8 Celebrities Just Went Unretouched for This “On Fire” Lingerie Brand
Wildly popular, wildly affordable lingerie (and swimwear) brand Aerie can truly do no wrong. The American Eagle offshoot continues to break ground with its commitment to embracing diverse body types and inclusivity, and it was one of the first brands to refrain from retouching its models, leading the way for others to follow suit. The strategy is clearly working, as last year Forbes stated that Aerie was “on fire.”
For the brand’s spring 2019 campaign, it tapped eight inspiring celebrity role models to model the new collection: actresses Busy Philipps, Samira Wiley, and Jameela Jamil, -Paralympic medalist Brenna Huckaby, blind YouTuber Molly Burke, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, body positive model Iskra Lawrence, and poet and author Cleo Wade.
We exclusively caught up with a few of the campaign stars behind the scenes at the shoot, and their words about what being a role model means to them were beautifully profound. Cleo Wade told us, “To me, being a role model means to live a life bigger than just me. To live a life that can help every young girl everywhere,” while Iskra Lawrence shared these inspiring words: “Being a role model means believing in my own power so that I’m then able to let other people see their superpower too.” And Busy Phillips shared who her role models are, saying “Some of my personal role models are Oprah, obviously, and my mother because she’s such an incredibly strong woman who raised two incredibly strong women.”
Keep scrolling to see shots from the beautiful unretouched campaign and head to Aerie tomorrow to shop the new spring collection.
Next up, read what Iskra Lawrence had to say about her unretouched Aerie campaign last spring.

I’m Resolving to Not Buy These 7 Unstylish Shoe Styles Anymore
I very much live by the old “never say never” adage, especially when it comes to fashion trends, but there are certain shoe styles that I can say with confidence I can’t imagine myself wearing again. We live in a time in fashion when even “ugly” trends have a regular tendency to become wildly popular. I embrace some of them, but there are other shoe trends that I tend to say “been there, done that” about, for one reason or another (most of which have to do with seeing old photos of myself wearing them).
Style is obviously a very personal thing, so I must point out that if the shoes I’m skipping work for you, I fully support wearing them to your heart’s content. I, on the other hand, have seven alternative styles that I’m shopping for instead as of late. Keep scrolling to see which shoes I’m officially done with and which I’m buying instead.
Next up, the Instagram accounts I look at whenever I want to buy shoes.
