly. And while bleached and distressed denim has its time and place, this is probably not a look you want to unintentionally inflict on your entire wardrobe. Rather than eschew bleach entirely, it’s a good idea to learn how to bleach clothes properly. Read on to see how it’s done.

Needless to say, not all clothing is made to be bleached. Check the tag (many clothing labels will note whether bleaching is verboten). If it’s okay to proceed, test the bleach solution on a less conspicuous area of the garment before fully laundering. While plain white cotton clothing tends to be the most obvious candidate for bleaching, you can also use bleach on more colorful clothing, provided that it’s color-safe bleach or a hydrogen peroxide solution.

Whether you’re using traditional bleach with chlorine or an eco-friendlier variation, it’s a good idea to properly ventilate the space. Open a window and make sure that any clothing you don’t intend to bleach is far enough away to avoid accidental contact. Use rubber gloves when working with bleach to protect your skin and wear an apron.

Bleach performs best when used with hot water. Provided that your clothing can be laundered with hot water (again, always be sure to check the care label instructions), opt for the highest heat setting on your washing machine.

Unless you’re going for a very specific look, never add undiluted bleach directly to clothing. To bleach clothes properly, follow the instructions on the container, which should specify a proper dilution ratio. Some washing machines have a compartment for bleach, and in that case, this is the right spot to add your bleach solution. If your machine does not have a bleach compartment, allow the wash cycle to begin before adding bleach to the water.

Allow the washing machine to run fully (an extra rinse cycle can help remove the scent of bleach), and then dry your garments as normal. If you’re working with a more delicate fabric, you can also hand-wash items in bleach, but be sure to wear protective gloves. Because the chemicals in bleach can damage certain fabrics, it’s a good idea to use a weaker, more diluted bleach solution for delicates. Thoroughly rinse the garments in clean water and make sure all bleach is completely removed before drying.

Now that you know how to bleach clothes, read on to discover the official dos and don’ts of washing your clothes.
