Sit Down—Over-40 Women Led the Pink Trend at the Oscars

From Jennifer Lopez’s mirrored Tom Ford dress to Billy Porter’s Christian Siriano tuxedo gown, the 2019 Oscars red carpet has blown all previous award shows out of the water. While the individual looks were definitely exciting, one of the overarching trends was impossible to ignore: the ladies who were pretty in pink.

Specifically, over-40 women absolutely stunned in pink dresses at the 2019 Oscars. Angela Bassett turned heads in a bow-bedecked Reem Acra number, while Helen Mirren wowed in Schiaparelli pink gown. Sarah Paulson went for a voluminous Brandon Maxwell dress, and Lisa Bonet went with an embroidered Fendi dress. Luckily, we don’t have to pick our favorites and can obsess over every single one. Scroll down to see how they wore the pink trend that dominated the 2019 Oscars red carpet.

The Only Way to See J.Lo’s Mirrored Oscars Dress Is Up Close

The 2019 Oscars red carpet is in full swing, with everyone from Charlize Theron to Yalitza Aparicio serving their very best looks. Jennifer Lopez might not be nominated for an Oscar, but she made sure to leave quite the impression on the red carpet. She wore a Tom Ford gold, embroidered, mirror-mosaic, long-sleeve gown with matching jewelry, and we can’t stop staring at it.

While the long-sleeve gown looks stunning from afar, nothing does it justice until you get a close-up look at the mirrored-mosaic details. We can’t begin to imagine how much went into creating this insanely intricate dress, but we’ll happily admire it from afar. She completed the look with Jimmy Choo shoes, glittering diamond earrings, and sleek side-parted hair. Her 2012 look is one of the most-Googled Oscars dresses of the last 10 years, and we have a feeling her 2019 one will also go down in history. Scroll down to see every detail on J.Lo’s 2019 Oscars dress.
