NYC Girls Are About to Be All Over This New Belt-Bag Trend
There’s a new accessory trend in town, and it’s coming in with a bang. Led by Fendi (at least among the street style set) but embraced by brands across the spectrum, the multi-pouch, utility-inspired belt bag is gaining steam for spring, and if I had to make an educated guess, I would say it’s going to be a major hit among the style setters of NYC, in addition to the rest of the fashion world, very soon.
Why New York, you may wonder? Well, if there’s one thing I’ve learned through observation since moving here, it’s that whenever there’s a cross between fashion and function, the women of the Big Apple are all over it. Since utility is literally in the name of this trend, I can only imagine it’s going to pick up very quickly here on the East Coast—starting with me, perhaps? To see how street style stars already wore the trend at fashion week and then, of course, to shop my favorite utility-inspired belt bags, just keep scrolling.

Green Chicken Enchiladas
Salsa verde, green chiles, leftover rotisserie chicken and Monterey Jack cheese make for the best weeknight enchiladas ever!
When I think of bomb Mexican food, I think of my favorite Mexican joint in LA.
Tacos Por Favor, also known as TPF. It’s located in a very tiny strip mall on the corner of Olympic Blvd and Bundy Drive, conveniently located next to a Coffee Bean.
So whenever I stop by this TPF, I order two things: a California burrito and green chicken enchiladas. I never deviate from this order. Never, ever, ever.
But now that we’ve moved to Chicago, I have had no choice but to come up with a TPF replacement.
And that’s these weeknight green chicken enchiladas.
It’s super simple and easy to assemble, and you get to repurpose leftover rotisserie chicken. Plus, when you combine the salsa verde, green chiles and Monterey Jack cheese, you’ll simply want to bathe in all of its glory.
So if you don’t have a TPF near you, you can now have your green chicken enchilada fix anytime, anywhere.
Oh, and the leftovers taste even better the next day.
Green Chicken Enchiladas
Salsa verde, green chiles, leftover rotisserie chicken and Monterey Jack cheese make for the best weeknight enchiladas ever!
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 medium sweet onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 (4-ounce) cans diced green chiles
- 4 cups coarsely shredded rotisserie chicken
- 1 (16-ounce) container salsa verde, divided
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- 3 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 8 (8-inch) flour tortillas, warmed
- 1/4 cup sour cream
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly oil a 9 x 13 baking dish or coat with nonstick spray.
- Heat canola oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, and cook, stirring frequently, until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in garlic, oregano and cumin until fragrant, about 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in green chiles.
- In a large bowl, combine green chile mixture, chicken, 1/3 cup salsa verde and cilantro. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- To assemble the enchiladas, lay tortilla on a flat surface and spoon 1/2-3/4 cups of the chicken mixture in the center. Roll the tortilla and place seam side down onto prepared baking dish. Repeat with remaining tortillas and chicken mixture. Top with remaining salsa verde and remaining 1 1/2 cups cheese.
- Place into oven and bake until bubbly, about 35-40 minutes.
- Serve immediately, topped with dollops of sour cream.

4 Tips on How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Band
While we tend to put most of our focus into searching for the perfect engagement ring, choosing the perfect wedding band to accompany it with is equally important. Of course, just like the beautiful ring your S.O. has given you, your wedding band is an extension of your commitment to your partner, and it should take just as much consideration as anything else. That said, with the ever-growing number of trends and options out there, narrowing it down to one final choice can be a daunting task. Not to worry: We asked designer Octavia Zamagias, the designer behind Octavia Elizabeth for her expertise on what to keep in mind when searching for that special band.
Choose something you can wear every day.
According to Zamagias, the perfect wedding band should be something you can wear every day, sometimes even in place of your engagement ring. For this reason, the designer typically tries to steer her clients away from styles on the trendier side.
This is the time to get the right ring.
If your engagement ring is less than ideal, take the opportunity of choosing exactly what you want in a wedding band. “I always suggest that they really get what they want out of the wedding band… Forgo matching if it means you’ll be happier in the long run,” she tells us.
Choose a practical band.
“The last thing you want to end up with is an impractical wedding band,” Zamagias says. “Emeralds are gorgeous, but they’re soft and won’t stand up to daily wear and tear, unfortunately. Go with diamonds, or if you want a colored stone, sapphires and rubies are substantial.” She also mentions steering away from pavé diamonds, as they fall out over time.
Get the comfort fit.
If you’re getting a plain band, opt for a comfort fit, which is when the jeweler shapes the band in a half-round shape. “It will be undetectable when it’s on, but so much more comfortable,” she notes.

The Biggest Wedding Dress Trends of 2019, According to a Bridal Expert
If you’re a bride-to-be searching for a striking new gown or you simply just love perusing dreamy wedding dresses in your spare time, (guilty as charged… and I’ve been married for three years!), then you’ve come to the right place because today we’re turning our attention to the fresh and modern wedding dress trends to come out of fall 2019 Bridal Fashion Week. While a few of the wedding dress trends that have become classics still remain strong, a new crop of fun, fantastical, and dynamic styles emerged onto the scene in all their sparkling glory.
We tapped Jennifer Cress, digital executive editor at Martha Stewart Weddings, to get more insight into what trends are emerging this year. “Expect to see statement (and removable) sleeves, interesting necklines. Off-the-shoulder and Victorian-inspired high collars are becoming more popular in lieu of a classic sweetheart or strapless. Metallic lace and intricate embroidery are also prevalent and make a classic silhouette feel special. And lastly, the Meghan effect: simple, modern dresses that nod to traditionalism with boatnecks and long sleeves.”
Whether your aesthetic is classic, modern, or bohemian, there’s a little something for every sartorial taste. Scroll below for the biggest wedding dress trends of 2019 and shop the new styles available right now.
