Six new species of hideously adorable tentacle-nosed catfish discovered in Amazon

Scientists just discovered six new species of bristlenose catfish in the Amazon. In an evolutionary move that takes ‘catfishing’ to a whole new, kind of sweet level, the males have tentacled faces to attract females. The tentacles look like eggs, and when females see a male with a tentacled face, they see a good potential father. The discovery of these new species might pave the way for conservation work in the Amazon.

Bees can do basic arithmetic

Researchers set out to test whether bees could do math, building on a groundbreaking finding that bees understand the concept of zero. The new study shows bees can be taught to recognize colors as symbolic representations for addition and subtraction, and use this information to solve arithmetic problems. The revelation that even the miniature brain of a honeybee can grasp basic mathematical operations has implications for the future development of AI.

Emily Ratajkowski’s New $36 Bra Is So on Trend

Thanks to her Instagram, Emily Ratajkowski is pretty much synonymous with swimwear and lingerie. Her brand, Inamorata, already sells EmRata-approved swimsuits, but the model and actress just expanded the label to include bras, tanks, and underwear. The best part? All of the pieces ring in under $60, with most items hovering around the $30 mark.

Naturally, Ratajkowski models the pieces herself—inside an NYC bodega, no less. We immediately zeroed in on one item in particular: the Inamorata Crosby Bralette ($36), which comes in a neon-green color that couldn’t be more on trend. One of our editors even wrote a story dubbing slime green as “the only color that matters right now”—a bold statement but one that’s backed up by a slew of women who have been wearing the color nonstop. Plus, we also included neon in our fall 2018 trend starter pack story, so it’s safe to say it’s everywhere right now. Scroll down to shop the bralette as well as other items from Ratajkowski’s new lingerie launch.

Next, I went to the most stylish city in Europe and spotted these seven trends.

The Duchess of Cambridge Just Wore a Very Un-Middleton Pair of Ankle Boots

Today the Duchess of Cambridge visited Lavender Primary School for children’s mental health week, taking part in a number of activities with the children to identify the things that make them feel good. Kate wore a bold green dress by a label that she has been wearing since 2016, Kensington-based bespoke dress brand Eponine London. Her choice of shoes, however, was less predictable, as Kate wore a pair of lace-up black suede ankle boots with a chunky heel and gold eyelets. It’s a more casual choice of footwear for the Duchess, who usually favors a conservative court shoe or something a little more formal.

This might be a more relaxed style of ankle boot for Kate, however, they are from one of her trusted high-street shoe departments—L.K.Bennett. It can be tricky to wear dresses in winter, however, this black opaques and heeled suede ankle boots pairing instantly makes any mini or midi dress appropriate for colder weather. Although we’d advise wearing with a coat, unlike Kate.

Thanks to Meghan Markle, These Affordable Sneakers Are the World’s Hottest Shoes

Meghan Markle wore Veja sneakers, and now everyone wants to wear Veja sneakers. We’re only kind of kidding. Allow us to explain why we’re bringing up the sneakers Markle wore almost four months ago in New Zealand. The global fashion search platform Lyst just released its latest quarterly index (covering the last part of 2018), and it’s filled with juicy nuggets: Gucci is still the world’s hottest brand, Moncler is on the rise, and urban performance gear (e.g., Patagonia fleeces) is trending. But we’re here to talk about the hottest women’s products in the world, according to Lyst and its millions of users.

Gucci bags and belts take the top two spots in the category, but coming in at the number three spot are the sneakers that Markle made even more famous (because they were already loved by plenty of It girls before she was spotted in them): Veja V10 sneakers. After Markle wore them on October 21, 2018, Lyst notes that online searches for Veja rose by a whopping 113%. Not only that, Lyst points out that they’re “the first ever fully sustainably made product to make the hottest products list.”

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Photos: First Look at Final Season

With a few short months to go until the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones airs, we still don’t know too much about what’s about to go down. A recent teaser titled “Dragonstone” gave us hints about a battle between “fire and ice,” and during the Golden Globes, we were treated to a tiny clip of Daenerys and Jon Snow meeting Sansa Stark.

Now, HBO has released the first images of the main characters in Season 8. It’s not much, but it’s definitely something. And Game of Thrones fans need to be appeased, after all.

In the Season 7 finale, Daenerys was with Jon Snow, on their way to Winterfell. Oh, and they had also hooked up despite Dany being Jon’s aunt.

In Season 8, Jon Snow looks concerned as always.

Over in the Stark family, Sansa looks smug, which may or may not support the fan theory that Sansa is basically turning into a mini-Cersei.

Bran, a.k.a. the Three-Eyed Raven, also looking quite concerned. He was last seen with Sam Tarly and had just found out that Jon Snow is the heir to the Iron Throne.

We last saw Arya Stark in Winterfell, so perhaps she’ll be reunited with her family.

Tyrion Lannister saw Jon and Dany go into the bedroom together, and wasn’t exactly super happy about it.

Jaime was last seen riding away from King’s Landing.

Cersei is still crazy but frankly looks a little sad.

Brienne is still protecting the Stark children.

Sam Tarly is smiling, which is probably a good thing. Also? Nice haircut, dude.

Varys totally might be in Winterfell.

Davos Seaworth also looks concerned.

The main theme here seems to be that everyone looks concerned and sad, and according to Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos, “we’re all going to die.” I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Game of Thrones Season 8 premieres Sunday, April 14th at 9 p.m.
