Anything that has the word maple in it is already a winner in my book.

Maple cookies, maple scones, maple donuts, maple cupcakes, maple butter.

All win, win, win.

And now, we have maple biscuits, which is basically the next best thing since sliced bread.

These bad boys are warm, tender, and so perfectly flaky. I mean, look at all those layers!!!

But the best part is not the bacon, not the maple syrup, and not how perfectly sweet and savory they are.

It’s how these biscuits are served: hot out of the oven, brushed with all the maple butter goodness in the entire world.

Maple Bacon Cheddar Biscuits

Soft, tender, oh-so-flaky biscuits the whole family will love! Wtih crisp bacon and maple syrup, what could be better, right?

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices bacon, diced
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, frozen
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 6 tablespoons maple syrup, divided
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add bacon and cook until brown and crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat; transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. In a large bowl, combine bacon, flour, cheese, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
  4. Grate butter using the large holes of a box grater. Stir into the flour mixture.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk and 4 tablespoons maple syrup. Add to the flour mixture and stir using a rubber spatula until a soft dough forms.
  6. Working on a lightly floured surface, knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a 1 1/4-inch thick rectangle. Cut out 12 rounds using a 2 to 2 1/2-inch biscuit or cookie cutter. Place biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet; place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove biscuits from freezer. Place into oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together remaining 2 tablespoons maple syrup and butter.
  9. Serve biscuits warm, brushed with the maple-butter mixture.

7 Outfits All the Cool Girls Are Wearing in Paris

Outfits spotted in Paris always serve as style inspiration, but especially right now when all of the coolest fashion girls descend on the city for fashion week. So, what are we seeing? The beginning of the week kicked off with Jacquemus and many of the show’s guests wore pieces from the designer. The most popular silhouettes included the brand’s long dresses with high slits and scoop necks or turtlenecks. Both dresses emerged as a clear It piece among on Paris fashion scene.

But we’re also seeing some of the biggest trends for fall start to appear. Snakeskin—with its luxe finish and cool factor—is hugely popular. Bright colors are also big on the streets of Paris where fashion girls are wearing everything from bold shades of orange to pretty pastels. Ahead, we’re breaking down the best looks from Paris fashion week so far and the pieces to wear them yourself.

My Secret Source for Genius Styling Tricks

I’ll let you in on a little secret. I log onto Net-a-Porter every single day that I’m at the Who What Wear office for a dose of fashion inspiration. Not only does the retailer have an amazing section of new arrivals and a curated collection of up-and-coming designers scouted for its “vanguard” that I’m constantly checking out, but they also have incredible styling ideas that never fail to inspire me. For this reason, I find myself scrolling through Net-a-Porter on the regular.

In particular, I’ll go to Net-a-Porter to get ideas for how to style particularly challenging trends. For example, neon—undoubtedly one of the biggest trends of the moment. I watched the bold colors come down runway after runway this fashion month but still questioned if it was right for my personal wardrobe and how I would actually pull it off IRL. But, after seeing an electric green turtleneck layered under an oversize T-shirt with jeans over on Net-a-Porter, I began to see how I could actually pull it off.

Ahead, I’m breaking down more of the cool fashion styling ideas I’ve picked up from Net-a-Porter and will be testing out for myself for the season ahead.

First, secure it over your natural waist and slightly to one side.
Another way to wear it? Across your body, slung over one shoulder.
This faux-croc style from Nanushka is currently topping my wish list.
Cowboy boots are everywhere right now, but instead of stopping there, add a fringe suede jacket to your look to really lean into the trend.
Cowboy boots are one of the biggest trends of the season—especially styles like this with modern upgrades.
This cropped jacket is finished with fringe and the perfect compliement to cowboy boots.
If you want to wear your sweatshirt to the office, try tying it around a midi skirt to create a cool layered effect.
One of the most iconic pieces for the fall 2018 season.
Bike shorts have been getting more and more popular and show no signs of slowing down as a trend. If you’re planning on wearing them outside of the gym, add a belted blazer on top.
These act as the foundation of the outfit.
Then, add a blazer on top and finish the look with a waist-cinching belt.
Here’s a way to experiment with color in a measured way. I personally think it’s a great method for testing out the neon trend this fall.
This top has quickly become a signature piece.
The boxy shape is perfect.

Trust Me—Buy These 10 Dresses

Trust Me—Buy This is a bimonthly series where our market editor, Nicole Eshaghpour, makes her favorite real-life fashion finds shoppable for Who What Wear readers.

It’s dress time! From daytime frocks to party-ready picks, today I’m putting a special spin on my Trust Me—Buy This series and making it all about dresses—because honestly, doesn’t it feel like an endless search? It definitely does for me, but since I’ve spent my fair share of time researching, buying, and, of course, wearing them, I figured I’d put some of that effort to even better use and share my favorite finds with you. See and shop my picks from the last few months, as well as some similar styles, below.

I’ve worn this Rixo dress more times than I can count, and it’s not even fall yet. It’s perfect for wearing on its own, adding belts to, or layering with tees and sweaters.
This summer, I got so much use out of this printed shirtdress as a bathing suit cover. For fall, I plan to wear it with ankle boots, both closed as a dress and open like a jacket.
Petite girls: I’m 5’2″, and this dress fit me perfectly without being shortened or tailored at all—and that does not happen often. I love everything about it, but most of all the jeweled buttons.
All of Dôen’s pieces are amazing, but the brand especially excels in the prairie-inspired dresscategory, which happens to be one of fall’s biggest trends. While I loved the above light blue style in the summer, for fall, I have to suggest the below, darker style.
Pardon the super-zoomed photo, but I had to show off the neckline and drawstring detail on this Pixie Market dress. I wore it a ton this summer with sandals and can’t wait to wear it with Western ankle boots for fall.
I’m a sucker for covered buttons, which are just one of the many amazing details on this R13 dress. I love pairing it with this crystal belt and simple black heeled sandals for weddings.
Did I mention s having a sale? Save up to 25% on your order with code STOCKUP18. Sale ends September 30.
I got so much use out of this now-sold-out Majorelle dress during my summer travels because it (and all the brand’s pieces) can be so easily dressed up or down with a simple switch of your shoes. For the months ahead, I plan to pick up a new printed minidress from the brand that I’ll hopefully get just as much use out of.
This dress by Haney is, undeniably, a “party dress” in the very best way. If you’re looking to switching things up from your go-to LBD but still want something easy to wear and flattering, this is it.

I have a newfound love for slip dresses after getting this bias-cut style from Silk Laundry and, much like with the Rixo one a bit earlier in the story, realizing how versatile it is. Again, I’ve worn this so many ways and so many different times.
Last, but certainly not least, is one of my favorite easy, flattering, and standout wedding guest dresses by Alice McCall.

4 Women Who Totally Overhauled Their Style and Aren’t Looking Back

Right now is the time of year when overhauling feels like the norm. We’ve just gotten accustomed to summer officially ending, we’ve broken out a jacket or two (even if we have to shove them back in the closet on a rogue 80-degree day), and it feels like a time to get serious—whether that means laser-focusing on the goals we want to achieve before the end of the year or getting better informed to cast our vote in the midterm elections next month. No matter how you define it, reflecting and reevaluating can be an incredibly powerful—as well as challenging—task, and this inspired us to turn to real stories within our own Who What Wear community.

We asked you about undergoing a major style overhaul. For some, this might mean a loss of personal style, but for others, changing how we dress is more about taking a big step into a new chapter in our lives. Below, here’s what four women—including a very recognizable fashion insider—have to say about their journeys, in their own words.
